mod update

MAY

MOD CHANGES

Headmod apps have officially closed, and we're glad to announce that Jaina (current player of OU Nathan Drake) will be joining our mod team. Jaina will be taking over calendar duties and helping with apps, in addition to the more general plot- and game-running shared across the team. We hope you're as excited as we are about this!

MOD APPS

...are, ironically, re-opening. This month, we're looking for list mod candidates, as one of our current list mods, Marie, is stepping down. We'd like to offer a huge thanks for all her work with the game, and encourage anyone interested to drop an application on the feedback page. The form can be found below:

MAY PLOTTING

As last month's plot ran longer than usual, the main logpost for May will be going up slightly later than usual. Due to the mod team changes and getting Jaina up to speed, the calendar is not quite ready; you can expect it in the very near future, but we wanted to get this post up ASAP so players aren't out of the loop on behind the scenes activity. A CR meme will also go up with the log, so get ready! Additionally, while the main logpost is slightly delayed, that doesn't mean all game plot is on hold. An NPC post related to both the events of last month and of this one will also go up on the network shortly.

APPLICATION SCHEDULE (PLEASE READ!)

As of this month, Thisavrou will be transitioning back to the original monthly application cycle. Applications will be open during the last week of every months, and reserves during the week prior. New characters will arrive at the beginning of each month. However, as we're aware this is a sudden change to spring on players, there will be a ten-day grace period before we switch over to the new/old system.

What this means? This months, apps will continue to be open until May 10. They will be closed on the 11th, and stay closed through the middle of the month, before re-opening May 25th. The 25th-31st will be our app period this month, with reserves re-opening one week before: the 18th-24th. For further confusion, check out the calendar, or drop a question below!

ACTIVITY CHECK

...is now open! As a reminder, AC is open from the first to seventh of every month, but due to the delays on our end we will be extending AC by one day. All characters accepted prior to the end of the month (April, in this case) are required to check in. If you have any questions, or are having trouble making AC, feel free to contact the mods here or on the feedback post.

SO, Zer0 here has volunteered to help 76 and crew track down the hideous blob thing (things?? Is it just the one or are more people horking them up idek). As per 76's suggestion, he's going to begin his search in Region Four, focusing primarily on places like sewer/maintenance areas and similar places until he meets up with the rest of the group.

He isn't bringing extra equipment, just relying on his own skill set for his tracking, one of which allows him to see enemies like THIS. It's super handy for tracking things in low visibility situations, and even highlights weak points. Fun times. It works on organic enemies, machines, and even things that are invisible to the naked eye. My question is; is this an ability that will be helpful in locating the biohazard, or maybe just picking up some sort of trail it could have left behind? Like idk infected space rats or something I'm basically open to everything.

There is no in-game lore for it, which is super helpful right now right (except not), so all I really have to go off of is in game experience.

Ally characters don't appear highlighted. Enemies that die while the ability is active do appear highlighted, but if it's deactivated and then reactivated, that same dead enemy will no longer be highlighted. So in a combat situation at least, it prioritizes active threats. I'm assuming it's an ability that he has some level of control over, like it's something programmable.

As for detecting invisible things, that part's probably just cool handwavy assassin powers, but it could just be something as simple as picking up heat signatures. We could just roll with that to keep things simple.

Also I should probably note that something needs to be within his line of sight for it to work. If an enemy ducks behind cover while the ability is active, Zer0 can't see them again until they pop back out. It's not like x-ray vision.

As for the asteroid, I was kind of on the fence about it since I never got around to threading anything out, but sure, why not. He would have just done a little exploring, he wouldn't have really stopped to talk to anyone or attend the party/eat anything while there. Therefore he assumes he's fine and hasn't gone in for decontamination. A+ life choices.
