State of the Game 2

M O D U P D A T E

Hello Savrites! We had originally intended this to be a normal mod update type of post, but we decided to do a State of The Game update instead. Mostly to let you know what's going on, where we're going, and where we'd like to end up. First, let's talk about apps! As per the calendar, applications will be opening up again on October 16th. We have changed some of the rules regarding apps to (hopefully) make it easier on both new and old players as well as the mods. They are reflected on the individual pages, but here is a summary: ☄ A reserve is now required for all applications. ☄ There will be an application cap. ☄ Any current player who officially drops may re-app a new character at any time, but only once every 2 months. The application cap will be set to 15 applications for new players and 15 applications for current players. This means we will have a total of 30 app slots open during October. Whichever slots are not filled will then be opened as a "free for all" on the last day of the cycle (October 22nd). Two Page Updates: Mini Games & Jobs TIMELINE: October - Mini Colony * see info below November - Ship Month December - Midway Hub January - Midway Hub February - Arc II Thisavrou Plot Specific Sign Ups Are Now Closed In October the ship will be touching down on the Runoff's Mini Colony. This is a mecha of trade and commerce, which is something we want to do a little bit of world building with. There are three sections below that players should participate in. The first is a sign up for location specific plot; take a look at the linked map and respond with your character's name and the corresponding number. Once all the numbers have been taken, we'll double them over for anyone else that signs up. The second section is to 'create a business'; in this section players can build a business and then NPC it during the event. The third is suggest something that occurs on the mini colony; you list it and if it fits, we'll approve it. All of this stuff will be built into the event logs when they come up. We'd really like our players' input. If anyone has questions about the upcoming event(s), Arc II, or anything else, let us know below. Thank you all for being amazing players.

☄ If your character asked Mil what type of business he was in, he would tell him that his only job is making sure Ela doesn't succeed in anything that he does. Mil's wealth is inherited so he doesn't need to run an actual business of his own. Mil would ask what the terms of the negotiation would be.

The terms would be that Magnus himself would go in and take down Ela's entire illegal operation, including bringing Ela into custody, thereby removing him entirely. In exchange, Magnus would like to see to it that the slaves from Ela's operation were cared for by Mil; given jobs and reintegrated into society. Magnus himself doesn't need much of anything aside from information about colony in general and any notable persons of interest, whether they be good or bad.

☄ Mil will agree to the terms completely. He'll give Magnus the intel he needs to make sure it's a smooth process and will ask that Magnus work with CISM as well since they want to help the slaves. When Magnus takes Ela down, he'll free almost a thousand slaves, and will stop one of the biggest slave traders in the runoff.

What sort of opposition would Magnus be facing when he goes against Ela? Where are they stationed and what's the collateral damage risk if he rolls in as a giant truck and starts subduing his enemies?

On that note, would it be safer to infiltrate as Minimus Ambus first to get a lay of the land, so to speak?

They are stationed inside the same zone, in the building next to Mil's fake building. They'll have standard weapons - guns, blades, etc. Some more advanced tech - laser guns, etc. but nothing quite up to Magnus level of defense.

You can have him infiltrate in whichever way he'd more likely do. He can get the lay of the land or he can bust in there. If he gets the lay of the land first then he could see how many people he has to subdue and stop, or he can wing it.

So, I've decided to have Minimus infiltrate first to get a sense of what he's dealing with. Once he has a decent amount of intel, he will be going in with the Maximus Ambus armor to outright subdue Ela. His intent is to capture and detain, so non-lethal weaponry will be used. After he's sorted them all out, he will contact local law enforcement to come pick up Ela's men.

But before he does, he's going to poke around Ela's records, as it seems likely that someone who traffics in that many people wouldn't have a papertrail of some sort. Would he able to find anything in regards to who he was trafficking these slaves to, what purposes they served, what he was getting in return in terms of payment, and if maybe there was something larger at play here?

The slave trafficking is a business venture for him, so there would be a paper trail. He could find how many slaves he's bought, then who he sells them to. It might not always be easy to see what the person who bought the slaves from his is using them for, but it would be along the lines of labor, sex trade, personal, etc. The most he sells for is labor trade. This is because he can by mass amounts of slaves without having to put any time/effort/money into their appearance, just focusing on general health. There would be some on record to have bought slaves from him to take them to their own homes - other planets, etc. - to use the slaves to build, clean, and farm.
