Slack channel
Hello Savrites! For those who may miss game-wide chat rooms, there's a new option in town! It's called Slack, which is a team-building site for companies and organizations. There's a network for DWRP set up on Slack, where I have just set up a Savrou channel for chatting purposes. All you have to do to join is sign up with your character's Dreamwidth domain email address at https://dwrp.slack.com/ and wait for the confirmation email (it's known that this email will take a few extra minutes to come in, though we're not sure whether that's a DW issue or something with Slack). Your email for this is simply username@dreamwidth.org for paid accounts. The channel name is #savrou.
I hope you'll join, this looks like a fun option for game discussion!
ETA: If you don't have a paid account it turns out you can write dwrpslack@gmail.com and mention your user name and they'll send you an invite!

You don't need to have an @dreamwidth.org address to participate, but if you have one, it automatically alerts the admins that you aren't a random non-DWRPer coming in to troll or whatever.
One note I'd like to make about Slack: it IS reasonably useful, but the archive only goes back about 10,000 messages for free accounts. That means the entirety of the DWRP Slack. This means that if several games have particularly active channels, the accessible backlog for any channel can be pretty short.

That archive limit though, ouch.

I just know a lot about it because it was set up partly for my old game, and one of my friends is one of the admins, so I've been using it pretty extensively since about a year ago. The easiest way to use it is with an app on a tablet or phone... the web version is good too but can be kind of slow to initially load. Once you're in, it's helpful to star the channels you like and also to play with the notifs. (Like, I keep sound notifications off for any public channel I'm in, etc.) Those are usually in the channel settings, but things are slightly different between each version (Android, iOS, and desktop) that I've tried.

Several people in the game can also be set up with invite powers, but for now this request thing will work.
