Calla

Who is this character? Calla, an NPC-turned-OC I made for a player plot a few months back!
Tell us something about them. Calla is a kind of artificial intelligence called a Program who once lived on a version of Earth that used all sorts of artificial intelligences as a source of free labor. Artificial intelligences were known collectively as Created, while humans were known in turn as Creators. Calla was a Created meant to serve/chat with/generally amuse people at an entertainment complex known as the Gardens… until he was forced to leave after events triggered by the PCs’ interference. Whoops! His experiences on Earth have left him with some code corruption, which manifests in an annoying ticking sound that he’s very self-conscious about. Personality-wise, he’s an anxious misanthrope who’s been programmed/trained to be friendly, respectful, and accommodating, so he can come off as a liiiitle bit two-faced.
How long have they been in the game? Three months!
Are they doing any kind of work around Avagi? He’s helped clean up various places, including the bar. He cleans when he doesn’t know what else to do, so. There’s been a lot of that :|b
Short-term goals? Long-term goals? He doesn’t even know tbh. It’s becoming increasingly obvious that things are never going to go back to “normal” for him and he’s unsure how to proceed in light of that. He’s torn between wanting to adapt to the circumstances and actually learn to do something useful and fearing the consequences of going against the will of his own Creators.
Specific CR requests? I’m going to try and build a lot more CR for Calla this month, which means following up with people he’s spoken to before and pushing him at new people! Calla straddles the line of being a misanthrope who believes most Creators are basically selfish and cruel and being literally born to socialize; he’d go crazy if he had to be on his own for long. Basically, gimme whatever you got! If your character is kind to him, he’ll be pleasantly surprised and if they’re not… well, he wasn’t expecting anything different, so w/e! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
