Sans | thread w/me or just hit me with that Hot CR Meta (tm)
Well, except for how he's spent his time. He gave up janitorial work (finally, for good) after abandoning the pretense was long overdue. For a few of the children on the boat, Sans has been their science teacher for years. He's even started dabbling in his own research here and there -- most notably, trying to figure out a design for a more fuel efficient engine. Because yeah, he still plans to leave one day. And yeah, he's gonna need a pretty neat ship to finally make his departure.
He... May have been putting it off lately. There always seems to be a new piece to design or part to build. Truthfully, he could have left ages ago. Whether it's inaction, laziness, or a hard tug of reluctance to leave the people he's grown to love as friends and family behind... Well, you figure it out.
On his off hours, Sans still assists in running a speakeasy-turned-ship staple out of one of his many rooms. It's a little slice of home and Sans can usually be found shooting the shit in the corner with his coworkers (well, they don't do much work really... coloiterers maybe), drinking, and chatting about whatever the other person wants to talk about.
He still doesn't talk about himself much.]

leia organa | star wars
take your pick on looks, they're all carrie about 5 years later
Five years into the future, Leia is:
◦ Mad as shit that she's still on the Moira.
◦ Probably a little depressed about that, too.
◦ Quietly planning out rebellion maneuvers in her spare time and hoping nobody else notices.
◦ Also, she's 28 by this point.
◦ Probably still working in navigation, for the most part.
◦ A slightly better Jedi? Can definitely carve people up into pieces.
◦ Slowly dealing with dad issues, since she can't really avoid them here.
◦ Still trying to fix her son. :/
◦ Maybe married??????
◦ Seriously, though, she would not be pleased to have been trapped out of time and space for so long - most of her life has been spent either learning how to fight the Empire or actually fighting it, and she'd have a hard time letting that go for such long years.
[we can discuss ooc or do ic threads, up 2 u]
Nico Robin
To be honest, the only reason she'd stay on the Moira for that long is because of the people she's come to actually give a damn about. So she might still be around, assuming that she wasn't able to get Allison, the Girl, Doc Yewll and her other close CR to jump ship with her and find their way to the "First Planet" on their own.
In five years she's grown a bit quieter, I think. She wouldn't really withdraw but I feel like she'd be less likely to voice her opinions unless outright asked. She'd also be pretty angry at their situation, because she has so much work to do back home and she's wasted years here not doing it.
She still doesn't trust the Captains. Like, maybe at some point she thought she could trust them? But you can only dock on so many planets filled with slavers, zombies, people who want the crew dead, etc before trust just isn't an option anymore.
So she's a quiet, bitter teenager who keeps dropping hints to her close friends that she's ready to ditch this shithole any time they are. Constantly contemplating just leaving without them - but never saying as much out loud. Also she doesn't wear her uniform anymore, because she wants to wear dresses instead. Fashion is important, ok
Basically a moody, passive-aggressive little turd of a teenager. Good luck dealing with that, everybody.
Nathan Drake | Uncharted
He's grown increasingly frustrated by not being home—he misses his not-dad, dammit, and he actually would like to have a kid or two and the birth control given to the crew makes that kind of hard, to say nothing of the perils of raising a Space Baby.
While he still lives the thief lifestyle when they stop at a planet where shady acquisition of goods is something the Moira needs, he's dived more into the nerdy researcher thing, doing intense study of the history and development of the various worlds they visit. This is partly out of personal interest and partly in the hopes that understanding their surroundings in the universe will help them get somewhere, for real.
He has still not learned to capitalize in text conversations.
(Feel free to just toss up a scenario with future!Nate!)

Good luck dealing with a colleague that's going through puberty, Nate

...WELL, AT LEAST IT GIVES HIM PRACTICE FOR THE FUTURE ADVENTURE BABY?

