Whether it's drugs or cushy beds or banquets or safety, there's always something behind those promises. He'll make sure that they take what they can get away with, but no one's going to sacrifice their freedom for it while he's around. It's maybe a little more complicated knowing that he's got to keep her safe, too, but he's going to do his best to make sure that if there's any nastiness heading their way that she won't be facing it by herself.
