Waking up is another story. Or is it?
Certainly, it's not where you are now.
sleep, perchance to...
You have to be. Certainly, you don't remember arriving in this strange, dim forest of your own accord. Gnarled trees form a solid barrier and a thin cage blocking the sky, silvery light illuminating the ground below in patchwork on all sides. The path beneath you seems to stretch out ahead and back for an eternity, though a light (an exit?) can be seen in the distance. Movement too, down the myriad array of branching side roads.
If you hurry, you can catch up.
* Take the Path:
No matter how quickly you travel, you won't ever reach that glow of light on the horizon. You may, however, encounter other walkers in the night. Friends, foes, strangers. Whoever is sharing your dreaming vigil, you might be grateful for the company. Certainly it's better than the feeling you get traveling alone: a prickle of paranoia and the sense that something just past view is watching.
* Less Traveled By:
The roads lead nowhere. The prickle at the back of your neck hasn't ceased. They're out there; they're watching you, and it's infuriating. But you can stop them. You can break free of it all.
The trees are firm and unyielding, but eventually, your efforts force them to give way. Through cut limbs and snapped branches, magic or agility or sheer, brute strength, you make a hole large enough to crawl through. And just as quickly, you realize your mistake.
The trees aren't there to keep you in.
Inky darkness roils from the gap between the paths, looking to devour you. If you run, it follows. If you hide, it seeks. It calls in voices only you can hear: your friends and your tormentors, the cries of everyone you've left behind. Find help to face your nightmares, or be consumed by them.
* All the Difference:
The light in the distance might still be out of reach, but through long searching, you've found a different sort of exit. Fog chokes off this opening between the trees, thick and obscuring. One step into the mist, and you lose all sight of anything outside it.
Two steps? Three? Ten? You're not sure how many it took before the world around you began to change. Perhaps you've found yourself in someone's worst moments. Perhaps you've landed in a fantasy. Perhaps this is your dream, with a stranger's face or voice intruding. Either way, you'll have to work together to get out.

Please Note: due to the chaotic nature of upcoming events, players who intend to preserve their threads for game use should not assume they were given the usual introduction to Thisavrou at the Ingress Complex. The above scenarios are, however, valid as game canon.
As always, be kind and have fun!

[Yondu figured he was the one with the questions. He's been fending off his pissed off crew for a while now, half of them hankering for Peter's blood and the other half with Yondu on the hopes Peter'd come back into the fold.]
[He's been having to deal with that, and Peter's the one that put him in the position. How is it that Quill's the one with questions?]
[The only reason he doesn't actually start mouthing off to him about it is the fact he's never seen Quill that distress. Well, he takes that back, but whenever he has it's sure as hell not been good.]
A'right. ETA in 5. You ain't got nobody chasin' you, do ya? [Because one would think from that expression.]
no subject
I'll be there.
[He was honestly half-expecting Yondu to not be there, that this was all a trick, cloned images and vocal patterns cleverly manipulated, or worse, this was all in his head. Maybe he'd finally cracked, maybe what Ego did to him had awful side-effects. Ayesha had called his genetics reckless, he was apparently the only one of his kind, who knew what might happen to him because of it.
Out of who knows how many kids. Dead, all cause of Ego. Yondu felt guilty about his part in it, enough to take him in--Peter drew in a sharp breath. Denial was something he was good at, he'd avoided going to earth, he'd avoided opening his mom's last present...here was a chance, maybe...maybe if this was the real deal...
He turned to go towards the cleaning, his jaw set. He'd be here in five, standing against a tree and trying to look vaguely cool.]

[Thoughts of Ego only flitted through his head once in a while. He never saw the personification of that prick again. Just fucked off into the universe with his brat kid and taught the boy to take care of himself. Hell, it wasn't like he could just drop him off and let who the hell ever watch out for him? How quick was it what he got picked up from Terra? Without someone out there that could chase him down or without the ability to take care of his own damn self, he'd end up another pile of bones.]
[That's what Yondu's told himself for a very long time.]
[Still telling himself, really, as he wanders into that field. His fin is the old style one, not the prototype that Rocket helped attach to him. And he's walking with more purpose than swagger, that sort of way that makes it pretty clear he's not intending to play around with whatever might be waiting on him.]
So you got yanked up by this Ingress whatsit too, right? You run into anybody else yet?
no subject
Hey, Yondu.
[This was nuts... Was this really happening? He notices the old style fin.]
The what now? No, man, I just woke up here. No idea how I got here...you're the only person I've seen yet.
[Maybe he too was dead and this was some kind of afterlife? At this point Peter really wouldn't be surprised if it was.]
So...uh...what's the last thing you remember before coming here?
no subject
The got this thing called the "Ingress". Sorta like a portal doorway. Bastards are pretty finicky with it, too. Enough to throw a fit when it's touched. But it brought me to their place and I'm bettin' it kicked us out here.
[But Peter does look pretty on edge. Not that someone wouldn't when they were dropped hip deep in a pile of shit but he's more serious than usual. Something's pressing on him harder than he'd expect.]
So the rat didn't come with ya, huh? Nor any of the others I reckon.
Well, none of the crew are here except for you. So it's just me an' you to figure this out.
no subject
I musta been knocked the hell out then, cause I don't remember anything like that.
[A pause, and a shake of his head. He's not pleased his friends aren't here, either.]
Naw. No one. It's weird.
[He looks off towards the woods, chewing on his lip and looking upset when he thought Yondu wouldn't be able to see him.]
Maybe I'm dreaming. [He mutters this.]
no subject
[He turns with agitation, examining the area around them. Who the hell knows, anymore. He hadn't been around but a week and these stuck up asswipes had decided to boot him off to some hell planet with the whole group of 'em. Only it was a simulation.] If you are we just gotta keep playin' around with their dumbass game. They'll turn the simulation off eventually. Teach whatever they think is a lesson an' get over themselves.
[But if this is a simulation this time he's just going to render the guy that meets them at the end into swiss cheese.]
[Whatever swiss cheese is.]
'Cmon, Quill. Let's have a look around. Might be somethin' useful. What's the matter with you?
[Why is he so damn upset? He's catching these moments, and honestly it's starting to concern him. In that Yondu way that only someone who knows him knows how to look for it.]
no subject
Nothin'. Nothing's the matter, man, just...
[Should he tell him? What if he told him and it like...ruined everything? What if Yondu wasn't really real and this was a dream, and he just messed it all up? He was clearly catching onto his weird mood.]
...I just... [He scratched his head, frowning.]
Yeah, let's go have a look around.
[He'd give it a few more minutes. See if anything else happened to explain this. If not, then he'd confront him about it.
Gee, that was gonna go so well, wouldn't it? Hey Yondu, how come you're alive?]
no subject
[He's about half a moment from giving a good, Out with it, boy! before Quill suddenly rushes to get down to business.]
The Savrii are the ones what made this Ingress thing, right? [He starts walking.] So these pieces of shit wardens or intermediaries or whatever they are decide that the whole lot of us are trouble 'cause a couple of these idiots got a wild hair up their ass to mess with their cash cow.
So all of us gotta go, all of us. An' they throw us in a big ol' tube of water an make us think we're somewhere we ain't.
I'd just showed up. And this is how I got dicked around for it.
[He looks over to Peter. Somethin' definitely isn't right with him.]
