Notes: Uh so this dude's been stuck in a quagmire of absolutely shitballs rock bottom mental health for a good several months now, and an ongoing concern of mine is how much of a drag this is on potential thread partners. I have been reassured I worry about this too much, but even so, I would appreciate any and all feedback you'd feel fit to give me! Even if it's just tips on how to better balance it all or just a verbal slap in the face to get me to stop handwringing about it so much. My priority is always making sure everybody is enjoying my threads as much as I am, so please don't hesitate to let me know if he's coming off as A Bit Much. Thanks o/

That said, I would caution tipping too much into the urge to, I guess, keep adding to the damage? Plotting with him has felt, to me anyway, to be heaped more into the How Can Nelly Screw The Pooch Due To His Fail Elf Status pile, and not so much in the Nelly Gets a Win In Spite of Everything pile. That is where I can see the drag coming into play, and a kind of aimlessness to where his growth will go. Honestly, it would have the same drag if Nelly was always the winner 5ever- it's all about the balancing act. Nelly can and will still struggle, and one good day won't erase his personal horrors (or even two days or three or a week etc), but I definitely feel he needs some more ups to complement the downs. So I caution the urge to shoot right into Bad End post-amnesia plot, and maybe cultivate the bits of green poking from the soil, if only to add a little air and light to Nelly's darkness.

I definitely admit I have a tendency to throw myself into new things without considering the long-term consequences just because I like being involved in the game, which is how I keep ending up with Yet Another Pile Of Bad Shit to deal with, so I agree that it will help to cool my jets and consider more how I get him involved in things to avoid it blowing up in his face so much later down the line. I absolutely want him to get a win for once too and the sooner the better, lol.

Notes: I'm taking Erik from a pretty different canon point than most of the ones I've seen around DW. While at his point he's definitely a lot more chill than at other points in the movies, I don't want to make him too nice. Also Kelly Ann is a young woman but she's 22 and has been on her own since she was 18. I worry that I'm making her a bit too young and naïve-sounding.

Notes: Tex has been in a long-term relationship in game, which has softened her some, as well as going through the process of recovery from a bad injury (the human body she uses fell from atmosphere in an escape pod and crashed, leaving the body in a cryostasis coma for a year because of game events). Because of this, she's not quite as rash as she is in canon, although she does still put herself in a state of danger if it means protecting someone else.

Notes: Maine found out a lot of nasty stuff about his future immediately after his arrival. That, plus a two month trauma train, has influenced his development quite a bit. Thankfully, he's on the upswing and has a renewed sense of purpose, so hopefully that's coming across well in recent threads!

Post-trauma train, I've started working on tagging out with him more, since my biggest self-identified weakness is building CR outside of the RvB cast. Any feedback is very welcome!

Notes: I'm well aware that my speed is continually an up-and-down issue (but that should, god I hope, change with recent culling of some of my other time sinks).
Charles is complicated, and I know it's been a point of minor contention before wrt how open (or in this case really isn't about his abilities. He's growing out of a bit of it: there are other power sets here, the threat hasn't been exclusive to he and his here, and having it ripped away with no warning or recourse for a bit was a definite moment of pointing out how necessary it was. I am trying to move past this a bit, but I know the telepathy thing is complicated overall (especially considering how grossly godmode it could be if I used it to its logical conclusion, which I tend to refrain from) and I do worry about refraining almost too much? If you're frustrated with it IG, hmu.
With Peter, I just worry about becoming a little too stagnant (like with what happened last time), so I'm trying to keep the easy parts of his personality (the drinking, the karaoke, basically what makes him the guy at the bar you avoid and spend all night glaring at) to a relative minimum. It's still there, I just want to be able to build something that isn't just the superficial fun parts of his personality. (And I could be definitely screwing that up, so have at it).
Anakin hasn't really been around long enough to do much of anything with (again, speed, working on it). I am struggling a little--coming back to this was actually tougher than I expected when I know it like the back of my hand--but I think it may be a little too early to make a judgment call on what I'm wary about.

Notes: I know that tag speed and threads being dropped is an issue I have with Laura. I often have trouble with tags when they get to a small talk point, because Laura just isn't the type to small talk. IC-ly, she'd just slip away and I have trouble coming up with reasons why she'd keep engaging. This is something I'm going to be working on with her! Development wise, she's been in the game long enough and with her dad/x-fam long enough to start being a kid in some aspects. It's not my goal to let her come across as childish when she definitely isn't, but to have her mental & emotional development start catching up with her age. I worry there isn't enough in her tags to engage with, since she's not super talkative and doesn't really emote. I try to include some balance by putting her internal thoughts in the narration but I worry I'm going too much into that, so I've been cutting back on it - this has left my tags pretty short and that's something else I'm working on balancing!

Notes: I feel like Nate has fallen into a little bit of a rut in some ways—part of it is because of the lack of outside compelling forces and part of it is some bad things that happened to his loved ones (and it may also be me not putting enough of a conscious effort in), but either way his increased focus on them has left him a little more...hmm, not sure if insular is the word? But it ties into some past guilt about being a shitty friend and husband at his canon point and that's kind of pushed the part of him that is The Stalwart Guy Who Looks After His People to the forefront and left other aspects of his personality neglected. WOW LOOK AT ME NAVEL GAZE tl;dr I'm very seriously considering finally canon updating him to give him a more even keel, but I'm not going to rush into it. Just something that's been on my mind lately as I consider how I've portrayed Nate of late.

Notes: J's been in Savrou for almost two whole years so that means lot of stuff & development has happened. However, I do feel quite often that I'm quite stuck with her character. I feel like she's sort of in rut, she doesn't impress/interest other characters that much and that my tags are either boring or stagnant. And I would definitely like crit or suggestions regarding these issues -- especially when it comes to my writing.
Juri's brand new gal in this game and for me in general! I've had also few struggles there and also, similarly to J, wonder if I'm making my tags with her engaging with hooks or characterization!
Of course, if there's anything weighing your mind regarding more ooc related issues than ic you're welcome to point those out as well! I know my speed varies a lot but I think that this time of year is generally very busy and hectic to lot of people.

Notes: OOCly, I massively apologize for dropping the ball in the past 2 months or so— RL hit me fairly hard, but I won't use that as an excuse for my dropped threads and my spotty availability. I'm definitely trying to remain up to speed and timely now, so thank you for your patience! If you've had any issues, please don't hesitate to bring them to me at any time.
ICly speaking, Venom has been in the game for a little over a year and 3 months! He's gone through some developments with respect to being a bit more accustomed to civilian life, as well as confronting the issue of his identity. It's still a work in progress, and he's very much still a closed book with respect to a lot of aspects of himself; please let me know if this is something that's been difficult to thread with! As much as he's lowered his guard around some people, there are some barriers that remain up and hard to crack. I want to stay true to that facet of him, but I also acknowledge that this is RP and a bit of wiggle room is necessary to make things fun and engaging for my thread partners! So please let me know if there's anything I can do to make threading with me more enjoyable to you.
Karna, on the other hand, is brand-new! I'm taking him from a canon installation that's equal parts comedic and serious, so I'm trying to find a good balance— Karna is an innately serious-minded and upstanding person, but I'm also trying to work in some of the more lighthearted elements of him in the canon to make him less of a chore for others to slog through! Please tell me if I veer too much to one end of the spectrum, because I know I have a tendency towards being tongue-in-cheek in my brackets to diffuse some of the rigidity of my characters (the real question here is why i chose another stick in the mud to add to my roster, what the hell).
