[Shayne’s first reaction to a giant metal thing charging at her with a hammer is to dive-roll out of the way. But when she rights herself, she sees not an opponent preparing for another strike, but a giant shield spread out in front of her. It takes her a moment to process, but once she does, a huge grin spreads across her face.]
Dude, that’s awesome! [Finally, an actual shield in this place! And just like the one she’s used to, this one comes part and parcel with company. She hops to her feet and, after giving the steel-encased man and/or robot a onceover, shows no hesitation in standing between him and the massive shield held in front of him. She nods quickly at his question.] Yeah, man, check it out. [She holds out her right hand, the palm of which is 1) bleeding and 2) glowing brightly from an ill-advised attempt at petting one of the many glowing pests swarming the hallway.] Pretty cool, right? How long do you think it’ll last? [She doesn’t seem bothered at all by the fact that she’s bleeding, though maybe that’s not so surprising -- compared to whatever left the extensive scarring and tightly wrapped bandages all over her upper body, the little glowing wound is barely a mosquito bite.]
