Ingress travel can be disorienting, but there’s no need to worry! All side effects are temporary and lessen with each trip. Your body may experience several sensations at once: being pushed forward as if a hand is resting on your back, momentary and startling blindness, a gentle ringing in your head. You may have difficulty discerning whether it is hot or cold, but where you have been prodded is noticeably warmer than the rest of you. Some may suffer from dizziness while others are perfectly fine. You notice that the area you are in is filled with a soft cerulean light and feels slightly humid and dark despite the glow around you. Regardless of your current state, however, the stress of initial Ingress travel forces your body into unconsciousness.
Waking up is another story. Or maybe it isn’t.
You find yourself in a nondescript room; sometimes with others who have found themselves in the same situation, sometimes alone. A medical tech is always present to explain what’s happened before giving you some clothes, a TAB, and a guide that discusses things in further detail. This entire process also consists of a complete work-up of medical history and current health in order to obtain your signature—a specific frequency that will allow them to hone in on exactly where it is you’re from in order to get you back there. You spend your first week on the Ingress Complex while other accommodations and arrangements are made for you.

verrfit
⋆ Verrfit is classified as Exploration Class (EC) and is open to all travelers. Once they have set foot upon the planet, they'll find a sweet scent upon the air nearly overwhelming until their senses adjust. The planet appears to be unsettled, largely devoid of intelligent life, at least above the surface; much of Verrfit is covered in water, but the liquid is sticky, red and has a sugary smell (though anyone who tastes it will discover it has a terribly bitter aftertaste.) Small islets are covered with verdant plant life and gritty beaches; when the sun hits it just right, the sand seems to sparkle. Islets are connected by thin strips of land, but sand bars also make it easier to wade from one to another. Weather is fair, but those who look up into the sky will notice that the sun is distorted, as if a warped pane of glass high above is preventing clarity.
⋆ One particular islet is craggier than most others, full of rocks and much less plant life. Those who stumble upon a particularly foreboding cave will find that it is easy to explore, requiring only a little hunching from the tallest, and leads to a passage that leads down into the earth. Perhaps it's the breeze coming through that sounds like whispers and voices from afar? Or maybe it's a property of the stone around them that reaches into their very minds, calling forth images and eventually, if they linger, mild hallucinations of whatever it is they fear. Whatever it is, it's certainly spooky.

raven darkholme | x-men.
[ Raven wakes up and is, after a moment of dizzy disorientation, alert, pushing herself up and tilting her head as she tries to take in where she is. This is nothing like the place she had fallen asleep - a room in the mansion, almost like home but different, since her room had been a shrine before it had been destroyed - and she's prepared for whatever might come at her, skimming around before she stands up a little taller. There doesn't seem to be anything around, and that's as disorientating as waking up here in the first place, her frustration clear on her face.
Eventually, she goes forward and is greeted by the stranger - and none of it sits well with her. She doesn't trust people easily at the best of times and she has no reason whatsoever to think that she can trust some random person telling her that her health is fine while they're obtaining some sort of signature from her. It sounds a little bit too much like registration for her to be comfortable and she's immediately trying to move away, shifting out of place and out of the complex altogether, not paying much attention to where she's going or who she might end up walking into.
It doesn't matter, really. She just wants to find a way out. She's been told she has to wait for a week, but at the same time she's a little bit on the edge of stubborn. ]
NETWORK
[ When she's a little more settled - and she's realised she's not going anywhere - she decides the best thing to do is hit the network and try to find some intel. She doesn't feel safe, and it makes her frustrated, on the edge of anger. ]
How long have you been here?
[ There's no specified audience; she's just curious, angrily so. ]
Network | I lied, hi
[Which is vague in kind--he can absolutely play at this kind of petty--but not exactly untrue, even in its massive omission.]
HELLO
<3
[Which might,
and should, given that he hasn't made any of it, sound ridiculous coming from him.]All things told, it could be much worse, couldn't it?
no subject
[ Which is... Awful, but she's frustrated enough. ]
That doesn't mean it shouldn't be better.
no subject
But I'm not content to give what little agency we do still have away so easily. I don't think you are either.
no subject
[ Not anymore, at least. ]
It doesn't mean I'm going to stop trying to get home.
no subject
I'd at least know everyone was in one piece, back home.
[Not...exactly true. But he doesn't know about the state of anything after destroying Cerebro for what must be the...whatever time it may be is too many. He doesn't really want to keep count. As far as he's aware, at least the school still theoretically functions as the safe haven it's meant to be.]
no subject
[ Because she's a little bit nosey, at least, and she wants to devour as much intel and information as she can. There are obviously more people here than she can recognise and to learn more about other worlds... It's not something she can help, really. She's too nosey.
She wants to know about other mutants, too, but that seems like a whole other situation. ]
We can't be sure everyone's okay, can we?

