[Fear is a category of emotion with which Nill has extensive experience. Before Heine had saved her, it had been her entire life; after, her existence had still been punctuated by it, but she had at least been able to go about her day-to-day business rather normally. The underground church, though a sanctuary, was still both a blessing and a curse. Bad people knew where to find them, even if the fear of "white hair and eyepatch" generally kept them away. Still, the punctuation of panic always reminded her of where she'd come from and where she could end up again.
This kind of fear, however, was on an entirely new level. The breath had been knocked out of her, and she'd been blinded for a moment. Had she been able to cry out, she would have--instead, when Nill lands on the Ingress platform, her wings flap and her knees hit the metal deck hard. The blonde scrambles to her feet, eyes wide and full of alarm. Her body moves before her mind can catch up, the need to find a place to hide overpowering any thoughts that might guide her to finding out what, exactly, had happened.]
GARDENS
[Greenery in the underground was very hard to come by. The only time Nill had ever seen flowers was when she had gone with Heine to visit Granny Liza's shop for dress fittings and even those were always kind of wilting. But on this ship--because that's what they'd told her it was, even if she knows they aren't traveling over water--has more flowers than she'd ever thought could exist.
The brightness of the gardens had hurt her eyes a little the first time she'd seen it; colors in the underground always seemed muted and washed out. But here, everything is vibrant, so saturated. She can hardly bring herself to leave when she has to. It's like a dream, one she never wants to wake up from.
Nill wanders the gardens, smelling the flowers, petting the kittens, and looking up at the tree. Yora had told her stories about climbing trees, but she'd never been sure they were true. He always seemed to have some kind of story about something, and it was one of the things she liked most about him. As she meanders, Nill pays little mind to her surroundings, her small wings settled gently against her back, free of anxious twitches and flutters. These moments are really the first she's been able to enjoy since being torn from her home, and something tells her she needs to savor them.]
