"Don’t know when I’ll be back again."

ABOARD THE MOIRA
The Ingress has pulled you in. Your body experiences several sensations at once: being pushed forward as if a hand is resting on your back, momentary and startling blindness, a gentle ringing in your head. You have difficulty discerning whether it is hot or cold, but where you have been prodded is noticeably warmer than the rest of you. Some may suffer from dizziness while others are perfectly fine. Once equilibrium has been reestablished, you will notice you are standing on a long platform and that the room is filled with a soft cerulean light. It's slightly humid and dark despite the glow around you, and nothing is familiar. Shortly after, you are led out and toward the medbay.

Inside this room, you are given a physical scan and offered a contract to sign that states you are now part of the crew of the Moira with a specific job. Any questions you might have would be answered in a straightforward manner as well as an explanation about how the Ingress, the thing that has pulled you onto the Moira, is broken and bringing people here unintentionally. This process also consists of a complete work-up of medical history and current health, and afterwards, you are given your MID, a device that is integrated into your hand or wrist with only the slightest pinch. From there, you are guided out of the medbay and to your living quarters.

Whether adjusting to space travel has been difficult or not, there is always something to be done. From working to leisure, the Moira offers a multitude of opportunities to get to know your crewmates a bit better. Exploration of the ship is highly encouraged. You may notice a slight change in the artificial gravity every once in awhile; however, more noticeable changes can be found in overall morale of those of the crew.

☄ on your own

There are plenty of other communal areas on the ship to explore! Pick a place, and see where it takes you. ( These scenarios can be used as in-game canon. )

The day begins normally. Or almost.

The Moira has accidentally fallen along the trajectory of an asteroid barreling its way through space. While most things like this are not uncommon, and the ship is far from any potential danger of collision or risk of debris damaging the exterior, there is something particularly odd about this specific occurrence. The rock itself appears to give off a strange light that is both eerie and alive. Often, if looked at in just the right manner, it will shift colors; so, while one person sees one side of the spectrum, someone else could see something entirely different. At first, things continue on as they usually do aside from the glowing asteroid alongside the Moira, but as the hours go on, that does not seem to be the case.

☄ the hours are breathing
resignedly beneath the sky the melancholy waters lie
With a rather open view of stars and space, thanks to the skylight above, the pool in the rec area suddenly comes alive beneath the light of the asteroid filtering in. Perhaps it’s some natural response to the chemical composition of the water, or perhaps it’s magic. Yet, regardless of the explanation, those who happen to take a dip suddenly find themselves plagued by despair. The depression and melancholy are not subtle changes either; it slams into you with great force, like a punch to the gut. The longer you remain in the pool, the deeper it grows, like an all-consuming paranoia that settles into the back of your mind and causes your heart to grow heavy. These strong feelings will eventually fade if you choose to leave the pool and dry off, but as long as you remain damp from the pool, those emotions will continue to linger. Even after you’re completely dry, there will be no mistaking just how intensely you felt or why. There is no explanation and might not be. Would you dare a second swim to test whether or not it was a fluke? ( These scenarios can be used as in-game canon. )

☄ those who have crossed
the eyes are not here, there are no eyes here
The walls are shrinking in. Every room you step into feels much too small, like there isn’t enough room to even breathe. A crowded place becomes startlingly empty, and no matter how much you run, how much you explore, there is no one there to comfort you or answer your calls for help. Hallucinations run strong between the lulls of obscene loneliness or claustrophobia, and exposure to the glow of the asteroid is really the only thing to thank for that. You’re desperate to claw your way out of the ship—open the emergency hatch in the Cargo Bay, bust the glass of the Observation Deck. What’s worse is that it’s not just you. It’s catching, and the fear of being next is very real. It feels like you’re being watched, that everyone around you is looking and seeing everything you are. Or are not. The only way to make it stop is to admit that you’re afraid of being seen, but who, in the deep madness of the self, has the courage to ever admit the truth? ( These scenarios can be used as in-game canon. )

