It's event time!
October

Hello everybody! It's time for our first on ship event. Events that run during on-ship months will be a bit more free form than on-planet months. This just means that we'll have all the information here and everyone can do whatever they'd like with it; posts, logs, and plotting out fun interactions.

October 17th - October 20th

Really early in the morning on the seventeenth, the ship runs into a storm. If you are awake, you might notice that the power goes out for about an hour before coming back on. Luckily the Moira's backup generators kick in during that time so the crew aren't in the dark or without life support. The captains send out a message through the MIDs telling everyone not to worry, the storm will be over soon. Anyone with a view of space will see that the area around the ship seems to be electric, crackling and sparking with soft purple spikes of light.

By the afternoon, the storm has passed, and everything will be back to normal; somebody has turned on the radio in the mess hall. It seems to be a rather anti-climactic end to a storm that knocked out the power. That evening, everyone will find a mask inside their post box; each mask will have their name on it. These are gifts found in the cargo hold, and given as a present from the captains. A little bit of art and fun to gloss over what they hope no one has noticed.

That during the storm, the energy breached the cargo hold, but as far as they are aware, has done no damage. They encourage everyone to wear them and enjoy themselves, but at appropriate levels of course.

The Masks:

Mask One: the wearer of this mask will suddenly have the ability to read other’s minds. If they focus they can even see memories from the other person’s past. Their behavior will be largely unchanged during the event, except for a noticeable difference in how curious they are. They will really want to know more about each person they come across.

Mask Two: the wearer of this mask will be able to shapeshift into an animal and can change back at any point. There is no limit to the number of times they can change, but while transformed they will exhibit some of the behaviors of the animal they’ve changed into.

Mask Three: the wearer of this mask will be able to manipulate emotions. They’ll discover that they can cause others to become sad, happy, mischievous, just by willing them to be. The only downside is that whatever emotion they place on another, they will feel twice fold until they stop. They have complete control over how and when they use their new abilities.

Mask Four: the wearer of this mask will be like royalty during this event. They will have the ability to command others to do their bidding, and the person will be obliged to do so. The side effects of wearing this mask is that the wearer will be noticeably more arrogant and believe themselves to be better than everyone else.

Mask Five: the wearer of this mask will appear to be the most graceful and beautiful person to anyone they come across. They will succeed at anything they endeavor to do, almost as if they are now brimming with luck that knows no bounds. Their behavior will be demure and pleasant, but ultimately very motivated to succeed in whatever they choose.

OOCly you will pick one of the masks described above and sign your character(s) up for it; this will be the mask that was placed inside their box. Each character will be affected in the manner described next to each mask, and will be that way whether they continue to wear the mask or not until the event is over. On the 20th, the captains will come to the conclusion that the masks were affected by the storm and ask for them to be returned. They will dispose of them and everyone will go back to normal.

He has mask number one!

I think, since it can be a sensitive topic, that it would be a lot of fun to do something where he sees someones memory or hears an awkward thought. This would all need to be plotted out ahead of time, because I like to be careful when it comes to this sort of thing.

Let me know if anyone wants to do something here. I'd be really interested in doing something with this.

I might be interested in doing something (I've been waiting for an opportune time to tag david....) but I don't know if when they BOTH HAVE Mask One would be the ideal time for these two to interact? Given that Jadzia has a lot of seemingly different emotions and memories, and I David isn't hyman? COULD BE INTERESTING OR IT COULD BE A HEADACHE?

I'd love to do something with Jadzia. You're right, David isn't human. He has other people's memories stored which could be fun to explore. We can do something with the masks or do something before or after the event if you aren't sure about them having the same masks. If you did decide to do something with them both in masks, we can do one of the options up there. Like have one person's mask work and the other's not. Or something, I'm totally flexible.

We could definitely use this event to think something up. Either catch a glimpse of a memory or some weird thought from Bruce, and it'd likely leave David interested in him. (I still need to think on what sort of thing, but I'll figure that one out. Or do share if you have thoughts on that front.) Y/N?

And so I don't spam your inbox with ooc comments, it'd also be great for Bruce to run into Eggsy as a dog. He loves dogs so he'd... idk, feed him and pet him and walk him around trying to figure out where he came from.

Oh wow, yeah. I think that'd be really awesome. David would be pretty interested if he saw some of what makes Bruce different from other humans, and then Bruce would have a robot following him around. Poking and prodding, just to see what will happen. :<

Haha. That'd be fun.

Yessss, perfect! He's been collecting weird people apparently, a robot will be fun. Even if it's one intent on poking at all the wrong things just to see what happens. <<
