ABOARD THE MOIRA
Whether adjusting to space travel has been difficult or not, there is always something to be done. From working to leisure, the Moira offers a multitude of opportunities to get to know your crewmates a bit better. Exploration of the ship is highly encouraged, but as another planet grows closer to being docked, things start to get a little hectic. You'll notice a slight change in the artificial gravity as the Moira is pulled into a gravitational field; however, more noticeable changes can be found in the overall morale as you prepare to descend.
☄ buddiesDue to several incidents recent to the ship, the captains have instructed all current crew members to "help" the new arrivals from the Ingress to the Medbay and anywhere else they may need to go—until they find their space legs. The senior member will be responsible for making sure all appropriate questions are answered and assist them in getting their uniforms. Yet, it seems there's a sudden shortage of anything wearable and everything else will be found in any of the laundry rooms throughout the decks. Nothing says getting to know your buddy like taking turns washing the clothes you're going to be stuck in for the length of your journey aboard the Moira. ☄ on your ownThere are plenty of other communal areas on the ship to explore! Pick a place, and see where it takes you.
Traveling the depths of space does come with its dangers, and one of those happens to be repairing parts of the ship damaged by debris or making routine checks on essential units to ensure they are functioning as correctly as all reports are reading. One of the most important aspects of the Moira happens to be its wings, which are located near the tower. They are the core of the ship's energy, and without them, most of its life support and navigation systems would cease to work. However, maintenance on these delicate structures is no easy task...
☄ spacewalkDue to a shortage of crew available in the crow's nest, others have been asked to put on a suit and carefully check the status of the wings as well as repair (or replace) any of the panels that encompass their makeup, if need be. Think of this as an exercise in enforcing that buddy-system the captains have put into place. Do you trust the person out there with you to keep you anchored to the ship? Or will you float away into the abyss of space? ☄ flareWithout proper warning, the light of a close star has suddenly increased output significantly in the form of a solar flare, causing the wings to respond accordingly. They brighten, growing considerably hotter, enough to warrant a warning from your MID, and to contain such a sharp intake of energy, they expand automatically—a safety mechanism built into the ship. Those in the Tower tell those outside to return immediately, but the command might come too late, the response in the wings having blinded and knocked you from your holding on the side of the ship. The suits are only connected to Navigation and Medbay via your thermals and MIDs, so hopefully someone is watching. Or did you listen to the captains and have that buddy out there with you?
( Any of these scenarios can be used as in-game canon. )

[ Not that there was much of a plan to begin with, but anyway. ]
We were on a planet a few months back. Caducus Primary. Very beautiful place, but... very fragile. It was made of glass, the entire planet. [ He speaks of it in a bitter, mournful tone now. He keeps telling himself it was brittle as if that one day will make him feel better about not having been able to stop any of it from happening - but it won't. ]
The natives asked us to leave. They said the ship had been there before, and had taken some valuable glass figures from them. [ He knows that was likely true, now - those very figures are locked up in some room somewhere, on this very ship, he knows that thanks to Peridot now. ] We should have left right away.
[ He bites his lips for a moment, fingers twined, before he looks up at her. The guilt over what happened is clear in every line of his face, and she will realize why the moment he finishes the story. ] I destroyed it. I was triggered, and the Hulk destroyed the entire planet out of orbit.

A glass planet... Of course it couldn't hold up if the Hulk decided to make an appearance. The tragedy is too great to even wrap her head around. A whole world gone.
And Bruce has to live with being the man who destroyed it.
It reminds her of Jessica, and all the guilt she lives with because of the things that Kilgrave made her do. ]
Oh, you poor man.
[ She suspects he wouldn't like if she gave him a hug, but she really wants to. ]