☄ the sun in flight
rage, rage against the dying of the light
Something has drifted its way onto the Moira from the outside. Unlike the faint luminosity they give off, they suck up all the light around them, making them the only source to see by. From far away, they are just flitting balls of light, but if you get close enough to inspect them, they are mean. And have sharp, sharp teeth. Go poking, and they will bite you before trying to fly away while taking that only light source with them. The option to avoid them is quite easy if you’re not the curious sort, but without them around, it will be impossibly dark. As the asteroid moves on in the opposite direction of the Moira, these light creatures begin to dissolve and fade away with it. However, a word of caution: their bites glow. If you don’t manage to find the one that bit you and capture it between your hands, the bite will become a permanent glowing fixture of your body. ( These scenarios can be used as in-game canon. )

pool times

[Now, J isn't exactly the type who enjoys swimming. She hadn't even done it back in the Collective, despite finding a proper swimwear that suited her, and she wasn't going to do it on Moira. But that still didn't mean she couldn't appreciate the beautiful view of the stars being reflected to the water. So, wearing a light purple robe over her black dress and a cigarette in between her fingers she enters to the Rec Area and walks to the poolside. She kicks her high heels off and sits down on the edge, putting her feet into the water.

She notices the young, blonde man swimming in the other side of the pool but doesn't pay much attention to him, clearly lost in her own thoughts as she enjoys the cool water. Leaning back, she looks up to the sky and brings the cigarette to her lips and takes a deep drag, holding it in for a bit before blowing the air out in a thin line -- but then she's being interrupted and brought back to the present by the young man, who's shouting something at her. She quickly turns her head to the side to see just what was going on, only seeing him coming towards her looking absolutely devastated.

Parting her lips slightly, J tilts her head a little and knits her brows in both confusion and concern.]

What message?!

[boy shouting at each other sure is helping]

Drift, I don't know what the hell you're on about, why would I ever be involved in giving people to the DJD? Why would Getaway?

[drift use your hippy bullshit to see that this is legitimate confusion goddamn]
harderfasterwrecker: (Shh let us keep it ambiguous)

YES

[Whirl's optic brightens and he clacks his claws together.]

OKAY!

[Claw one goes up.]

Okay. So When Tarn inevitably kills you, you're not going to stay dead.

[Claw two goes up.]

Tarn's here.

[Claw one pivots around, and then folds back down.]

Tailgate's Tarn's newest decepticon buddy.

[Claw two does the same.]

And we're stuck on this ship with two Starscreams and most of the high grade was in the cargo bay when slag went down so there's no way to deal with that problem.

[personal profile] happyclappyhippydrippy 2016-07-14 10:54 pm (UTC)(link)
[DON'T WORRY Drift realizes that he's getting all pissed and UN-ZEN. he takes a second to calm himself down and kind of reevaluate the situation. Either Riptide was really good at bullshit, or he legitimately had no idea what was going on. Shit everything is confusing.]

Getaway wanted to get rid of Megatron, and from how I understand it, he wanted to get rid of anyone who supported Megatron as well. I don't... maybe he didn't fill you in on the DJD part, I have no idea, but when Ratchet and I came across Rodimus and the others they were cornered by the DJD. Hell, we were seconds away from engaging them before I ended up here.

I don't know Getaway well at all, but it sounds like he wasn't the person you thought he was. There's one line even some of the most hardened Decepticons wouldn't cross, and he crossed it.

Not really, Optimus and everyone else were pretty big on the whole keeping me out of the way of danger thing.

[Drift's expression is actually kind of unreadable for a second because like really what the fuck does anybody say to something like that??? LIKE???

And then he just. slowly nods in that "yep we're all going to die aren't we" sort of way and starts to turn to just leave or something, but like changes his mind half way through and turns back around to face Whirl LOOK HE'S REALLY AT A LOSS RIGHT NOW.]

Okay wait. I literally just saw Tarn before I got here. How did he get here before me, what is Tailgate thinking, how are there two Starscreams, and are you sure there's no high grade just conveniently stashed somewhere secret?
harderfasterwrecker: (after this you'll need a therapist.)

Re: YES

[personal profile] harderfasterwrecker 2016-07-14 11:30 pm (UTC)(link)
[He busts up. Officially.

Like there is a literal full minute of Whirl just losing his shit and pretty much every time he looks like he's going to stop, he pauses, looks at drift, and then busts up again. Yeah. No. This is gonna take a moment.

.....

Done?

...Are you done now?

Okay.
]

If there's any highgrade, it's probably hidden with the head, wherever the tugboat stashed it.

[Because that's the first thing he should answer, of course.]

