Her eyes dart to his face. She's not going to be able to get away with saying it's nothing, gauging by the way he's looking at her. She needs to just say something vague and then move on to something else, something to distract him. "I want this to go right," she says. "There were times in the past where they didn't." Times she couldn't save him. Times she needed to leave him ignorant.Though in a way, that had been the only choice. Which is what she had been thinking about. She looks to the side, not wanting him to see her expression. She rubs her hand across her mouth, then touches his leg. "We ought to get up and get dressed," she says. "I don't know when Matt might come back."
