Good afternoon fellow Savorites!
First of all I want to apologize for being a little late rolling this out, the holidays kicked my ass this year.
An idea came up in discussion back at the start of December, and after some follow up conversation with the mods, the opportunity to circle back on it and flesh it out has cropped up. Basically with the IC help of the captains, and medical being over caffeinated work-a-holics, in the last few days of Week 4 of the month, a sort of Barter Bazaar is going to be set up.
What will happen is that all new characters will be given an unused PacDisc [ Code for PacDisc Inventory system. ] courtesy of the captains. This PacDisc will have an item already in it, a starting point if you will and characters can keep their item or use it as a starting point for bartering.
IF YOU WERE ACCEPTED IN THE DECEMBER APP ROUND!!! Please comment HERE and we will give you your starting item. If your character wouldn't be interested in gifts from the captains, it's perfectly acceptable not to pick this up.
This exchange is completely opt-in.
In the IC log, established characters will have received a handwaved message encouraging them to sort through theirshit inventory and see if there are any items they'd be okay passing along to new crew, or heck even trading among themselves! Likewise, new characters will receive a similar handwaved message, encouraging them to take advantage of the opportunity. The log will be for everybody to come together and start getting their swap on. Who knows, there may be food and other bribes goodies to make it a right proper mingle.
Think of it as a way to meet your fellow stranded brethren ... and get stuff! Besides actual tangible things (if your character would rather hang on to all their stuff) consider offering information, help or even basic support in getting through this barren wasteland.
The actual IC log will be posted on Saturday December 31st to allow people to plot here and also on the CR meme that goes up tomorrow. Also to clarify since it was a question that was asked! The items will ICly drop on Saturday the day of the bazaar. So figure the captains make their handwaved announcement and then pass out the pacdiscs.
