1) he is a roboperson which is really super cool?? rey never even dreamed there could be an entirely cybernetic alien species yet here we are surrounded by them.

2) he is funny and comes across as genuine, which she doesn't see often. almost everything out of his mouth is funny or stupid, and she's too endeared by his roboness to care about the latter.

3) if she had any idea what siblings were like, he'd probably be the little brother she'd boss around. for now, he is just someone she could consider a friend someday that she bosses around.

4) his paint job is REALLY RAD
