It's event time!
November

Hello everybody! It's time for an event and our first big player plot! Everything you need to know is below, and since there's a lot to do with this one, feel free to respond to this post with your plotting comments. (There's a form below to help with that).

November 18th and Onward

At the beginning of the month, the crew disembarked the Moira to gather supplies on Caducus Primary. The natives were friendly and accommodating, though strict in what they did or didn't allow, and everything was going as planned. On the twelfth, the crew received a half-veiled threat to leave the planet. The representative reiterated that the crew had four days to finish up and leave. They made no further contact and didn't pressure the Moirans to leave; all seemed well.

By the 18th, two days after the deadline, the natives will abruptly begin to force any lingering crew off the planet. The time has passed, and they waited longer, but feel as if their goodwill is being abused. Any and all crew members still on planet will be roughly seized and extracted. If you fight back, they will attempt to subdue you, and if you go willingly, they will be no less rough.

The Glass Shatters

Due to a bit of bad luck, and a whole lot of aggressive handling, crew member Bruce Banner will be triggered. The Hulk, unfortunately, is now causing enough damage and force that the fragile and brittle buildings and sculptures are breaking. The buildings begin to sway and bow, glass pieces the size of cars and houses raining down on civilians and crew members as they crack and give way.

In the chaos and panic, the on-planet Ingress is damaged, resulting in a wave of energy strong enough to penetrate the planet's core. The brittle planet, much like the glass that adorns it, starts to crack open and the natives issue a planet-wide evacuation. Within 48 hours, all crew standing anywhere on the Moira with a view of the planet will stand witness as it splinters open, and then folds into itself. The only survivors are those that made it onto the Moira, a transporter, or one of Caducus Primary's many evacuation shuttles.

"I am the keeper of fragile things and I destroy what is mine."

For this event, characters can choose to do any number of things. There will be the opportunity to help Clark Kent try to stop the Hulk, creating safe areas for civilians to get out of the way of falling glass, coordinating rescue and evacuation efforts, and building a cage in the cargo hold of the Moira that will be used to hold the Hulk until he cools down.

no that is perfect! he'll be pretty shaken when he comes to because the last thing he will remember is PRETTY painful. and i've been wanting some miles & cúrre CR :D

He's just going to have a fit of "Seriously???" about these vehicles.

She'll help him out. Do you have any end ideas for what they'll build? Like force field-y or something bizarrely stretchy/elastic walled?

Haha, thanks, I've only read Dreamweaver's Dilemma and the first few chapters of Falling Free, but I have been enjoying them! I actually don't really mind spoilers, it's cool :P

I thought they'd try to do up some plans pretty fast and then get everyone building. The force field sounds cool, but I like the idea of them building something that is stretchy and doesn't break. hmmmm.

MILES ;A; I'm so looking forward to their fighting over this. I hope Miles tells him off like I've handled shit like this I'm fine and Clark is like you could literally die out here because of his own survivor's guilt and everything's gonna be awful it'll be great.

OH BETTER YET WHAT IF the damage is already done via Miles trapped under the glass debris and Clark x-rays him and just knows he's going to bleed out even if he tries to cauterize it there's literally nothing that can be done. And Miles can die right there in his arms.

And then he can get pissed off and go punch the Hulk halfway across the planet. :']

So how about some teaming up to rescue people shenanigans? \o I was about to offer PTSD flashback camaraderie, but then I read the comment above lmao (if Miles wants to deal with Tali freaking out about the planet getting destroyed, though...)

Do you want to do anything in particular or are you cool just rolling with whatever?

I'm figuring I'll do an open starter for the Clark/Hulk fight once the event post goes live and leave a few openings for people to jump in, if that works?

oh man YES i would love for miles to deal with tali freaking out. miles is going to be pretty much in his element here, he's combat and command-trained and thinks well on his feet, so he'd be more or less prepared to help tali out. niko's also told him that they had to destroy a planet before, so he'll be at least a little aware of what's up with her.

HAHA SORRY TALI, she can yell at him about it when he comes back to life :') also, if you want, tali can give ivan and gregor a death offering to burn for miles, which is the custom on barrayar -- it's something personal, usually a lock of hair, but it doesn't have to be. ivan & gregor will be collecting death offerings to burn for miles after clark gives them the news, so :B

BUT YEAH, miles is going to be hellbent on making sure they get as many people off planet as they can before he goes back up to the ship himself, so he and clark can bicker about it for a while before clark jumps back into combat. AND MAN YES THAT WOULD BE SO GOOD. SO DRAMA. what if miles is helping some civilians out of the building that clark gets thrown into, and the subsequent damage to the building is what traps him down there and gets him mortally injured? AND THEN CLARK CAN WATCH HIM DIE it's going to be bad miles really doesn't want to die

Zam's going to get talked into straight-up trying to shoot Bruce while he's in Hulkrage mode and I'm totally up for her getting hurt in the process. I'd actually be up for them getting one of their limbs crushed so they have to get a prosthetic and will have a harder time fooling people with their shifty powers >:c

Is all of that okay and if so, would you rather thread it out or handwave?

Do you guys have any solid plans on how you want Eggsy to be scrambled? It can just be that Clark is a little too late to save him or w/e you like, I'm all about ruining his life and letting him watch people die.

Is your character going to help Clark with the Hulk: Zam will try to help. “Try” being the operative word here. Actually, they’ll probably need a rescue from someone else, since there’s a definite possibility that they’ll be losing one of their limbs (AGAIN ;A;) during their fight with the Hulk, and they’ll need someone to help them to the medbay or a safe zone.
Safe Zones: Probably won’t be helping with this. Not enough excitement for them :T
Rescue and Evacuation: Honestly, they’ll probably be too busy suffering from limb loss OTL
Cage Building: See above