[personal profile] happyclappyhippydrippy 2016-07-14 11:42 pm (UTC)(link)
[Drift is just looking less and less impressed with each passing second. He briefly wonders if he'd be able to get away with punching Whirl upside his shitty flashlight head a second time, but quickly pushed that thought to the back of his mind. Not all the way to the back of his mind, but you know.]

Nothing you're saying is making sense. You know, on second thought, I don't think I want you to elaborate on any of that after all.
happyclappyhippydrippy: (she gave me the clap)

[personal profile] happyclappyhippydrippy 2016-07-14 11:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Wait, so. You know Optimus too? Now you're really throwing me off.

[Bee was believable, he was one of those 'makes friends with EVERYONE' sorts. But Optimus c'mon kid]

[personal profile] tooprecious 2016-07-14 11:52 pm (UTC)(link)
"Since you know my name." Which was still a little odd and he still wasn't clear how she knew it, but that could be sorted out later. "What do I call you?"

He wasn't about to go leave her there then. Not when she said she wasn't okay.

"I'd offer to go get someone to help but I'm still trying to find my way around."

Is ginger ale some sort of universal constant, or are we shit out of luck when it comes to sugary beverages? These are the questions that plague all involuntary interdimensional travelers.

[She's only about 40% facetious this time.]
deathgrins: (let's be real for a second.)

[personal profile] deathgrins 2016-07-15 12:07 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I figured.

[Duo probably still counts as part of the "new people" camp. It's only been a few days. He's still getting used to his new job as a grease monkey and familiarizing himself with the layout of the place. He's talked to a few people here and there about random crap but not for long enough to get to know anybody. It would be good to change that. He's supposed to be working with these people, after all, who knows how this will all work out otherwise if he doesn't make nice with them.]

I'm Duo. [He picks up his fork and looks over at Armin with a slight smile.] You new here too?
allsparked: (The end has to justify the means)

Uh yeah I do, I helped them all get used to Earth when they showed up in Detroit.

[Or maybe Drift this is weird space shenanigans. Or something.

Sari just thinks he's a bit off his processor.]

[Drift will find himself exactly in the place that he thought he had escaped: in the oppressive shadow of the Commander of the DJD. Alone.]

Excellent, another traitor on board.

[Weary or not, that's still a voice that no former Decepticon never wants to hear. Drift is practically petrified for a solid couple of seconds before he whips around, drawing both swords and managing to look way more calm about this predicament than he feels.]

Either attack me or leave. I'm not interested in small talk.

[he's not interested in dying either but y'know. This ship is small and he doesn't have a lot of wiggle room at the moment when it comes to escaping.]

Just thought you'd go for a skate in the dark, huh? [Come on, man. Who would do that? Little does he know.]

Drop the weapon and turn around. [At least he... Thinks that's a weapon, whatever the guy's got in his hand. Looks more like a megaphone, and naturally his retinal prosthesis has absolutely nothing useful to say about it (which is getting to be an annoying trend here on the ship.) And that leg gear... An exo-suit? Better to be safe than sorry.

Especially because, if Lúcio does end up turning around (since he's being asked so nicely!) he might be able to make out Adam, who's clearly unarmed. Though, to be fair, he does sort of constantly give off the impression that he doesn't need a gun in his hands to be dangerous.]

[Obviously, 76 never expected that being kidnapped into space would be what finally puts him face to face (mask to mask) with the Reaper, but he's not the type to let the opportunity pass him by now that it's in front of him. He'd perhaps be a bit more hung up on being pulled from his mission, otherwise, but he can potentially work with this.

But he's woefully uninformed. He knows about as much as most people do, he thinks. Rumors of corpses sucked dry of life. Attacks on ex-agents, and, of course, the museum stunt. 76 didn't want to make this his business, but the mercenary clearly has it out for Overwatch, which means it has to be his business.

He has suspicions (just like people have suspicions about him). No proof. He thinks he would like nothing more than to be wrong. The fact that they're both here is interesting enough, and he's full of too many conspiracy theory nowadays to dismiss this as coincidence.

If Reaper doesn't know that he's being tailed, 76 will be sorely disappointed in the guy's abilities as a mercenary. He finally catches up at the observation deck, and he hovers in the doorway for a few long moments, as if deciding whether or not he's actually going to engage.

He will, of course. Not that he expects this to go very well. Reaper has surely heard of certain infamous vigilantes, too.

