Though would the Mainframe have any way to interact with someone who can't talk?

In the long run, they'll be fine; he'll be lurking in the cameras and perfectly able to read any text that gets waved or MID'd in his direction. In the short run... there, uh, might be a way. But it'd be about the worst thing ever.
He is in his access terminal. It does have a keyboard. Given how much typing the caretaker was doing, there's gotta be some kind of command line mode (probably what you get if you quit the menu options Arid was looking at), and I'm sure he can parse what gets typed into that even if it isn't an actually valid command. It'd just be the actual most terrifying option possible right after the formatting and you can bet he'd be panicking audibly the whole way.
(I share this idea less because I assume Zam would and more because I want to share the traumatizing mental image with someone. Enjoy~)

Honestly, Zam might try that at first just bc, well... a computer just popped through the Ingress, how else are they gonna communicate with it? But they'd back off if he told them to and then they'd be stuck in no-communication land again :c
...So, if that's not an option, maybe we should hold off on CR between these two until the Mainframe is set up in the cameras?

Would the Mainframe actually speak without prompting when he first arrives? Bc if all Zam sees is a silent computer terminal, they might actually try and input valid commands at first. Nothing malicious, of course, but maybe a "login" prompt or something. Possibly enough to freak the Mainframe out a little more than if they just input "hello" :,D
