MOD CHANGES
Headmod apps have officially closed, and we're glad to announce that Jaina (current player of OU Nathan Drake) will be joining our mod team. Jaina will be taking over calendar duties and helping with apps, in addition to the more general plot- and game-running shared across the team. We hope you're as excited as we are about this!
MOD APPS
...are, ironically, re-opening. This month, we're looking for list mod candidates, as one of our current list mods, Marie, is stepping down. We'd like to offer a huge thanks for all her work with the game, and encourage anyone interested to drop an application on the feedback page. The form can be found below:
MAY PLOTTING
As last month's plot ran longer than usual, the main logpost for May will be going up slightly later than usual. Due to the mod team changes and getting Jaina up to speed, the calendar is not quite ready; you can expect it in the very near future, but we wanted to get this post up ASAP so players aren't out of the loop on behind the scenes activity. A CR meme will also go up with the log, so get ready! Additionally, while the main logpost is slightly delayed, that doesn't mean all game plot is on hold. An NPC post related to both the events of last month and of this one will also go up on the network shortly.
APPLICATION SCHEDULE (PLEASE READ!)
As of this month, Thisavrou will be transitioning back to the original monthly application cycle. Applications will be open during the last week of every months, and reserves during the week prior. New characters will arrive at the beginning of each month. However, as we're aware this is a sudden change to spring on players, there will be a ten-day grace period before we switch over to the new/old system.
What this means? This months, apps will continue to be open until May 10. They will be closed on the 11th, and stay closed through the middle of the month, before re-opening May 25th. The 25th-31st will be our app period this month, with reserves re-opening one week before: the 18th-24th. For further confusion, check out the calendar, or drop a question below!
ACTIVITY CHECK
...is now open! As a reminder, AC is open from the first to seventh of every month, but due to the delays on our end we will be extending AC by one day. All characters accepted prior to the end of the month (April, in this case) are required to check in. If you have any questions, or are having trouble making AC, feel free to contact the mods here or on the feedback post.

Some information will have clearance restrictions, so unless a PC is of extremely high clearance, they might not be in a position to know everything. But if they have known medical expertise and the skills to make themselves useful, they can volunteer to assist with tests and decontamination procedures. You're asking on Adrien's behalf, correct?

His got experience with contagions, they're something of a pet peeve of his, so this would be something he'd want to help with; probably with a side of 'how the f*** did this happen'.
He tipped over to Clvl 4 this month.

Questions about how the fuck will unfortunately receive nothing better than rumor-- though most of Adrien's coworkers are fairly convinced it was the asteroid. Whether the contaminant was a weapon or an accident, released by the commune or used to destroy them too... opinions vary. One technician who transferred from the Ingress claims that the asteroid had it much worse than here, but is irritatingly close-mouthed about details.
There is also a betting pool on the issue, if Adrien would like to weigh in.

Just to clarify by "his" center we mean his clinic, not Kauto Region One hospital?
If asked to weigh in on the betting pool (nice dark humor there guys, I love it!) he would put a couple sencs down on 'weapon' and released on purpose by whoever up the food chain had the most to gain.
Because he's a paranoid SOB
ETA: I totally understand if it's more trouble than it's worth, and will be happy to shelve it as an idea, but I wanted to ask. If Adrien explains he has the ability to get into "hot zones" for 10 minutes, and offers to do so, at the direction of TOD/ TODs superiors, if it would help extract any "clarifying data", would this be an offer they'd take him up on?

Paranoia noted! The nurse running the betting pool will mark down his bet and give him favorable odds-- most of the center is betting on "accident".
Re: "hot zones", the answer is a little yes, and a little no. On the one hand-- TOD will absolutely be interested, and probably pepper Adrien with questions and record every word. On the other, at present, there are no obvious or widespread hot zones to assess. The outbreak is being assessed on the level of individuals, and the contaminant itself hasn't resurfaced in such an obvious or blatant way as to make quarantining it a possibility. However, if Adrien would come forth with this capability regardless, there's a chance he would be contacted about it at a later date.

Niiiccceeee odds.
Can we count him as being forthcoming? He'll make the offer, I'm assuming he'll be told what you just ran down for me here, but then TOD will be aware of his capability for a later date?

As stated on the log, patients exposed to the contaminant are showing no obvious effects of its (former?) presence. Medical examination of the patients, and even samples taken from their digestive tracts now show no signs of any material outside their own body.
What does register? Very slight alterations to the hormone levels. Regardless of species, the endocrine and adrenal systems (or equivalents thereof) show minor, but consistent disturbances. If Adrien is familiar with the neurochemistry of enough of his patient base, he may be able to recognize the similarity to some types of withdrawal.
As the effect is similar to other neurochemical imbalances (anxiety and depression as well), it's not being treated as a certain identifier, but patients who show consistently matching test results are questioned more severely in the hopes of discovering a link.

Sorry this is late, life continues to have me as its bitch. But I wanted to follow-up on a few things.
1) Adrien raised his hand in 76's IC post to offer to help. I was wondering if any of what we've discussed here already could be used to help the team's effort to track and trap the hazard? Or if it would just be interesting information.
2) Courser is a highly skilled tracker, with an animal's sense of smell (ie naturally above and beyond that of human) is there any contribution he could bring to the hunting.
I apologize if these questions are sort of vague, they've just come up as I'm getting up to speed with everything.

1) If you can think of a way it would be useful, you're welcome to apply it? Without jumping through half a dozen inferences (and more than a few plot secrets), there's not much we can spell out in that regard.
2) Courser would absolutely be welcome to help with the hunting! Unless he has a way to scent a sample of the contaminant, we're not sure how he would apply that sense of smell, however.
Getting up to speed is totally understandable, and feel free to come back to this as more specific options develop. We'd suggest checking out the plotting thread with 76 below, if you haven't already!
