It's usually for purposes of meditation that he comes out here, a practice that's...well, needed practice for years. The starlight usually helps. But he senses presence here long before Thane makes himself present, and it's been a distraction to say the least, even as he moves slowly, unarmed, through lightsaber forms he's had memorized by heart. It's the sort of meditation he's usually best at weathering through distraction with. But he fixates on the presence he feels and doesn't see: is it familiar? Friendly?
Strike one, time will only tell on the second.
He eases into a natural standing position when approached, as amiable as he can make himself when he's not exactly startled, but the interruption still isn't exactly invited, either. (He's trying.)]
