If your character would try to solve the riddle, then respond to the comment below that is marked Riddle Prompt with what answer your character would give. Each character that guesses correctly will be allowed inside the room with one other character. It's a one time entry only and only one guess allowed. You can only have your character participate in this prompt if they guessed correctly or was invited as a guest.
The Dates:
RNG for the plot drop will be done on Tuesday the Sixth. A mod will respond to the riddle responses on Sunday evening. Comment before then if you want to participate. The riddle section is now closed.
Hi, mods. So, Fatima can communicate with plants. If she were to start questioning the local flora about the natives, what kind of information might she get?
1) Would they be allowed to gather medical kits/supplies to take? Obviously within time to evacuate.
2) Should we assume that all characters get into an EEU?
3) If a character's mind was specifically shielded against all forms of psychic tampering, could they remain resistant to or have moments of resistance to the compulsion?
For this event I feel I'd like to play with the fact that Tex is actually an AI and have her lose her human body, her robot body, or potentially both. Since the natives of the planet are offering temporary forms for AIs, I'm wondering if they'd also be able to revive her human body if it died.
Would Force-sensitive types be able to sense anything about the jungle or the fog? Would the lack of animal life register in any particular way?
Similarly, would they be able to sense anything about the hosts?
Would anything in the Force alert them to the compulsive aspect of the party? Would someone strong with the Force be able to resist the partygoing urge?
And hey, why not, would they be able to tell anything about the mystery room?
If someone tried asking the natives why they do this for people, and why they have all of these humanoidy outfits and jewellery when they can't wear it themselves, what might the answer be?
so there's no wildlife in the jungle but what about the sea?
riptide may be likely to go for some dives because alone time is nice and not many ppl can follow him underwater, so i was wondering what sort of stuff he'd find down there if any
Is there any indication at all via observation, just "careful noticing and peering around," that the hosts might have caused the ship crash to begin with?
(I'm assuming the answer to this is no, btw! But I thought it would be better to ask. I am also assuming that there really isn't any opportunity to get into areas that would reveal anything like this without being seen.)
ETA: Also, how would a character who's a little overly concerned about Ploiatos find out what's going on with that while the ship is crashed? Is there a way? (Talking to the Captain or First Mate, etc?)
Just working out some logistics with the persuasive influence on the crew members at the party and checking on some assumptions I made in threads before I get much further with them.
1) If Tex jumps out of the temporary body they gave her, will she realize she's being influenced? In other words, is the influence gone if she reverts to a pure AI form?
2) Does this influence only last during the party, or does it continue until whenever the next plot element drops later in the month? So whether or not Tex is able to realize something's wrong, will the other characters around her continue to feel its effects even afterwards?
1. As regards the ship shutdown-- is the MID network permanently affected, or only during the crash? And how limited are the "fractured communications"? Would a character in the ship's systems be out for the duration if they weren't extracted in time, or would parts of the ship be turned back on during the presumed attempts at repair afterwards?
2. The log says staying on the Moira isn't a possibility, but also that some characters will lurk back with the ship. Is there anything stopping a character from doing so, and what would be going on there if they did?
3. The answers to some other questions indicates the compulsion to participate applies when a character gets close to the festivities. Is it a matter of proximity to the party, or proximity to the alien settlement? (e.g., does it kick in the moment they go up the steps, once the feast begins, once they see an alien...?) If someone went there planning to sneak around and be suspicious, how long would it take for them to get hit by the effect?
4. Editing to add-- would scanning the forest, beach, or party area (insofar as a character would be able to want to, there) turn up anything unexpected? Said scans would usually be capable of detecting electrical power or living creatures (within a certain distance), or recent travel patterns thereof.
Belated question, but since I'm threading Bruce leaving the party for a while, I need to know: would the compulsion start to fade the farther away from the party he is or would it remain? Would he realize that something was weird while he was there? I read somewhere that some characters might feel the urge to go back to the party, but of those who wouldn't, would it be possible that they just snap to their senses and go 'oh shit I can't believe I just did that' or would they just be like 'whatever' and be very lax about what they and other people were doing back at the party (and thus remain unsuspicious/oblivious about it)?

Since they are abandoning the ship does it mean that they're going to stay with the hosts or do they back to Moira for the night?

Re: Questions/Comments
- for characters with private craft, can they evacuate via those instead?
- is it possible to leave the party and back to the jungle, or is it more of a hotel california situation?
thanks kindly!
