FINAL NOTES
We know a lot is changing, but we think it'll be good in the long run for the game and its players. As things are switching and everyone is adjusting, we just ask that everyone be patient. If you have a questions, ask it and if something is missing (links, character names on the taken, etc.) or code is messed up - respond below or pm us. Next month we'll be rolling out plots the way we'll be doing them from now and they'll include missions, clearance levels, Ingress travel, and more.

How would you recommend players sign up for a job if they're going to cobble together an income through various freelance work? Nate is probably going to go back to professional theft to pay the bills, but I don't necessarily expect that to be 100% of what he does and it would take a bit of time to cultivate the connections/be able to get to other worlds to ideally keep the theft further from home.

eta If it would be appropriate, I'd be happy to write it up as a business Nate operates for OOC purposes, though he's not going to advertise himself ICly as Thefts R Us. Probably.

Hey!!

You would just go to the job/business page and comment with that. Come up with the job title you want him to have (freelancer, professional thief, lmao) and then the job description. You can suggest a salary that he would make, we trust that you'd pick something that would fit what work he does.

On the other hand, you can do the business route if that's something you'd be more interested in. Whichever way you prefer!

I have early tired brain, so I apologize if I missed this: Can you live in one region but have a business in another? Is commuting possible?

Second question: What are the different fonts/sizes of fonts used in the current code? I want to change my inbox page to match.

So it says "22 waking hours and 8 resting hours" how would time be written? Like a scale of 00:00 to 30:00? (For business hour listings).

Hey!

You can! You can even live on one planet and work on the other. There aren't any rules why you couldn't. You'd just have to commute from one place to the other using the EN-Line, so make sure to look for that info on the locations page.

It would be 1 - 22 then 23 - 30. Or first hour, second hour, third hour, etc.

So how exactly does the Ingress connect the two planets? Do you have to fly up into the atmosphere to reach it one one planet, then enter the complex and fly down onto the other planet? Or is the EN-line what makes the journey? Approximately how long does it take to get from Burg 1 on Chioni to Region 1 on Kauto?

Hey!

So imagine you are on the Ingress Complex which is in the atmosphere between the two planets. To travel down to a planet, either one, you take the EN-Line in the form of a spacecraft. It drops you off there. Then the EN-Line is different on planet depending on the location (check locations for that info if you need it). If you want to go planet to planet you can without stopping at the Ingress Complex.

The trips up to the Ingress is super short (five minutes if weather is good) and double that if you go from planet to planet.

I have similar question to the one above. J wants to establish her own business and I'm wondering how it would works out ICly? Am I free to come up with NPC who has the contacts/owns the required building whatsoever. I do have some plans for how would J approach this (coughcough, she definitely wouldn't mind trading some 'services' if possible). During the past year she's gathered herself jewelry, diamonds and other trinkets so I don't think that starting money is going to be the problem...?

Here's a quick write up of the business I have in my mind.

Yes! You can play around with the NPCs, definitely. You can have realtors, contractors, anything you can think of. Give them names, whatever. If she's got the starting money, I'd say you are good to go. You'd just hit up the business page when you're ready.

Oh yes good. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't messing with the local culture/people. But since she's starting a business and probably going to be hiring people, meaning she needs to pay their salary. Should I just make up how much she pays monthly etc? And since some of the club's income is going to be from the more illegal and unsteady part can I bullshit some of it, like if we get plot case that'll affect it.

Aaand then about AC: I do support the trade system but do I need to wait and build everything from scratch by requesting items through AC trade or can I handwave and say that the place she buys from her contact guy has majority of needed items and equipment and such ready?

You won't be! Yeah, I would just think about how much she would make and how much she could offer to pay, and then use that. Just look at the average amount of money someone might make and then how much J would pay.

Since we're starting over, there's room to wiggle there. You can go ahead and handwave that. Also, you don't have to trade your items to us for other items or sencs. You can take say, a bag of J's diamonds, and give them directly to whoever she's buying the club from. Savrii can still take item trades and go get sencs for it themselves.

As far as businesses go, would it be possible to build one and have it also serve as a character's housing? Arno here has built two cafes (one in canon and one in Eachdraidh) that were his business and also held his living area upstairs (as well as several other secret rooms, tunnels, and entrances that were for Assassins or others in his network, as well as escape routes).

Also, how difficult would it be for him to slowly build a network across one of the planets, as well as grabbing someone (or something) to serve as a connection to all the planets they may visit in the future [i.e. he visits a new planet every time and meets someone to expand his network or make allies]?

Definitely! Character's can build a business and live in it, that's their choice.

You can do that with other characters in the game or even with NPCs that you create within Thisavrou. Feel free to create unique NPCs that come into contact with your character. You can handwave those interactions, of course, and have those connections grow!

Jobwise - if characters are going to be living on farms is it sensible to just assume they're farmers/herders? Does the rent-free thing take the place of a salary or would they get any kind of a stipend, orrr are they expected to cover other expenses by selling produce/whatever?

There are mentions of hunters on Chioni-- is that more hobby-hunting or are there major demands for game?

The housing document seems set up for one person per residence-- is there anything special we should be doing if characters are sharing housing, or does each person just put in for the same location..?

Hey!!

You can still pick the job title that you like. It can be farmer/herder or more specific like Corn Farmer. Lmao. Whatever you want. The rent free thing takes place of having to buy any of that stuff. Like the equipment, produce/animals, house, etc. The salary that they would get would be from selling whatever they grow or raise (so you'd still get a salary every month).

