This post is for signing up for plot and for the riddle prompt on the event log.
If you would like to be RNG'd to be given plot for this event, three people will be picked, then sign up underneath the comment below that is marked Plot Drop. Do not sign up for this unless you will be able to share the info you are given.
If your character would try to solve the riddle, then respond to the comment below that is marked Riddle Prompt with what answer your character would give. Each character that guesses correctly will be allowed inside the room with one other character. It's a one time entry only and only one guess allowed. You can only have your character participate in this prompt if they guessed correctly or was invited as a guest.
The Dates:
RNG for the plot drop will be done on Tuesday the Sixth. A mod will respond to the riddle responses on Sunday evening. Comment before then if you want to participate. The riddle section is now closed.
1. As regards the ship shutdown-- is the MID network permanently affected, or only during the crash? And how limited are the "fractured communications"? Would a character in the ship's systems be out for the duration if they weren't extracted in time, or would parts of the ship be turned back on during the presumed attempts at repair afterwards?
2. The log says staying on the Moira isn't a possibility, but also that some characters will lurk back with the ship. Is there anything stopping a character from doing so, and what would be going on there if they did?
3. The answers to some other questions indicates the compulsion to participate applies when a character gets close to the festivities. Is it a matter of proximity to the party, or proximity to the alien settlement? (e.g., does it kick in the moment they go up the steps, once the feast begins, once they see an alien...?) If someone went there planning to sneak around and be suspicious, how long would it take for them to get hit by the effect?
4. Editing to add-- would scanning the forest, beach, or party area (insofar as a character would be able to want to, there) turn up anything unexpected? Said scans would usually be capable of detecting electrical power or living creatures (within a certain distance), or recent travel patterns thereof.
1. The MID network was only temporarily down during the crash and the fractured communications would have only lasted a few hours after. It's perfectly functional now. If they were in the system and not extracted they could be stuck for a little while, but repairs started immediately and are ongoing. The crew would have checked for crew, such as AI's in the system, right after the crash.
2. Staying on wasn't a possibility since they didn't know how bad the crash would be. Evacuation was needed. Characters can choose to stay with the ship or go. They can lurk back in if they want, nothing is stopping them except for the water and the ship being semi-functional while it's being repaired.
3. That depends on the character, some are affected strongly immediately and others have to build up to it. The most significant change is at the feast, but some could feel it sooner.
4. The beach is pretty standard, and the forest is really overgrown and hard to navigate, with absolutely no animals. All scans for life would come from the hosts establishment, except that there are fish in the sea.

I hope this helps!

One more followup-- if someone (the mainframe) inquired into Mana's status after the crash, what would they be told?
