Providing Charles is forced off the serum that suppresses his powers, he's actually a great choice for team negotiations.
He'll be very against handing over anyone to the Caducans. It shows that any violent force, any invaders, would have an easy target in the crew of the Moira and be able to attack without provocation in the future to get anything/anyone they want. If it were to come down to the Caducans demanding Bruce, and he's capable of using his abilities again, he'd be able to try altering their perception to think that they have him.
Charles is a strong believer in peaceful solutions. Or attempting peaceful solutions. So he'd like to avoid any kind of bloodshed or throwing anyone under the bus.
He would appreciate someone filling him in entirely on the situation though.
