Hello Savrites!

Just a couple of notes from your mods. We're coming into the final months before our second Arc of the game, and we're really excited to tie things up and make some changes. When Arc II starts in February, there will be all new pages with updated and current information. This month coming up will be entirely set on the ship and lead up to the events that take us into Arc II. So, what we need from all of you is to weigh in.

Back in December, Crewman Ploiatos made an entrance. Since then they've wreaked havoc and now have guards posted to make sure they don't get out. We've learned that Ploiatos is the name of the crew member who had been effected by the Ingress energy and altered into something new. This is where you come in. We want your help in naming this new species. Everyone can submit their suggestions below and then we'll do a vote to see which one everyone likes best. ICly this will be the naming of a new species that goes on record - the Moirans will be credited with this. OOCly and ICly the name will be used as a major part of the game from here on out.

Please no Murder McDeathface as suggestions thank you jen, but other than that, hit us with your creative ideas.

TIMELINE:

November - Ship Month
December - Midway Hub
January - Midway Hub
February - Arc II Thisavrou

This is also your time to ask questions about the upcoming event(s), Arc II, or anything else. We'd really like to hear from you. Thank you all for being amazing players!

Since "Ploiatos" is actually a person's name (presumably a family name), it doesn't seem like it would be right to use that as a species (UH-OH) name.

So my best suggestion is Kematian! According to this page of different languages' words for "death", a lot of Austronesian languages use a word like that. This particular variation is Indonesian and Malay, but to me, it also sounds like it could be a "species name."

There's been a quasi-Greek theme through the game, not very strict, so Thanatosian or something like that is another suggestion.

Finally, I liked the Icelandic dauða (which would be transliterated as "dauda" even though that letter is an eth, not a d), and Lithuanian mirtis. Things based on those would also be possibilities.
