Flight Deck now open!
...or, well, Now Better Defined.
Greetings, people! My name is Sharn, player of Rinzler, the Moira's resident (murderbot and) recently promoted Transporter Supervisor. I'm here today to spam your reading pages with a few announcements. First and foremost: we have a new locations page for the Flight Deck!
Physically, the Flight Deck is a section of the Cargo Bay—specifically, the end by the giant doors where the Moira's transporters and other flightcraft get parked. It's the workplace for Transporter Techs and Transporter Pilots, and somewhere any character who's taken a ride down to the planets has seen (in various states of upgrade) as they've gone to load up. Information on the resources and ships, both new and old, can be found in the link.
That said, there's another update worth noting! The rules for transporter use have been only vaguely defined for a while; while some characters were assigned to fly them, there wasn't any official setup to let others learn—or to stop untrained people from borrowing the shuttles and crashing them into a wall. Rinzler's making use of his new responsibility to instate a more structured system, whereby non-transporter-crew that want to fly the vehicles themselves can receive training (if needed) and proficiency tests.
Once passed, they'll be given the access needed to borrow transporters for personal use (plus, added to our handy spreadsheet!). Threading is completely by player preference—the idea's just to make sure any character ICly jumping behind the throttle of a weaponized spaceship has demonstrated that they know what they're doing.
