Network Organization/plot post

Alright folks, this is a call for tech-minded characters. I asked the mods about it here, initially regarding Flynn's initial forays, and have touched base with a few more people regarding a fix.
Flynn will be quite upfront about not having the skill to handle this behemoth on his own, and intends to reach out to others, so, here's where you come in!
If your character has experience building, repairing, modding tech stuff or has a skill set that can help get the Avagi network up and running, then please feel free to tag in here, let us know who they are, and what they can do. This is also a place to plot if you'd like to thread anything with your fellow tech brosises, or handwave anything.
Any questions, please let me know too.

He hasn't been involved with it as much in this game simply because it's not where he was originally assigned (he was an intelligence officer, then very briefly Head of Tower on the Moira), then started his own business on Kauto that was more in the direction of his canon occupation -- he did do some stuff with Alan briefly around the time of the slavery plot, to help triangulate the locations of missing characters. But spy and detective stuff is not really currently feasible.
So, while I've been sick since the new stuff went up and haven't really had the opportunity to do anything with it, this is something I would like to get him involved in! At this point, he has a ton of both hardware and software experience and also experience working specifically with alien tech on communications systems via reverse engineering and so on. What he doesn't really do is building hardware from the ground up -- he's more used to hacking existing components and software and security.
That said, he would not be interested in spearheading this kind of project, and neither am I. But participating in it is pretty much the natural direction for him in this setting as it stands, so I'm looking forward to working on it with the other interested parties.

Tony will be interested in helping with this for sure, because life without a network is hell. He's good with both the hardware and software portions and would be willing to help with any of the physical/mechanical grunt work OR programming that needs to be done, but his real point of interest will probably be network security. He'll want to make sure they're good and shielded from external threats on the grounds that he's not convinced they don't still have enemies out there. TRUST NO ONE.
So he'd definitely help with getting the network up, but he'll make himself truly obnoxious about making sure it's secure once it IS up. He's good with as much collab as necessary to get it done, so if anyone wants to thread anything I'm super down, but handwaving is always fine too!!

(as soon as I come back I've been meaning to hit his prompts up in last week's log!)

His best use would be more in the hardware, I think. Repairing broken parts, figuring out replacements for things that are irreparable. As long as it's metal, that is. Anything silicon or plastic he'd not be much help lol. Other than suggesting alloys to replace the silicon or plastic because he has Opinions about such things.

On the nitty-gritty side of things, he's more a software guy, so he'll be hip deep in programming. Despite his genius, he's still accustomed to 1989 levels of tech, but he's a quick learner and a guy who's accustomed to doing a lot (see: The Grid) with less.

she'll mostly be working with hardware, as programming isn't her strong suit

Don't mind handwaving stuff or playing it out
tho I'm no engineering genius so fudging and glossing details may occur.no subject
He's no Tony Stark buthe's canonically pretty skilled at retrograde technology and converting systems that shouldn't be compatible, so I think he's at least a pretty decent hardware guy for you at this point. That's what Ravagers do, they just patch things together and make them work, so he's fairly familiar with different types of tech (even more modern things that his obsession with bad, old music players kind of masks).I assume, given that he's technically coming from a criminal background that he's familiar enough with privacy programming/software and stuff as well, but I def think the hardware is more where his expertise here is.

She was working with the Savrii as an Ingress technician and picking up what she could along the way, so she might be somewhat familiar with the Ingress Complex bits that go into all this.

Ratchet is a dyed in the wool engineer. He's had no formal training (so it might be fun for him to learn a thing or two from the more academically learned engineers/programmers), but he's been working on this kin of thing since he was a kid with a biological knack for it vis-Ã -vis his species. His area of expertise is wiring and hardware. Give him gruntwork like stripping wires (he'll complain, but he'll do it... probably) or have him take on some actually difficult projects that require a conceptual bent, he's the kind of engineer that will try a lot of different things that might be outside the realm of efficiency but might also open unforeseen doors. His programming code is messy af to someone who has actually been taught how to do it, but that's it's own sort of fun. What, you don't name your programming variables over cute girls? whatever.
He's also had a separate project on board the ship where he's been modifying existing taskbots and reworking their programming/hardware for various purposes. If given direction with this project, he might focus in that freeform experimenting to a staff of taskbots that can run routine maintenance on the completed network? Might be fun!
But basically, I'm pretty open to anything, I just really want to get Ratchet involved in things more his skill-set, and feeling like he's helping in some way!

That said, he definitely knows his programming as well and has used the skills extensively in instances that called for hacking or programming entirely new software. He's also resolved cross-platform compatibility between his Omni-tool and general Sav tech.
He is currently working full-time trying to map out everything down in Life Support and Sanitation, but he is very willing to come up and help out.
