Hello Savrites!

We had originally intended this to be a normal mod update type of post, but we decided to do a State of The Game update instead. Mostly to let you know what's going on, where we're going, and where we'd like to end up.

First, let's talk about apps! As per the calendar, applications will be opening up again on October 16th. We have changed some of the rules regarding apps to (hopefully) make it easier on both new and old players as well as the mods. They are reflected on the individual pages, but here is a summary:

☄ A reserve is now required for all applications.
☄ There will be an application cap.
☄ Any current player who officially drops may re-app a new character at any time, but only once every 2 months.

The application cap will be set to 15 applications for new players and 15 applications for current players. This means we will have a total of 30 app slots open during October. Whichever slots are not filled will then be opened as a "free for all" on the last day of the cycle (October 22nd).

Plot Specific Sign Ups Are Now Closed

In October the ship will be touching down on the Runoff's Mini Colony. This is a mecha of trade and commerce, which is something we want to do a little bit of world building with. There are three sections below that players should participate in. The first is a sign up for location specific plot; take a look at the linked map and respond with your character's name and the corresponding number. Once all the numbers have been taken, we'll double them over for anyone else that signs up. The second section is to 'create a business'; in this section players can build a business and then NPC it during the event. The third is suggest something that occurs on the mini colony; you list it and if it fits, we'll approve it. All of this stuff will be built into the event logs when they come up. We'd really like our players' input.

Section forty of the mini-colony has two main businesses; one for selling custom-made hover crafts and the other is for something called, Pay for Exchange. Both hold their own appeals, and looking into the second, you’ll discover that for a hefty price, characters can swap out and live inside of the body of someone else for one day. These bodies are custom made as well to whatever specifications asked of them. Characters bodies will be placed in a holding station until the day is up and then consciousness is swapped back. The experience is said to be disorienting at first, but the twenty-four hour period isn’t up until you leave the facility. When your character sees these buildings, will they go inside one or both? Will they want to swap their bodies?

Asriel will definitely check out the building for custom-made hover crafts. And while it'd make him incredibly uncomfortable, he'll investigate the Pay for Exchange building too. If offered a new body, he'll turn it down. Would Asriel notice anything weird about the bodies used for swapping? Or would he even see them if he goes in?

☄ Inside the custom made hover crafts shop, they have a special of buy one get one free. Will you buy?

☄ At Pay for Exchange, the clerk helping Asriel will greet them with a handshake and show them a large selection of bodies that are available for swapping. These bodies will be out on the floor in glass cases, and hitting a button will revolve the selection. Cosmetic changes can happen on the spot. When Asriel turns the clerk down, they'll smile, thank him and tell him to please browse and reconsider before moving away. How long does Asriel stay inside the building? (minutes, an hour, hours?)

Heck yes Asriel will take full advantage of that special. He definitely doesn't need them but hover crafts are cool.

At Pay For Exchange, Asriel will reluctantly keep browsing. The shop creeps him out and he doesn't think he's going to find anything that will change his mind, but he keeps exploring the shop to see if he'll find anything weird or unusual about any of the bodies. He'll stick around looking for an hour.

☄ The custom made crafts will be fitted to him specifically. The controls, settings, style, everything will be made so that he can use it with ease.

☄ As Asriel browses the shop, he'll notice that the person nearest him is looking through a display titled, New Options. If he steps up to the person to watch as they browse the available selections, he'll catch a glimpse of a form identical to his own, but the viewer will continue to flip through. Will he ask or make them go back? Or brush it off?

Asriel will ask the person to go back to see if he can find the selection that looks like him.

☄ The person will huff, and walk away, leaving the machine for him to use. If he goes back, he'll find an exact copy of himself up for purchase.

Well, that's pretty messed up. After being horrified for a few seconds, he checks the other New Options to see if he recognizes any of the other bodies. After that, he'll be trying to find the nearest employee and asking why there's a copy of himself for sale.

☄ He'll only see other copies of people he knows if they'd visited the shop (you can handwave seeing someone in if you know the character visited). If he stops an employee, they'll ask him to show them what he's talking about. They'll then point out differences that aren't actually differences to say that they aren't the same.

Asriel will try to argue back, trying to point out the similarities. If he gets nowhere, he'll eventually ask if the body inside is actually alive.

☄ They'll be honest about the body- telling him that it is alive, for sale, and if he asks, it isn't illegal to copy the guests that come in. From this point, Asriel can decide any course of action that he'd like to take. (try to stop the business, stage a coup, anything.) Let me know if you need any more information.
