Ingress travel can be disorienting, but there’s no need to worry! All side effects are temporary and lessen with each trip. Your body may experience several sensations at once: being pushed forward as if a hand is resting on your back, momentary and startling blindness, a gentle ringing in your head. You may have difficulty discerning whether it is hot or cold, but where you have been prodded is noticeably warmer than the rest of you. Some may suffer from dizziness while others are perfectly fine. You notice that the area you are in is filled with a soft cerulean light and feels slightly humid and dark despite the glow around you. Regardless of your current state, however, the stress of initial Ingress travel forces your body into unconsciousness.
Waking up is another story. Or maybe it isn’t.
You find yourself in a nondescript room; sometimes with others who have found themselves in the same situation, sometimes alone. A medical tech is always present to explain what’s happened before giving you some clothes, a TAB, and a guide that discusses things in further detail. This entire process also consists of a complete work-up of medical history and current health in order to obtain your signature—a specific frequency that will allow them to hone in on exactly where it is you’re from in order to get you back there. You spend your first week on the Ingress Complex while other accommodations and arrangements are made for you.

verrfit
⋆ Verrfit is classified as Exploration Class (EC) and is open to all travelers. Once they have set foot upon the planet, they'll find a sweet scent upon the air nearly overwhelming until their senses adjust. The planet appears to be unsettled, largely devoid of intelligent life, at least above the surface; much of Verrfit is covered in water, but the liquid is sticky, red and has a sugary smell (though anyone who tastes it will discover it has a terribly bitter aftertaste.) Small islets are covered with verdant plant life and gritty beaches; when the sun hits it just right, the sand seems to sparkle. Islets are connected by thin strips of land, but sand bars also make it easier to wade from one to another. Weather is fair, but those who look up into the sky will notice that the sun is distorted, as if a warped pane of glass high above is preventing clarity.
⋆ One particular islet is craggier than most others, full of rocks and much less plant life. Those who stumble upon a particularly foreboding cave will find that it is easy to explore, requiring only a little hunching from the tallest, and leads to a passage that leads down into the earth. Perhaps it's the breeze coming through that sounds like whispers and voices from afar? Or maybe it's a property of the stone around them that reaches into their very minds, calling forth images and eventually, if they linger, mild hallucinations of whatever it is they fear. Whatever it is, it's certainly spooky.

[Waking up on the Ingress Complex filled her with the biggest sense of deja-vu. It took time for it to come back to her, her mind as fuzzy as it was from the Ingress, but eventually the memories began to creep through the fog: she was back.
Sort of, anyway. It didn't take her long to realize this wasn't the same place she had left. At first she wondered if maybe she had just fallen asleep again, thrown into cryo like so many times before, but she was assured by the personnel that she had only just arrived. Between what she was able to drag out of the technician and the information packet she received, she was able to start to piece together the timetable of events.
She remembered the Midway Hub -- she remembered the bodies, the awful smell, and most importantly, the Savrii and their promise for a way home.
And apparently she did go home.
Now her befuddled mind was racing, trying to take it all in. Even if it was familiar, that didn't change the fact that it happened all over again and she had to readjust. Not that she was going to let that slow her down. All she could think about was all of the friends she had made in her time here. Were any of them still here? Were they okay?
Still a bit dazed and ignoring the protests of the technician for her to wait until her body finished acclimating, Peggy grabbed her TAB and proceeded to exit Medbay. She knew the drill, but the woman was as stubborn as ever. She may have still been woozy but she had more important things to do: find her friends and find out what the bloody hell happened since she left.]

