Ingress travel can be disorienting, but there’s no need to worry! All side effects are temporary and lessen with each trip. Your body may experience several sensations at once: being pushed forward as if a hand is resting on your back, momentary and startling blindness, a gentle ringing in your head. You may have difficulty discerning whether it is hot or cold, but where you have been prodded is noticeably warmer than the rest of you. Some may suffer from dizziness while others are perfectly fine. You notice that the area you are in is filled with a soft cerulean light and feels slightly humid and dark despite the glow around you. Regardless of your current state, however, the stress of initial Ingress travel forces your body into unconsciousness.
Waking up is another story. Or maybe it isn’t.
You find yourself in a nondescript room; sometimes with others who have found themselves in the same situation, sometimes alone. A medical tech is always present to explain what’s happened before giving you some clothes, a TAB, and a guide that discusses things in further detail. This entire process also consists of a complete work-up of medical history and current health in order to obtain your signature—a specific frequency that will allow them to hone in on exactly where it is you’re from in order to get you back there. You spend your first week on the Ingress Complex while other accommodations and arrangements are made for you.

phanos
⋆ Phanos is classified as Exploration Class (EC) and is open to all travelers. The dry heat on the planet is overwhelming, but it's important that as many people as possible visit so that scientists can track down the origin of a strong signal pulsing somewhere on the planet. Its frequency indicates that if it is found, Ingress engineers may be able to hone in on people's signatures to send them home. However, frequent dust storms on the planet's surface are causing interference. It is strongly advised that investigators visit in groups—and keep their mouths closed!

He doesn't for a moment consider telling her the whole truth. Not least of all because he's not ready to explain it himself. But this would be too much to confront her with at once, when she doesn't even truly understand her situation yet.
So he won't lie, and he has confidence that the parts he omits would hardly be suspected by her. After all, who would believe them?]
Neriel. Nobody worth mentioning beyond that. [He pauses, considering.] There are others of your entourage here. Would you like an explanation before or after I direct you to them?

Although thoughts on his identity come to a grinding halt as he continues speaking of her entourage, her companions. Friends all gone to their separate corners of Thedas leading their lives outside the Inquisition. Her chest aches with a distant longing and she frowns. ]
I would like to know what you mean by that. [ She pauses, shoulders lowering a fraction. ] Please, any information you could provide I will greatly appreciate.

He doesn't want to think about that.
Only the basics first, then.]
It's another world. Not Thedas. This Ingress you came through, it's--a little like the eluvians. [And he's not going to stop to let her linger on that thought.] And there's no way to get back, as far as we know. We're stuck here. You, me, everyone.
[He offers her a thin, grim smile.] I wish I had better news.

Of all the times to stumble into such a mess it had to be now, didn't it? Now when the world stands on edge of ruin.
Old Dalish curses sit on the edge of her tongue, it almost makes her laugh bitterly that they are what come first, that she thinks to hiss out the Dread Wolf's now knowing all that she does. Instead she simply bites her lip and shakes her head. ]
Well, at least I don't have to worry myself about the fate of the world anymore.
[ In the end she cannot help but let some of that bitterness bleed through. ]

Then, however, he finds he can't hold out any longer, and he takes a long, slow inhale, as if he's bracing himself for something.]
I apologize for the change in subject, but could I ask your given name?
no subject
Sahlin.

For a long moment, he forgets to even breathe. It almost feels like his heart itself forgets to beat.
Of course it would be her. Of all the ones that could have come through, it would be her. When he remembers to breathe, to move again, it feels like resurfacing from drowning. He's numb, and he feels himself turning away from her so she can't see his expression like his body isn't even his.
His mouth moves of its own accord.]
Y-You'll want to see Solas then, I imagine.

[ All of her thoughts seem to come to a sudden halt then, her breath catching in her throat and her fingers curling tightly around her arm. He's here, somehow he is here. Mouth partly agape Sahlin shivers, an icey coldness washing over her and seeping deep into her bones.
She does want to see him, she truly does, and yet─
And yet she doesn't.
There is a knot in her throat and an ache in her chest. ]
I... I don't know.

Still, something bitter rises at the back of his throat. Because Neriel knows how much Solas misses her, and how much she must miss him, and here she is being difficult anyway. He was hurt the same way that she was, and at least she has the luxury of that hurt being acknowledged for what it is. The least she could do is appreciate what she has.
No. Stupid. Stupid. Shut up. It's more complicated than that. He knows it is.
He decides to avoid the subject entirely, trying to act like it truly means nothing to him either way.]
Well, then, is there somewhere else you'd rather I take you?
