☄ The genders are totally up to you. You can do anything that you want with her barracks, so she can definitely leave them there. They'd look about five or six, and you can decide on their appearance (hair, eye, skin color, etc).

Since they're children and their previous mother hadn't taught them as much as they need, if she were tied up, anything that might happen to her would be more along the lines of neglect. They'd forget to feed her, or tie the binds too tight. Not purposeful things, but accidental. If they latch on, they wouldn't try to hurt her with malice.