credence barebone. fbawtft.
[ credence wakes up not knowing where he is. he is nauseated and frightened and nothing looks familiar at all. he immediately panics and there are several (a lot of) moments where medical technicians have to try and calm him down because he tenses and shakes almost like he's having a seizure but the truth of the matter is his magic is fighting and dark and desperate. eyes flickering white black white black white with black smoke curling out his fingers, from under his clothing—
—a young woman with dark hair is able to finally calm him, reading his name softly off of a chart. talking him down is a trial but they manage it before needing to contain him. she takes over his case, explaining and teaching and doing his medical scans. once everything is finally done he just ... sits out in one of the main areas, trying to get over being so overwhelmed. even sitting he's hunched forward with his head down, hands in his lap so that he doesn't take up much space. maybe people will leave him alone. ]
verrfit: the caves.
[ he hadn't actually meant to end up here: credence had just been afraid of hurting anyone and so he'd wanted to go somewhere that no one would be close enough to be harmed if something happened. something like his obscurus exploding out of him and causing damage and killing people and—
—the cave is quiet at first. only at first though, and credence is just settling in where the light barely touches enough to see without a light on his tab on. he's not down in the passage proper, still close to the surface, but voices are gently tugging at him and there are images in his mind that he can't explain. his mother had spoken of visions before but there are two kinds: sacred and damned. he wonders which these are as he hunches closer to the wall.
it'd be very difficult to miss him in the dim light save for the fact that his pale skin is almost luminous; a white face in the shadows. ]

garrett // thief
If this had been over a year ago, Garrett would have taken this a lot poorer than most. There's nothing in the City that's as advanced as this- automatons or no. It even outdoes the soul and the heart of the automaton that he stole, though he's sure he won't ever really understand what the both of them are beyond trophies. He supposes the reason he takes all of this in stride is simply because he's seen Even Weirder Shit(TM) than what he's viewing right now. The people there try to help him, but the thief puts up enough of a fuss that in the end, they leave him be.
As it is, he's scurried out of the medical area as soon as he could and taken to a darker corner of one of the alleyways in the complex. It's not home, but it's better than being out in the light, and Garrett is one who works best in the shadows. Don't mind the thin figure making its way up a wall, or carefully gazing out into the crowds that pass him by, or his right eye that glows an eerie aqua before a wisp of smoke trails out of it. He's not trying to be a creep (keyword: trying, because he is a creep), only observing for the time being.
2a. kauto
Did someone leave their jewelry unattended? Missing a watch? Is your wallet lighter than it should be? It's probably thanks to this guy. If nothing else, Garrett has gone to his usual habits and is stealing what he considers to be profitable for fences as well as his own trophy collection. Things aren't as easy to get here, though, and that's incredibly frustrating for a man who goes by the title of "Master Thief." Well, frustrating and thrilling as a challenge. He has yet to figure out how to bypass the more electronic security of certain places, or how to hack, but those will come in due time.
On this particular night he's working on raiding a not-so-guarded home from its valuables, slipping out from a window and shutting it with utmost care. It doesn't look like he has anything valuable in his hands, but he probably does. Right now, he's doing what he can to not be caught.
2b. Kauto
Or maybe you're being told to work with him on a certain job, or have requested to work with him. Partnerships leave a bad taste in his mouth these days, reminding him too much of Erin- but Garrett has to take what he can get on Savrou, and so he agrees to it.
That doesn't exactly mean he's going to be friendly about it, or courteous.]
Your footsteps are too loud.
[Said as an offhand comment during the job, his tone mixed between sarcasm and mockery. He's hoping to get this work done quick and easy, and all he's getting right now is a headache. At this rate, it's never going to get done, or done well.]

raven darkholme | x-men.
[ Raven wakes up and is, after a moment of dizzy disorientation, alert, pushing herself up and tilting her head as she tries to take in where she is. This is nothing like the place she had fallen asleep - a room in the mansion, almost like home but different, since her room had been a shrine before it had been destroyed - and she's prepared for whatever might come at her, skimming around before she stands up a little taller. There doesn't seem to be anything around, and that's as disorientating as waking up here in the first place, her frustration clear on her face.
Eventually, she goes forward and is greeted by the stranger - and none of it sits well with her. She doesn't trust people easily at the best of times and she has no reason whatsoever to think that she can trust some random person telling her that her health is fine while they're obtaining some sort of signature from her. It sounds a little bit too much like registration for her to be comfortable and she's immediately trying to move away, shifting out of place and out of the complex altogether, not paying much attention to where she's going or who she might end up walking into.
It doesn't matter, really. She just wants to find a way out. She's been told she has to wait for a week, but at the same time she's a little bit on the edge of stubborn. ]
NETWORK
[ When she's a little more settled - and she's realised she's not going anywhere - she decides the best thing to do is hit the network and try to find some intel. She doesn't feel safe, and it makes her frustrated, on the edge of anger. ]
How long have you been here?
[ There's no specified audience; she's just curious, angrily so. ]