Of course, he's also a good bit more inclined to sarcasm, shitty jokes, and passive-aggressive commentary about what books people choose to check out from the library, but those who have known him long enough may consider even that a good sign.
He still tends to get pretty quiet whenever the subject of going home gets brought up, and any suggestion of leaving the ship prematurely is immediately deflected by a change of subject... usually to something biology-related. It's hardly notable, given how routinely he'll get distracted talking about some piece of random trivia or another and going on a tangent from there. Working in the library gives him easy access to a lot of nonfiction, okay.
((I'm good with CR meta or threading out scenarios, COME AT ME))
Clara Oswald
- be 32/33
- be angry as hell that the Doctor is so freaking late in coming to get her
- not really miss Earth as much as she thought she would
- have a life she's set up on the Moira and a family of people she's collected
- probably have found someone to
boss around intimatelyspend special time with- be teaching literature and writing courses for a few hours a day
- be collecting secrets and gathering info on everyone and everything for the rest of the day
- finally have her private room so she can store all the amazing dresses she'll collect and have
- hold afternoon tea for whoever wants to show up to talk shit about the captains or gossip about other people
- still be a tiny and angry thing. only a lot angrier bc I'm sure a lot of shit happens in 5 years
- have trained to fight so she'll be able to kick someone's ass whenever she gets really angry
- probably needs to learn some meditation or calming breathing techniques
- also probably mother hens everyone on the ship especially the people she cares about or knows well
[Good for threading out random scenarios or talking CR come at me]

Hawke | Dragon Age
Well, it's more canon's fault than the Moira's. During a canon update she ends up stuck in the wonderful metaphysical realm of the Fade back home for at least two years before showing back up on the ship. So after years in the Fade fighting demons to the point were it was boring, she has a weird connection to the Fade and sometimes can't figure out where the fuck she is in reality. There's a lot of weird green glowing and unexpected power to do a shit ton of magic.
It's so weird you guys, she can't even explain it and so she copes by a lot of drinking. She's super vexed by the fact that she sacrificed herself to make up for her mistakes but she can't really be sure because in the Fade, there's no distinction between reality and the Fade.
So. Hawke is at the bar. A lot. Like a lot. And hey being a weird Fade person helps her liver (or so she says). And otherwise she does her best to protect her buds on the crew and help people that they come across to try and keep ensuring that she's doing something and no longer making shit worse for people.
But no, she has stopped with the stupid jokes at really bad times. Nothing can eve take that from her!!!

Elena is probably like WHAT THE HELL YOU TWO STOP. And Hawke is like I'm a Fade abomination I cannot help it. (These things are entirely unrelated)

River Tam
She's died twice in the past five years. The first death cost her an arm, since replaced with a prosthetic. The second death stole several months of her memory, hence her new dedication to keeping a journal. She doesn't want to lose any more memories that are important to her.
In shipboard life, River probably teaches new crew how to pilot the transporters just in case of emergency. And sometimes she teaches them how to fly recklessly. (#yolo)
Overall she's rather the same girl, just with some years tacked on. She also owns several very nice coats. Her usual one is dark blue. She wears the brown one when she's doing crime.
Deacon
He still lies all the time.
Harry Hart
He's a bit less upright about some things and has allowed his gentlemanly persona to slip in public. This has led to some hilarity because when he slips it tends to involve swearing. So much for that reputation of his.
By this time Harry has also FINALLY adopted Eggsy. He introduces him as his son and everything. It's actually pretty sickening.
In his spare time, Harry well sometimes run some simulations fire those looking to pick up a level in Spy. He hasn't yet expressed any inclinations toward departing from the ship, mostly because his goal get Eggsy home hasn't changed.

