OK, guys, I'm dropping the same comment to everyone who replied here. We could coordinate further either in the plotting channel of the Savrou Discord server, or I'd be happy to do it on plurk at [personal profile] detectivefiction, but I don't have everyone on Plurk.

What I was thinking is that probably some of the organization of this would be IC, and we'll probably end up doing some network stuff (depending on what the mods wind up posting -- I put a question about that up in the questions area).

What makes sense to me, since the recommendation is to go in groups of 1-2, is for any less-fighting-ready character to be accompanied by a fairly strong fighter, and that any one-person groups be made up of people who can handle themselves in face-to-face combat. But, IDK, maybe one or two clever people could do just fine!

Another thing that I hope to bring up IC-ly right when all this begins to go down (but again, it depends on what information characters get from the captains) is that a good way to proceed would be to treat all early rescue missions as combination rescue/recon: try to get some brief images of the area, take note of what people wear and what kind of species are around, and so on, so later attempts can go in prepared. Not sure yet how much info characters are going to be able to get while they're on the ship itself.

Rescued characters could always join in on later stages.

If slavers start to notice that slaves are going missing, or if a rescue is too disruptive, it seems reasonable to assume that some slavers might beef up security. Later missions might be a little more difficult? (Then again, the mods are saying they don't want to box us in too much, so that's probably more an idea of something we could play with than something set in stone.)

I don't know if there's a possibility of failed attempts who then need to be rescued themselves, but that might also be something to consider.

Other ideas? Let's talk! Maybe we could do a meet up log or something? IDK!

PS - Oh, Deacon. :(
