There's two options you can go with here. The first, Drift gets out without them getting between his plating and he's free and clear. Or the second, they slip inside. They don't hurt or burn when they're inside of him, but they are extremely chatty. They'll tell him about themselves, how they've been trapped for so long, and how they have to rest so that they can't come back out of him. It'll take ICly about two weeks for them to do so and during that time, the lights will be talkative day and night, and they'll also tell him what others around him are thinking - loudly.