...and doesn't look a day past her death at 23. It's not as cool as it seems.
After the first year and a half of her time on the Moira, she came out publicly as a vampire (after telling a select few people first to gauge how poor the reception would be). It doesn't end up being as bad as she assumes it will be.
She started learning more about medicine in the medbay in her first couple of years and still works there, though she also collects census information for everyone who comes in and works on an initiative to ensure that everyone looking for family or friends has the chance to find each other, or to at least know that a loved one was on the Moira. She also takes up collecting history of the planets they go to in order to help the historians on board, though she never becomes one herself (she just likes collecting and learning, okay). She briefly worked as a help to the interrogators by being a vampire version of Lying Cat. It didn't go over so well.
Blood magic is a thing. A definite thing. She's far more powerful in the five years she's been on the Moira (because a few weeks/months at home did wonders for her) and has learned more Thaumaturgical spells like telekinesis. She's often found practicing and getting physically stronger when she isn't working. With the help of Obi-Wan and Anakin, she's also learned to regulate her anxiety and meditate regularly, and even if she can't be a jedi, they've helped her get stronger with her own powers and with her self-confidence.
Emotionally, she's gotten more mature, more calm and collected, and she isn't afraid of killing any longer. In five years, she's finally begun to accept that she'll never be who she was and she'll never be human again...so she might as well just be a better person as a vampire. She is more open and honest with people and makes more friends now that she's less afraid to do so.
Obi-Wan Kenobi
Blame the Skywalker family. Bl
Agent Washington
He's pissed as hell that it's been over five years and they still haven't reached their destination. He's still antsy as hell to get back home and deal with the shit that's still on his plate there. That said, this only really shows in bitterness at this point because, mad as he is, he's had a feeling this entire time that the captains were jerking them around. There's not much left of him that really thinks that getting home is actually possible.
In terms of his job, he's probably bounced around a bit. Stayed in Ingress Security for a long while but moved on to things like Interrogation and whatnot. None of the jobs on the ship keep him as busy as he wants, so he's tried a few different ones. He still ends up in the bar most nights, subtly drinking until he feels less. And hey, it helps him sleep. ...Gets him maybe an extra ten minutes on the hour of sleep he seems to get every other night. He still looks like he hasn't slept in a year.
He hasn't come far in terms of attitude. Basically, he's still a grumpy, distrustful asshole who doesn't open up and isn't regarded as friendly. However, it's been long enough that he's gone quietly considering some people to be allies and if they've gone all this time without betraying him or leaving him any reason to be uncertain of them, they'll have gained his trust. Officially. He doesn't trust much, and it takes a hell of a long time and a lot of work to earn it from him, but it is no longer impossible.
As far as deaths, he's only had one or two the entire time. What else do you expect from a guy with a handful of near-death experiences but no actual deaths back home? He has been and will always be a cockroach, nearly impossible to kill, even when he actually wants to die. That said, he's lost memories from his deaths and, not one who takes alteration to his head and memories well, it's made him a bit more cautious. He'd rather stay dead than have his head fucked with, thanks.
Wash's mental stability is...also still questionable. He's under full belief that the Moira or the captains is messing with the crew, playing with their heads just because they can, just to see what happens. Some of his reasons for believing this are well founded and the reasons he initially started thinking this way, but at this point...some of them are pretty questionable, too. No one said being trapped on a ship for over five years is good for a person's paranoia, their PTSD, or the residual mental trauma of having an AI commit suicide in your head. He struggles more with symptoms these days, but fights to keep what he can hidden and lives in denial around the rest of the crew.
Asriel Dreemurr | Undertale
-Still doesn't look over 10 years old
-Probably not super thrilled to still be on the Moira
-Pursuing a full time career as a pilot
-Probably getting homeschooled by mom
-Is learning about ship repair/maintenance and knows enough about ships to nerd out over different models
-Hopefully has settled into his family life while finally letting go of his self-loathing and guilt issues
-Has picked up a variety of new nerdy hobbies that would get him stuffed in a school locker
-Skeletons still can't kiss his mom
Nihlus Kryik
And he's still on the Moira.
That fact doesn't make him feel particularly bitter though. His universe doesn't have anything for him to return to, really. He's there for his friends (the ones that are still around at least) and any new people who might come through the Ingress. He still works in engineering, tries to figure out how to repair the Ingress, keeps up with ship maintenance, helps reverse engineers a lot of the Moira's technology to easier understand and repair it.
He's dropped his emotional barriers somewhat and he's more obviously tired than he had been, more obviously sad. Still worries over people a lot though.
no subject
basically i think that by the time five years has passed, Nihlus is someone Wash considers a
friendally and. actually willingly spends time with him and has given in and just kind of accepted the affection showing? like he pretends to be annoyed by it and he is a little but at this point wouldn't actually do anything to stop it. but he will just hang there limply whenever Nihlus hugs him or stare flatly at him if hair ruffling happens....also Wash takes note of Nihlus' more obvious tiredness and sadness. and okay he doesn't ever really say anything about it, but he hangs around when it looks to him like Nihlus is having a particularly crappy moment. he's bad at comforting or anything like it but goes as far as offering conversation as distraction while being subtle about why he's doing it. but. he can relate, especially to that tiredness.
HI WE HAVE HAD TWO THREADS WITH THEM AND HAVE TALKED HYPOTHETICALLY ABOUT THEM MORE THAN ACTUALLY WRITING THEM BUT I HAVE A LOT OF FEELINGS ABOUT THEM ANYWAY.

