Goggles pulled down to around his neck, he keeps his phaser handy, unsure of what he would find inside the pyramid. Already it seemed more familiar than the outside. But better safe than sorry.
Kirk gets lost a few times but when he's close enough to hear a voice, he follows it. May not lead him out of the maze but at least he'd have someone to question. Plus, two heads better than one, etc.
There's relief as he manages to find his way out and spots someone trying to... looks like some kind of combination lock. Or puzzle acting as a lock. It would line up with all the rumors he heard about this place.
