a new bar + trading system coming right up!
Hello everyone! Jenni (the J player) here.
Some of you might remember an ooc info post about player run plot from few weeks ago. Well, I'm here to inform all of you that the new bar is finally happening.
The bar is a semi-speakeasy called Niels Bahr established by J (gentlemenpreferblondes), Sans (skelepun ), Tony (arcreact) and Shepard (squadgoals) and it's located on Mero Deck #25. We wanted to approach this plot by having our characters build the place from the scratch, using any resources they had around them (past mail requests, things they've managed to scavenge from previous planet stops, using the science lab etcetc.) so the place is quite small and rather humble looking! The alcohol will be all self-made by our local alcoholic science nerds Tony and Sans and for the most part it will be just your regular moonshine -- however, there are some drinks that might have a little magic in them and come with rather interesting side-effects.
And since we wanted to give this business a speakeasy kind of tone, there will be no ic network posts about it but instead there'll be few hints around the ship and from the Spacebook characters can find a clues to a password that they'll have to say before they can enter to the bar.The password will change each month but it's always going to be a joke -- so if your character doesn't get the hint they can make up their own joke. You can have your character either find out about the bar IC way or then just handwave it.
HOWEVER, what really makes this bar different from the previous one is that nothing is free anymore. The resources that the bar staff has won't last forever and they want some compensation for it. Since there's no currency on Moira all payments are going to happen via trading system. What they trade is up to you! The staff is mainly looking for items that could be used for bar (new chairs, decorations, different kinds of alcohol etc) or favors (wash the dishes, cleaning, running around collecting debts) but characters can also do personal trades with any of the staff. Trading can be either played out between the characters or then handwaved, whatever works for you the best!

Now to the fun part: We were thinking of making open mingle logs each month for all your bar shenanigans needs! This month's log will be up few days after the intro log and now you can use this post to do your own planning and plotting.
