She bites down on her smile as she looks up to him, pleased with the praise. She nudges him again, a silently coded thank you. She was only doing what she thinks they would have wanted, trying to emulate their example. But it's nice to hear she's doing the right thing, that she has it in her to make it on her own. It's not something she wants, but something she knows, deep down, that she needs to have.
