mod update
Hello players! Over the last few days we've received a couple of messages that we thought it best to address through a mod update.
OLD PAGES
We've had a couple people come forward about old pages cropping up, either through their histories or some other means. We had been slowly closing those out as we no longer needed them, but as of tonight, every one should be locked or deleted. If you come across one, please let us know.
NEW SETTING - ARC II
When we started our switch to the new arc, we understood that a lot would be changing, and that some might be hit or miss. The new setting is spread out and open, though more stable, for a few reasons. The premise of the original game was focused on one thing - getting us to Thisavrou. We waited until we felt it was time and did the switch. The second main reason was that throughout the first arc, we noticed that players enjoyed the most when their plots or IC actions had consequences or affected the game noticeably. With the new setting, we arranged it so that at the beginning of every month the mods would post a log, mainly an information drop, and any other events during the month would be player run, created or suggested.
Some might have noticed that this month's player plot was directly tied to future meta plot of our game. We'd really like to make Thisavrou a collaborative experience so that it's not what us mods want, but something we all can get behind. That's why we need your help.
PLAYER PLOTS
Each month we want to do a player plot. It can be something you create completely on your own, write up, and post (which we would link on plurk, etc.) or something you create/write and then we post it for you. It can be something where your character is directly involved or it can be NPCs. The event can be Thisavrou-centered or it can involve a brand new world that you make up on your own. The player plot can cause minor/major ripples in Thisavrou or make no large changes at all. Whether it's new worlds or a break down of government, we want our players to help create Thisavrou's narrative. We're looking for someone to get in touch with us for next month, so if you have an idea let us know.
ITEMS FROM HOME
In the original setting, characters could get items from home. You still can! Comment to the feedback page at any time with your request and the mod who responds will explain the details.
COMMUNICATION
We also want to remind our players that communication is a huge thing. If you're having a problem, an issue with a player or you don't know where to find something or have a game related question, there are plenty of ways to contact us. The feedback, faq, personal journals, etc. This shouldn't need to be said, but please respect one another. No bullying or harassment of any kind will be tolerated.
HOUSEKEEPING
Auto Drops:
- D.VA
- Harry Hart ( drop )
- Madison Rocca
- Mephistopheles ( drop )
- River ( drop )
- Samantha Patchowski
- Tifa Lockhart
- Undertaker ( drop )

Please comment here if you have a concern about the auto drops list or if you have your AC but missed the original post. Also, please respond here if you have any questions, comments, or suggestions or you can head to the feedback page. Thanks to all our players for being so helpful!

Re: Comments/Suggestions
A group of exotic ambulatory vines -- rootless plant/animal hybrids that creep across the landscape and are capable of speeds that rival a tortoise, and which are also very good at curling up and disappearing into the background -- escapes from the menagerie in Region 6 and ends up in Region 3, where they plant their suckers in the trees of the region and reproduce by splitting in half. Soon they are a large nuisance, and many of the trees of Region 3 are starting to show signs of stress from the new parasites.
When the leaders of Region 6 refuse to take responsibility (they are overextended, trying to get that region started, and really don't have the resources to deal with this in any case), a grudge develops between the regions, which progresses from arguments and attempts to set up barriers to stealing materials and exotic herbivores from Region 6 for use in Region 3 to try to eliminate the vines. Things eventually escalate to minor sabotage and tricks played on both sides. Region 2 eventually joins in the free for all, trying to get access to anything that looks like a solution (or get revenge) as the vines spill out of Region 3 into some of their farmlands.
Other parties attempt to develop solutions too, but the vines prove extremely resistant to attempts to destroy them, which mostly cause them to split even more frequently into smaller and more mobile pieces.
Eventually, though, it is discovered that when the vines mature, they develop roots and settle down, and the mature vines have an inhibiting effect on the development of the younger, mobile version and they are also a great habitat for a species of songbird that the inhabitants of Region 3 had been having a difficult time introducing into their forest. Region 3 makes an about-face on the vines almost instantly, and switching to a strategy of cultivation and control through using mature vines (and chemicals derived from the mature vines) rather than (futile) attempts at wholesale destruction eventually leads to a situation of equilibrium where the vines can be limited to certain areas where they serve as breeding grounds for the songbirds.
Relationships between the regions involved, however, may still need some patching up in the wake of the situation.

Re: Comments/Suggestions
Obviously I don't know what you guys have up your sleeve but I was wondering if perhaps there might be a mod run plotty event log soon? I'd like to do a player plot in a few months when I have more time but when I was brainstorming the openness of the setting almost made it harder to come up with a plot because so much was possible it was a little overwhelming.
But if there are plotty things that are introduced by the mods (like idk other races/planets that Savrou has a history with or factions on Savrou, a certain planet, or maybe hints at the overall plot that can be built off) that can inspire player ideas and/or introduce concepts, people, and places players could use that might help with inspiration. I know I sometimes I am better at building off concepts and ideas given to me rather than creating them from scratch so I always appreciate more details.
Thanks!

We appreciate you taking the time to say something. Our idea for the new setting was to give players a stable place for their characters to build a life on. Instead of us giving players absolutely everything all at once - open regions, all the areas of both planets that can be explored, information on the ingress complex, the storm, what's outside the storm, in it, etc. - we wanted to switch to the new arc with all the new pages/info and give players time to settle in and get accustomed to it. The mods as well since a lot was changed. The switch is still recent, so we hope players that are looking for mod run plots to give us a little more time to get things settled.
All that aside, the new setting is open but that's so that players can truly influence what happens in the game. We're opening the entire Thisavrou setting up to be changed, influenced, and altered naturally however it happens. If things get bad, they do and if they're good, that's great, too. Players really have a lot of room to get involved and help guide the story line. For example, players can create plots that cause change with how the Savrii run their almost nonexistent government. They can do a write up for a world that brings a crazy horrible threat to Thisavrou's front doors. The options are endless and we really want to see what we can all make happen together. Plots were altered and limited before because we couldn't let something happen that would ruin the ship as it was the only living situation, but now we don't have to worry about that as much.
When it comes to mod run plots - we have so much that we want to do. Thisavrou's storm is a huge part of our metaplot and a little teaser was dropped in this month's player plot. A lot of what happened in Arc I is tied into the storm and what we're going to do, we just don't want to drop all of it at once we only just switched.
If there's something you want to do or any other player wants to do or even see happen in the game, all we ask is that you come to us. Tell us about it. Talk it out. If we know, then we can make it happen. I really hope this helps you see where we're coming from.
Thank you!

I understand where you're coming from but as a player I feel like a struggle with being able to do what you intended. This is going to be a bit critical and please know I don't mean any disrespect to the work the mods do. For me, the setting is so open that it almost feels empty and a bit aimless. It's hard for example, to change a nonexistent government if I'm not exactly clear what the government is doing there at all and what the purpose is. It's hard to feel like you're impacting something if you don't really know what's there to be impacted.
I know the goal was to create openness but at the same time, I don't think constraints are necessarily bad. On the Moira, I had a clear idea of how the ship function and how things would impact it and what the purpose and goals of the characters were. Sometimes it's fun to try to think of what your character would do under constraints. That's the appeal of a jamjar game really. Not that I'm advocating a return to the Moira or anything, but just that it might help to introduce some elements that ground Savrou as a setting and give players something bounce off of and make it feel more like a place where the characters are rather than just a setting.
Of course, I can't speak for everyone, this is just my opinion and the opinions of a few people I've spoken to. Thanks for listening!