It's hobby and research hunting. People might come around asking for hunters to take them out, or to hunt for them, etc.

If characters are sharing a house, just note it on the comment when you submit and we'll fix up the sheet to show who all will be listed there. Only one person would have to supply a comment for the residence, no matter however many are living there.

Hrn... so, how would we calculate base pay for that?

So then since bonus AC money is mysterious windfalls, could I just assume Daryl's moonlighting as a hunter for kicks and cash and to go hide in the woods sometimes? Would that require a permit?

Also, would his ridiculous motorcycle require some kind of permit/license?

Aaaand on a more nitpicky, stupid note-- looking at January I don't actually have an AC-length thread, just a couple that are one comment short. I *do* have like... a six or seven comment segment of a December thread, done after submitting December activity... I know there used to be an option for using continuations of old threads for AC, is that still so, or do I need to take a strike?

I suggest taking a look at the finances page and then picking an amount of sencs that you think would fit. We're not going to give a base pay for a farmer because some might grow a ton and some might grow hardly anything. Just consider how much Daryl might actually be able to grow and sell, then that's what he would make every month. If you don't want to get that involved, then look at the other listed jobs and slide him into a salary that you think fits.

It is! ICly they can get bonuses from work, find it on the street, win the lottery (is that at thing lmao) or any other reason you want.

Permits aren't a huge expense unless you decide to get your character something like a giant space ship or an alien dog that's mean and big as a dinosaur. These permits are just in case something crazy happens and Savrii need to track down who had the animal/ship. You can still apply for a motorcycle permit, or Daryl can just pretend like that's not something he needs to do. ICly he could get by without having one.

As for AC, you can count any tag one time no matter the month it was in if it is for bonus (sencs). If it's for the actual activity proof, then it'd have to be for the month that check pertains to, so January. You can still combine threads. So if you have one thread that is four and another that is one, just submit them both.

I think I'd like for Natasha to open a gym/dance studio where she could have a job teaching self defense and dance so that people here have another way to keep in shape, so I have two main questions for starters -- one: would this kind of business even be okay-ed to pursue to begin with, and two: how long should I plan to let this process take both ICly and OOCly (especially because she's a fairly new character in game, having only been here since December) if it is okay?

Hey! This business is definitely okay and you can let the process last as long as you think it would for someone like Natasha to get it together. It doesn't matter if you've only been around since December. Just go with what Nat would do. If she'd be quick and efficient, than you can say it took less time and vice versa. I hope this helps!

I'm assuming there won't be any issue with children applying for housing? If I have Girl sign up for a farm or apartment or something on her own, I'm assuming the people overseeing things in that region will just let her as long as she pays, correct?

In the third region the cost of a tree house is marked permanent. Excuse me if this is a dumb question but is that to mean its a one time payment or that it just means the character 'owns' the home rather than renting?

Edit: Do characters absolutely have get housing? Could a character just camp out/functionally be homeless for a while? Maybe set up a tent somewhere and call it home until they figured out a better living situation?

Hey!!

There won't be any trouble. People of all ages can apply for houses. As long as she pays, she can do it. The housing in the third region is a one time fixed price because the people who built it want it that way. So they'd own the place.

They do not have to get housing. They can sleep in the woods, on someone's couch, wherever they are comfortable.

It's not. It died with the MIDs, but someone could create the new function for the TABs.

Hey! If Elena wants to pass them on, she definitely can. There wouldn't be any reason why she could give them new homes/parents.

So for accommodation at the Ingress Complex, if there is no private bathroom in the accommodation itself, where is it? I notice some of the rooms have a thing that looks like a bathroom, so I was curious.

Apologies if this is a dumbass question and I'm utterly misunderstanding.

Hey!! Some of the rooms can have bathrooms added on if you want to upgrade, but the majority have communal style bathrooms.

Forgive me if this was answered somewhere and I just didn't see it. Question about traveling as far as the different regions in Kauto go. Is there a quick way to hop between the regions?

That would be the EN-Line (there's info about it on locations/housing/welcome guide) if you need specific stuff per area. Of its five occupied regions, only the first connects directly to the Ingress hub, but EN-Line travel can be found across the planet, running at frequent and regular intervals of both day and night. Just a few corrections that need to be made on the FAQ:

"It is up to your character how they fair in Thisavrou" should be use the word 'fare'.

One question says, "How do re-apps wor?" This same section refers to the application rounds that used to be used for applications, as does the next question.

The questions "Can I app a non-human character?" and "What if my character is immortal?" still refer to the limitations of the Moira.

The question "What about the Test Drive Meme?" also refers to reserves opening and closing.

The immortals question still contains the following sentence: "It is space, so it is typically black, but they will come across new suns/moons/stars/planets, so if your character is affected by any of that, then they still would be."

It also states, "We like to tell players that if they need something specific like this for their character to put it in the app; the ship's captains will do everything they can to accommodate their new crew."

These are the references to the Moira in this section I was referring to.

That first line still applies. There aren't suns/moons shining down on Thisavrou but there will be travel that allows that to be an issue so we'll be leaving that in.

At least on my screen, several of the nav links on that page are off the purple background. Since they're written in white, they're impossible to see. I thought at first you didn't include the taken list until I accidentally highlighted the page and saw all the links written in white that were situated below where the purple background ended.
