INGRESS POSTAL ROULETTE: FAST-PENTA EDITION
HELLO EVERYONE I’m Madi and I play Miles Vorkosigan and this is Jackass and by Jackass I mean THE PLAYER PLOT I’VE BEEN TALKING ABOUT SINCE FOREVER
This month when mail comes around, Miles will be receiving a case full of hyposprays of fast-penta, a truth drug used for interrogation in his world. The case contains sixteen (16) hyposprays of the drug and two (2) hyposprays of the drug’s antagonist, each containing two (2) doses of the drug. Unfortunately, when Miles receives the case, it’ll be empty save for one hypospray of fast-penta. As wacky circumstances would have it, the rest of the hyposprays will wind up in the mailboxes of random crewmembers across the Moira. What those crewmembers do with the hyposprays -- trade them, sell them, keep them, use them -- is up to them. This is an opt-in plot only, so which characters receive hyposprays will be based on OOC signups.
ALL ABOUT FAST-PENTA

Fast-penta has long since replaced torture as a much more humane interrogation strategy. It poses much less of a threat to the subject’s health, and the information yielded by fast-penta interrogation is much more reliable. However, it is a truth drug in name only -- fast-penta is a powerful barbiturate that induces euphoria, removes inhibition and heightens free association. Subjects on fast-penta tend to talk endlessly in a stream-of-consciousness, freely voicing even their innermost and private thoughts as they spring to mind. Because subjects tend to ramble endlessly without intervention, interrogations under fast-penta are usually conducted by a trained interrogator who prompts them with questions and leading comments so as to extract relevant information. Because fast-penta is a powerful sedative, subjects are very cooperative and do not tend to resist interrogation. Most subjects will exhibit the hallmark “fast-penta smile”, a dreamy, dopey expression.
Fast-penta takes effect about 10 - 15 seconds after injection, and the effects usually last around 2 - 4 hours. Administering the antagonist will cause cause the effects of the drug to wear off within 10 minutes.
Allergies & Exceptions: Allergies to fast-penta, usually fatal, are uncommon but not unprecedented. Some human beings who have undergone extensive genetic modification are immune to the effects of fast-penta.
What if my character isn’t human? If your character isn’t human or only partly human, it’s up to you on whether or not they react to fast-penta the way human subjects would. They may have a resistance or particular sensitivity, be immune, or have some other reaction. Or it could be fatal to your character’s species! The Rule of Fun reigns supreme here.
Here’s how this shit is going down.
Come mail day on the 15th, all characters who were signed up will receive either a fast-penta hypospray or one of the hyposprays containing the antagonist -- who receives which will be randomly determined by RNG. Each hypospray comes with two doses of the drug and functions like a jet injector -- the injection site is usually the neck and uses a hyperpressure jet of the drug to deliver it intramuscularly, rather than by hypodermic needle. Each fast-penta hypospray will have this label affixed to it:

The label of the antagonist, pentaxone, is almost identical. It is labeled for use for "allergic reactions (anaphylaxis) to sodium pentanol" with the caution "If you must administer this drug, contact a medical professional immediately."
What you do with these hyposprays is up to you and your character. Shake it up! Use it for wild CR shenanigans! Hold onto it for future plot use! Everything to do with fast-penta is opt-in only, which means you don’t need to have your character be affected by the drug if you don’t want to.
