So, it's starting to look like she's going to do this. J's going to offer to do business with all five of them to get protection for whales, however if/when they refuse her terms she's not going to pull back her offer. Meaning, she'll be trading her services for other items. Those items doesn't exactly need to be too valuable, it's enough that they look like they have some worth. So, jewellery, diamonds/crystals/pretty looking rocks, coins that could be used as currency on other planets etc. Or if they happen to have magical/high tech items such as fabric that'll switch colors according to wearer's mood, music box that plays music from different worlds, tech that'll turn you invisible (something she wouldn't know how use), candy that'll affect on your mood etcetc.