Lavellan | Dragon Age | crau
[ Not the welcome she wanted. It takes far too long for her to leave medical, too many people poking and fawning over the intricate scarring of an arm gone from this world, despite her numerous quiet and polite attempts to tell them otherwise. She tugs her half-cloak down over it to mask the missing limb as she moves on, examining the structure of what is to be her new home. No matter what she's experienced in her life, this...this is almost too much. It brightens her stormy gaze with a shimmer of curiosity and wonder she hasn't shown in what seems like too long, and she's eager to explore, bare feet on the cold steel.
There's so much to discover. She turns around as she walks, eyes everywhere, and it's not completely unlikely for her to brush past someone accidentally or even run into them. She gives a brief dip of her head, flushing with embarrassment. ]
My apologies. I believe I'm a little starstruck.
kauto (r2).
[ From Inquisitor to farmer. It could be worse.
In fact, it isn't so unlike what she'd been doing before. She tends to animals and to some crops, going back to living off of the land. It seems so stagnant, honestly; there's hardly any movement or travel, no clan or packs of friends to call her own. But it's...peaceful, she supposes, and quiet. Quiet enough that thoughts can stew and coalesce and leave her feeling sore again and again, even when there's nothing for her to be angry about.
She has the time now. She has the chance to think on what to do to help Thedas. She won't be allowed the opportunity to do this once she returns. Every hour, every day is another wasted while Solas continues his work.
Bleating from her charges - a pack of gentle and odd little creatures that she's never seen before - alert her to a visitor. Who...promptly gets completely overrun by the animals she's tending to, like a pack of overly chipper baby deer with the personalities of puppies. Nasrin leans on her staff and laughs. ]
I thought I was protecting them but it looks like they can take care of things on their own. [ More bleating. She sighs. ] Need some help?

Quorra | Tron: Legacy
[ Once the jarring, initial shock had worn off from her systems -- she had made it into the User world, but evidently not Flynn's world -- that disorientation had been replaced by sheer excitement. There isn't just one User world to see and experience, there are many. And the moment Quorra is given the opportunity to go off and explore, she instantly jumps at the chance.
There is so much to take in when she sets foot on the planet, it's almost overwhelming. The green flora sprinkled all over, the way the sun (the sun!) scatters across the red water, how it makes the sand flicker with thousands of tiny speckles of light, even just the sun itself, shining high above her -- she can't help but be fascinated.
After spending a good long time at the shore, Quorra eventually wanders out to one of the rockier islets and discovers the cave. Curiosity is what first draws her into the dark, damp passage, her pearl white circuits casting a pale light onto the rock surrounding her. But the breeze -- or was that a voice? -- sends a prickle of uneasiness through her. ]
... Hello? [ No answer. She's about to turn around, get out of this eerie place, when an image presses itself into her thoughts, unbidden -- an impression of gold circuits on black, a smug smirk, sickening in all its familiarity. Dread surges through her and Quorra inhales a sharp breath, taking a surprised step backwards, unaware of anyone that may've come up behind her. ]

sara lance ( dctv )
Curious about what I should do first: find out where the best place to get a drink is or ask what a girl with a unique skill set does for a job.
( verrfit )
Somehow I don't think I'm in Kansas anymore.
( Even though Sara's done the whole time travelling thing she's not done the alien planet exploration thing. Technically this is her second, or maybe third if the Ingress counts alongside Kauto, but at least Kauto had similarities to Earth. This... was red.
And sweet.
She's wrinkling her nose up from the moment she arrives, trying to find something to smell other than that, and takes a few cursory steps around )
Do you have any idea what we're supposed to find here?
( Or is it all completely unknown exploration. That's not the fun kind )
