Player Plot OOC
Hi everyone! This is Sue, and I hope you guys get a kick out of my player plot! As you can probably tell, there’s a lot of stuff going on on Earth 91c, so I thought I’d sum up some of the stuff your character can get into and provide a place to improve your chances of getting involved in the log’s events and characters.
First of all, besides exploring the general setting of Earth 91c, there are a couple of subplots your characters can get involved in. One is a murder mystery involving the killing of two humans by a Program named Kess at a political rally. There’s already some information in the log itself about this terrible crime and there will be more clues and investigation opportunities unfolding in the next few days. In addition, a group of renegade Created operating out of the Manufacturing District are seeking mercenaries for a special retrieval/raid job, as described under the “Missions Available” of the event log. Characters interested in participating can sign up below. If selected, they’ll have an opportunity to help the Created of Earth 91c and maybe make some money along the way.
Hope y’all enjoy the event, and feel free to ask any questions you may have here!
Event Timeline
June 4th: Event Log posted + NPC Broadcast #1
June 6th: NPC Broadcast #2
June 18th: Raid participants announced + Player vote
June 22nd: Raid start + Player vote results announced
Sign up for Atarah encounter/raid: Burgling the Burglars
In the log for this event, you may have noticed that Atarah, the Program leader of the underworld faction operating out of Rook Manufacturing is searching for what amounts to mercenaries who want to help the Programs of Eastgate. The job she has in mind is a retrieval mission that will involve taking back an object of extreme importance from a violently anti-Program group that has stolen it. She promises riches to any who can bring the object back to her intact. If you would like to participate in this raid, PM Atarah’s journal with your characters’ names and what they would do to convince Atarah that they are the right person for the job (i.e, perform well in the arena, give an awesome speech about Created rights, do a cool magic trick, etc). Note that sign-ups for the raid close on June 18th at which point those chosen will be notified and given the names of their party-members, linked to closed top-level for threading purposes, and told what they will find while on the raid. Also note that, while those who go on the raid will be the ones rewarded by Atarah for the return of the object, what is ultimately done with it will be decided by a game-wide vote.
Sign-up for Calla encounter: What’s in a name?
In the encrypted message posted to the network, the writer mentions someone by the name of Calla before their message is cut off. Besides this name, it is also known that this “Calla” is male, judging by the pronoun used directly afterwards. From this information and the information given in the player plot log, it is possible to deduce where Calla can be found, what manner of being he is, and what he looks like. If you would like to increase your character’s chances of encountering Calla, PM the account
creatorequal with any conclusions/guesses you have about his location and identity, whether you want your character to have figured it out ICly or not (if not, Calla will approach them coincidentally), and a link to the top-level/log you would like to be tagged if you already have one up. Those who guess correctly will be guaranteed an encounter with Calla. These signups will be open until the night of June 9th, at which point Calla will begin tagging based on RNG and correct deductions.

(Also, wow, they totally don't know that it's a human doing the impersonating. How rude!)
Some questions:
- Do the case files have any data on who might potentially be interested in framing Delilah?
- Do the case files have the address of Delilah's current detainment center?
- Do the case files have the location of Kess' backup?
- If he does a search on Wright's social media history, what will he find?
no subject
- They mention that Delilah is being held in a local county jail but do not provide an address.
- Nihlus will be able to infer that Kess’s backup is being studied in the “hospital” sector of the CCOA.
- Daniel has a couple of social media accounts, both of which are very much office-approved. Most of his statuses are cheerful, but work-related. He has a few selfies with his co-workers. His educational profile says he graduated with a degree in business administration and law. He has a pet beagle.
no subject
After that, Nihlus will push his omni-gel advantage as well as using the data he'd harvested to attempt breaking an entering into the 'hospital' sector of the CCOA. This time, quite a bit more after hours.
His main goal is attempting to locate Kess' backup and see what the CCOA has managed to pull from it. What's the security like? How hard will it be to get into the building?
no subject
That said, Kess’s backup is kept in a secure locker that requires staff ID to open. The locker logs when its contents have been removed and returned. It shouldn’t be too hard to omni-gel it open, but if Nihlus does so, it will be on record that somebody was poking at sensitive evidence after hours.
Will Nihlus remove the backup and if he does, how will he attempt to investigate it?
no subject
After reaching the proper room and identifying that this is the right box, Nihlus will scan it with his omni-tool and detect the locker. Assuming there is no timely manner of bypassing the security measure with the box closed, he will omni-gel open it and see if he can access log there and if he can edit it.
Whether this goes through or not, he will definitely try to investigate the backup. Will the backup already be unlocked for the investigation or will he need to find the access code some other way?
no subject
The backup is coded to be locked to all except the members of a predetermined access list. As the backup is accessed partly through a psychic connection, there is no way for Nihlus to impersonate someone on that list. That said, Nihlus can use his hacking expertise to gain access anyway, though it will take a while, which will be recorded on the locker’s log unless he erases the entire day’s worth of access times.
Upon opening the backup, Nihlus will find that it reacts like any other program’s disk: what appears to be a holographic image of a young woman’s face will appear above the backup and he will have the options to access Kess’s memories and Kess’s code. Which will Nihlus access first?
