i: in which a girl finds her dog and loses her glasses - Medbay corridor
[Well this isn't good. This isn't good at all.
So what if she'd fallen asleep on the boat after lunch? That was normal. She'd just been sprawled out on the deck, catching the late afternoon rays, Dad had been on a roll about making sure she'd got enough sunscreen on before he'd turned the same attention to Mom and they had been typically them about who was applying what to where (ew), and before long she'd drifted off to sleep and...
Well. Here she is. No Mom. No Dad. No Vicky. No boat.
No Earth.
So obviously her first port of conclusion was that this was all a dream. Unfortunately, this theory has been quickly shot down when she was brought through the medbay and given the welcome spiel.
This girl happens to take after both of her parents, and with neither of them around to take her to task for her language she quickly turns the air a little bit bluer and feels marginally better.
Marginally.
The situation, however, is about to get much, much better as something large, heavy and hairy barrels at her and knocks her flying- and her glasses. This might be upsetting to some, but not to this girl, oh no. She knows this reassuringly heavy, wagging weight.]
Vicky! Hey girl, what are you doing here, huh? What are you doing?
[There is now a skinny teenage girl sitting flat on her ass in the corridor outside of the medbay being thoroughly and enthusiastically greeted by a very affectionate yellow labrador.]
Hey cut that out- stop it! Oh crap, where the hell are my glasses? Vicky stop it you dingus, I need to find where you knocked my glasses.
ii: in which a girl and her dog take in the sights - Observation Deck
[Having been on the Moira for a couple of hours now, she and Vicky the dog are now feeling somewhat calmer, at least on the surface. Well. She guesses Vicky's calmer, she's at least not licking the living daylights out of her and running after every interesting person she sees. Anyway, Vicky's a dog who can't talk or broadcast her thoughts beyond 'I am a dog and I am happy please feed me' which she's able to communicate very well through body language alone- Dad's been trying to get her to bark once for no and twice for yes but it's not happening. Can't teach an old dog new tricks.
As for her? Well. She'd not exactly calm. There's nothing about being abducted into outer space that inspires calmness, especially when there's no way of knowing if or when she's going to get returned home. Really she's kind of panicking, but every time she winds up starting to vocalise that panic it just serves to get Vicky agitated and so she immediately feels bad and hugs her dog and that in turn calms her down.
Dogs are awesome.
So there they are, standing in front of the window, staring out into space and... well it's kind of awe inspiring really.]
