idk what canon point you're looking at using

[ exploring the ship takes a lot of his time. mostly because he keeps drifting back to the observation decks, the garden, a couple of other places, but partially just because it seems to be relatively massive.

he has a lot on his mind lately. maybe that's why he elects to find somewhere he can move without having to approach any of it, somewhere he can let it all settle before he has to wade back into the complicated moray of thoughts and conflictions involved in remaining here when there's so much he knows he has yet to accomplish back in westerley.

but the splashing gets his attention just before he's turned the corner and once he has it becomes obvious what drew him here. the gun helps curb the instinct to rush over to her, but it's still not that simple, not really. it's not entirely the right choice perhaps, but he can crouch nearby, offer her some measure of support.

I don't know, but it doesn't look like it was the relaxing swim it was supposed to be.
