Hey! I'm pretty sure that 2 out of J's jobs won't be considered as important ship wide (Makeup artist and bar manager), right?
And question: what if the characters are caught with not following their new routine and rules? Let's say, would get caught with tons of sweet snacks hidden and running a speakeasy?
I think if you want her to have them that she should go ahead as if they are essential. Come up with a reason for why they should be essential.
The captain or first mate would speak with them. They don't jump to conclusions or act without forethought. They might not mind the sweets or speakeasy.
Well, makeup artist I think I could argue is essential but idk about bar, especially if the they're trying to make things more efficient -- since having people getting drunk could be counter productive.
Editing this for new question & suggestion:
Even though there won't be any ic consequences for running a speakeasy without a permission, would it still be possible to do it behind the new authority's back and keep it very hush-hush? (we have even password system figured out hahah)
Another one that I was thinking: how are they going to react to smoking? I could see that their new policy could lean towards banning the cigarettes because smoking them would also mean burning a little the important oxygen and then there's the toxic smoke that gets to the air filtration system.
They can try to do it behind their back, but even when they find out, they won't stop it. It'll just be something they pretend isn't there.
With how advanced medicine is, smoking isn't really a problem for them. Smoke it up because they can fix any damage it does to the body later. Filtration won't be affected that majorly by it.