/peeks in here
[But he'll complain anyway.]

SLAMS IN HERE WITH THE c-c-c-combo breaker!! aka ingress
He's gotten used to names blipping up every now and then, only to disappear after a little while-- like they had never really existed, but once he notices that it doesn't go away is the time he decides to take action. Rushing to the complex isn't something he's done since the slaver incident; he's still lingering on that far too long for his liking, although he believes he deserves to sit with the guilt for a decent length of time. They'd done something ridiculously impulsive - stupid, really - and needed to deal with the consequences of their actions.
It'd been a moment of weakness, much like how arguing with the some of the higher-ups at the front of the Complex right now is.] What do you mean you haven't seen her?
[He gestures vaguely at nothing in particular then plants both hands on his hips, features creased with irritation.] She's blue-- with yellow eyes and red hair, [a beat, his nose wrinkling more with contemplation.] Why does my reason for seeking her out matter? [The answer he receives is not what he expected and with a huff of annoyance, he throws an arm into the air, pivots on the ball of his foot and takes off, muttering underneath his breath in German, entirely unaware that Raven is far closer than he knows.]
ITS BEEN SO LONG!!!!!
Kurt. There's warmth that floods her and for a moment she's speechless before she's stepping forward and hearing him searching for her. Somehow he knew she was here and - well, she was hiding in plain sight, almost. It's funny enough to have her smiling wryly as she moves around the complex to walk up behind him, stepping into his space with crossed arms. ]
Maybe you weren't looking for the right person.
[ She'd a pale skinned blonde right now, after all, not a blue redhead, and she tilts her head as she tries to fight the rush of joy and contentment she feels seeing him standing in front of her, as if they'd never been apart. One of her X-Men, looking for her - even if he was being a little bit loud about it. ]
Hi, Kurt.
TOO LONG D:
Speaking of which, he will have to apologize later for his volume. Being on an alien planet where he doesn't need to worry about his appearance has made him a bit forgetful of those who might still be wary of such things.
He hesitates mid-step at the sound of the voice behind him, turning to spare a glance over his shoulder then blinking inquisitively. Kurt's seen this form before-- back on Earth, where the original school resides. Many things come rushing back all at once, starting with the earlier mishap of his own shapeshifting, followed then by the decontamination and events that had followed, eventually leading up to the infiltration of the slaver planet.
The sensation of his heart dropping into his stomach is substantial, but the blue boy smiles at her anyway, the slightest bit of relief easing the distress of the past few weeks.]
Raven, [he manages, chest swelling with pride at the fact his instincts had been correct. Suddenly, it was like everything felt normal-- if only for a short period of time. Reassurance settles comfortably on his shoulders, making him slump with nonchalance and maybe some confidence.] You are here.
[Another pause.] Ah, perhaps 'hi' would have been a more proper response.
MOMMA IS HERE
She's doing her best, though, and that's why she's gone out of her way to track Kurt down after hearing his voice outside the complex. As much as she's used to the life of being a vigilante... Raven doesn't actually want to be alone.
Even now, though, seeing Kurt makes her chest sting, just a little bit. She feels it thick in her throat, desperate and a little unsure, despite the confidence she forces into her features. He believes in her, and it's a heavy weight to bear - him, to this boy, she's a hero, even if it doesn't make sense. Really, after what happened in Cairo... He's the real hero.
She's just raven. ]
I am. [ He smiles at her and she wants to reach out and touch him, unfamiliar instincts making her feel heavy and unsure, but she stops herself. Instead, she takes a step closer, tilting her head as she takes in all the new body language she's picking up.
Something's changed, but she's not sure what. ]
Where is 'here', Kurt?
ffffff MUM <3
He'd hate to say something that would make her disappointed in him now.
So, alternatively, Kurt straightens and squares his shoulders, holding one hand out to motion across the spanse of the area surrounding them.] Right now, we're at the Ingress Complex. It's where most newcomers end up, unless they happen to fall through on one of the recently discovered planets or ones that we're able to visit at the time.
Thisavrou consists of two planets, though. [He reaches the same hand back to rub the nape of his neck, the other one moving to settle at his waist.] Chioni is where most of the scientists, hunters, and researchers live, since it's thriving with so much life. The temperatures are sporadic, but I have a friend who enjoys her home there. Kauto is where the shops, hospitals and other sorts of things are located. It's also where I live with most of the other mutants.
[He's hoping this isn't too much new information to take in all at once. Raven's probably going to be surprised at the fact there are other mutants around, though that's exactly what Kurt's expecting and he's already excited at the thought of getting to tell her just who else was here.]
Aside from the main locations, the other planets are all different and have equally interesting things to investigate. I've only traveled to Deslora, though. It was ... odd.
[That was one way to put it, sure.]