don't worry Wash, he won't drown you in ALL the affection. that said, you're getting a turian wedged between you and any couches you want to sit on ever.
Dutch Velders
She has honed her welding skills and is a pro at fixing the ship. She even finds scrap metal to make sculptures and useful items to give to her friends. Need a place to hang your keys/coat/whatever? She'll weld it for you.
She hasn't given up on organizing card games and she's probably added more games to her list of games to be played. She doesn't just play blackjack and poker anymore.
She has probably pushed for a casino more than once.
By this point in time she's flirted with half the people on the Moira and maybe engaged in harmless sexual relations with a few of them, but it's uncertain whether or not she ever developed a relationship.
She cut her hair and started to wear it in a more grown up style.
Aaaand... That's it, I think.
Mettaton
-- He's a little more savvy with robotics because he would have gotten bored on the Moira and taken initiative to learn about metal stuff like himself.
-- He has a fuckton of outfits gathered from ALL OVER SPACE and all of them are all hells of daring.
-- He has his own room and it's full of diaries, collected trinkets, and pictures of his friends. It's also pink. Very pink.
-- He runs talkshows over the MIDs religiously and also broadcasts shows through any TVs. Mettaton is everywhere.
-- By this point he's probably a lot better at being a friend. He'll listen and everything! He will also hug and stuff, because being tactile is just how Mettaton is.
-- He still likes hanging around the children and occasionally fussing over them, though he's just as likely to pull them into schemes. The smols who are now growing up are (un)officially his smols whenever they aren't Toriel's smols, because he said so and no one can stop him. That said, he's not at all about being a parent. Please. Can you imagine this asshole trying to parent?
-- His head has been removed ever so slightly from his own ass, and he is able to see past his own wants and needs. Crazy, amirite?
-- Ngl, he'd probably still be with Papyrus. Because Papyrus feeds his ego when he needs it, but still makes him a heck of a better person.
*** A subcategory: he's still schmoopy and calls Papyrus awful saccharine names and does nice shit for him all the time. It's gross. He's gross. Everything is gross.-- While he'd be more conscious of his violent tendencies, Mettaton will likely be somewhat more apathetic when it comes to killing and hurting people apart from the crew, as a byproduct of gaining LOVE as well as being aggressively protective of the people he cares about. Thanks, Savrou!! :') And thanks, Undertale level mechanics!!
Physical changes would probably include having his dead eye rebuilt and functioning and therefore wearing his hair differently to see out of both. BUT...he'd probably still go with the usual EX hairstyle often for familiarity's sake.
Please feel free to assume any CR or shoot thoughts at me. :3 Mettaton is kind of a fixed point, so he isn't as interesting as all of you are!!