He doesn't like being pitied. It's a whole world that weighs on his shoulders, and as far as he's concerned, he deserves to carry it all on his own. But there's a strange kind of comfort in the way she looks at him, in the tone of her voice, even when the words themselves normally would have been enough for him to frown inwardly. ]
It's fine.
[ It's not. He destroyed a planet, and killed nearly everyone in it. It will never be fine. ]
I am having so many feelings ;;
[ Her hand lowers and she pulls his shirt tighter arou d herself again, wrapping her arms around herself as if through hugging his garment on her own body, she can somehow make him feel it. ]
Don't do that. You don't have to.
suffer with meeeee
[ Pretend like it's alright? Well, what else is he going to do with someone he's just met? He's definitely not going to dump the weight of his guilt and self-loathing on her, that's for sure. Especially knowing she's just gotten here, and has her own issues to deal with. ]
I'm not doing anything.
I aaaaaaaam
Hypocritical? Yep. But she's never claimed to be perfect. ]
Yeah you are, you're trying to pretend that you're okay even though you're clearly not, and I get it, you don't know me but... Oh, fuck it.
[ She makes her way over to him, completely ignoring the fact that neither of them is wearing much, and she gives the man a hug. ]
You're not alone either.
;u;
Nearly everyone on the ship is little more than a stranger to him too, at best he has some friends, but certainly no one close enough to talk to about all this. With Trish it's even more difficult to do that, since they've literally just met and he's yet to feel comfortable around her, let alone trust her.
Which is why the sudden approach surprises him, and he freezes in place, his entire body tensing when her arms wrap around him. He can't muster the will to push her away, even though that's what a good part of him wants to do-- instead, he just stands there, stunned into silence, his head tipping just a little so that he can look at her. ]
... I know. [ She's just not the first person he'd have thought of, but... he does appreciate the words. A hand lifts up, hesitantly resting on her side, though it's barely there. ]
no subject
Wow, I am so sorry, this was just way out of line of me. I would probably have punched me if I were you.
[ Okay not on purpose but some self-defence mechanism might very well have kicked in. ]
no subject
Good to know. I'll keep that in mind if I ever get the same urge to hug you without warning.
[ He wouldn't, not really. But he's just trying to lighten things up a little here. ]
no subject
You have earned yourself one punch-free surprise hug by being way too nice about me totally invading your personal space without asking first.
no subject
[ A little awkward too, and even more so now when he considers how their current situation makes it all seem even more ridiculous. He huffs in amusement at the thought, shaking his head a little. ]
no subject
[ And she has a feeling she will get the urge again because he is a very sad man and she tends to want to help people who are in pain. ]
no subject
Thanks. I appreciate that.
[ He's kind of assuming she's joking there, though he does wonder. Maybe she's just a hugger, who knows. Whether or not he'd like that, it's something he still has to figure out. ]
It should be done soon. [ He gestures at the machine, just so she knows what he's talking about. ]
no subject
[ Said with dry humor. ]
Seriously though... If you ever want to just talk to someone, I'll listen.
no subject
[ That was really the farthest thing from his mind, when he felt her arms around him, but then that had been a unique situation. He looks at her, obvious that he heard what she told him, but in the end he chooses not to address it with anything more than a halfhearted nod. ]
Where are you headed next?
no subject
I have no clue. I guess I'll just... wander around and get familiar with where everything is.
no subject
[ It's not as if he has any obligations waiting for him right now, and he's enjoyed her company so far. It's pretty nice to know they come from the same world, too. ]
I mean, I'm sure you're hating being stuck here so far, but the ship does have a few nice spots.
no subject
[ She's just kidding of course, hopefully her almost teasing little smile communicates that clearly enough. ]
no subject
[ He says that with a light smile of his own too, not taking her words seriously at all.
The machine starts speeding up the drying process, letting Bruce know that it shouldn't be much longer for them to get their clothes. Thankfully. Standing around in just a shirt isn't exactly his favorite pastime. ]
no subject
[ She's joking, but not entirely. She is a new yorker after all. She was there when the chitauri attacked. ]
In that case, a tour sounds great.
no subject
The machine draws to a halt a few seconds after, and at the beep, Bruce gets the door open, taking out both their uniforms. They're warm to the touch, a more than welcome sensation right now. ]
Here. [ He hands over her uniform, then goes about putting on his, pants first. ]
no subject
Actually it's a lot like a more mild-mannered version of her past self. She used to be so hostile about truly letting anyone get close to her. Jess kind of changed all that. Trish feels a little like it's a favor she has yet to return. ]
Thanks.
[ She shrugs off his shirt and folds it neatly before getting into her civies, sighing in relief at the warmth. ]
I didn't even realise I was getting cold.
no subject
You weren't here a couple of months ago - we had constant power outages and the ship was freezing cold almost everywhere. Actualy those power outages were what had the Ploiatos breaking out and roaming around the ship.
[ Thinking back to that, Bruce doesn't think he'll ever feel as cold as he did during those couple of weeks. It was horrible and practically impossible to cope with. ]
no subject
[ She's not feeling too hopeful, but she has to ask.
Fully dressed, she holds out her arms and does a little spin. ]
So, how do I look?
no subject
[ Never mind that they didn't even know it was there to begin with. Bruce is trying not to think too much on just how many creatures, and how dangerous, there might be on board right now, locked away just like the Ploiatus. That would make for a lot of sleepless nights.
He looks her up and down briefly, amused at the little twirl. ]
You look very nice. It's flattering on you. [ Better than his shirt anyway, which he's now putting into a small bag, along with the one he was wearing. ]
