Looking for a few good ops.

ryuuzakiL is hiring people to do legwork for his detective agencies, although he's pretending it's only for one, and he's pretending he's just an employee. Aww, let him pretend.
The nature of the tasks? Following someone, or eavesdropping on them, or maybe retrieving a very particular item, or getting some information, or if someone is exceptionally patient, staking out a location for a couple of days. Don't kill anyone or hurt them more than agreed/necessary. Try not to get noticed or caught.
Duration of employment? Well, it can just be one thread, or it can be ongoing on a freelance basis for maybe 200s or so a shot (probably once a month, and I'll give you basic details of what your character was asked to do that month), or your character can be a permanent dedicated employee of some kind (probably more like 500+s, IDK, and probably very irregular part-time hours and I can give you some ideas about what they'd be up to, or we can come up with some stuff together). If your character is only doing the one thread, or doing a freelance job maybe once a month, it doesn't matter who else they're working for, and it doesn't matter if L has to pay them through their other employer... subcontractors are fine. The only way your character having another job would be a problem is if they were blabbing about the work they did for L. If they can manage to keep it to themselves as an occasional moonlighting gig, they're fine. If a couple of characters think they'd work better together as a team, that's cool too, they can work as a team.
I'll be posting a log for these jobs in early June, assuming anyone is interested in pursuing them! The threads will be a little different than a typical log in that they will be more like a choose-your-own-adventure kind of thing and a little less detailed than most log threads are… more like "here's what's happening with the task you've been given: what are you going to do now?" and then, if appropriate, what happens as a result of your character's choice. They will generally be customized to the character to some extent.
These can really be set at any time after May 15 or in June: basically, just decide where it fits best in your character's personal timeline and assume that's when it happened. However, if the June event would put an IC pause on this kind of activity, assignments would be suspended for the duration of the event and pick up afterward. (As an example, I initially intended to post this earlier in May, but decided not to because of the event -- he wouldn't have tried to hire people on the basis of powers they might only have for a short time.)
If your character has any powers that would affect their thread (mostly psychic-type stuff), please let me know here… especially if they're going to try to hide those powers when they talk to L about taking on the work.
Also, while it's not a total requirement, filling out (or, if necessary, updating) L's permissions might also be helpful to both of us! That addresses what he knows and is allowed to pick up about your character.