[And everything had been perfectly serene until they crossed paths with that peculiar celestial object. Dorian knew little about space and meteors, his people had given up on the stars quite some time ago, or rather it just went out of fashion. Regardless, the black out, these odd, glowing creatures- what a perfect way to ruin his day.

On top of stumbling around in the pitch blackness of the ship and realizing even the light from his magic found itself absorbed by this little infestation, it did nothing to improve his mood. He'd also seen what they could do if they took a nip out of you. Testy little pests. Much as Dorian admired the Inquisitor, he had no intention of ending up with a glowing wound on his body, so he kept his distance using his staff to move around.

Apparently Dorian wasn't the only one having a bad day.

One thing Dorian had learned, and rather quickly, was that these creatures enjoyed mauling their victims and running away. That means stumbling around in the dark until he could come across another one, not happening. So without further ado he took aim and swung his staff broadly at the toothsome creature. It wasn't enough to kill it, but is was enough to subdue it until he could trap it with a barrier.]

Nasty little blighter, yes? Seems to have developed a taste for you.

[The man might be injured, but that didn't stop Dorian from eyeing the wound with a kind of intellectual curiosity.]

How is it? Good, bad, does it feel like anything at all? [Say hello to Mister Sensitive.]
liberaltus: (pic#10319820)

[personal profile] liberaltus 2016-07-15 04:14 am (UTC)(link)
I suppose there is something intrinsic within the nature of all beings who are compos mentis. Thinking, improving, becoming better, becoming better than...

[Dorian dismissed the bit of magic he performed just moments before, hopefully that would put an end to any hazardous warnings, not that Dorian knew what was going on with his companion's body.]

And mages are the same way. Where I come from, it is a cautionary tale, much as I cannot grasp the idea of my people being rounded up in circles to live the rest of their lives away from people who might hurt them, away from people they might hurt. It's all so convenient. There is the opposite argument as well, mages who rule strictly, tend to abuse their power.

[And Dorian wasn't entirely certain where to find the equilibrium there.]

I'd enjoy nothing more than beating the corrupt systems my homeland stands on into submission, but...

[...but. It was more complicated than that, and he was one man.

Though it did answer the question of where Dorian came from, he came from the place where mages were corrupt tyrants and he had no reserves talking about it. His skin was thicker than that and time had given him an open mind.

There were other things that he was far more sensitive about than the corruption in his homeland.]
I think complicated is the only word for anything, no matter the day, no matter the era. Still, I'd rather try to navigate the situation then idly sit by and let it continue.

[She smirks at his comment.]

You should've started twenty years ago. As for these things... [She avoids touching them, because it's Isha, and Isha refuses to even try.

For now, at least.]

From what I hear, much of the abnormal is normal, as well as dangerous.

[They're not too far from the Observation Deck, one of the most open areas on the ship. Isha feels it too, the eyes, the shadows watching. If anything planned on jumping them, it would be difficult to catch them unaware. It would risk everyone too, including any perpetuator planning on attacking.]

It wasn't just people, though. Things. The ship is operational purely by miracle.

[Q follows closely, just a few paces behind her. He's as good as a pair of eyes on the back of her head.]

People are strange. That would be Q-11, companion and bodyguard of a sort.

[He barks happily, lighting up blue. She realizes now it's probably rude to introduce her dog and not herself.

Probably.

So she holds out her hand, sort of professional, sort of not, because formality.]

Isha Devan, at your service.

[Not really. Another formality.]

Just a tip for the future. There's not a lot of mutants here, but showing off powers? That's always a good conversation starter around here.

[The voice just makes him smile wider.]

Okay. Now that is seriously cool. There are so many people around here you could freak out with that. [And probably garner a better reaction than just his speed gets.] Yeah. Xavier. You know the guy?

[His smile softens.]

That's good. Not for people forced into fights, obviously, But I mean, where I'm from- uh, when I guess, they just showed those things on the news and I thought. [He shakes his head, rolling his eyes and making an explosion gesture with his fingers.] I kind of thought it was all over, you know.

But... you'll all escape, right? Why would--

[he knows about different timelines and such by now, maybe drift is from a really bad one. he wouldn't hand everyone over to the djd.

...would he? riptide backs away from drift, expression saying it all.]

Of course I wanted Megatron off the ship but not like that! Who in their right mind would want that?!
