So with regards to trading being an option in the market place Ade has nothing physical to trade. Would he instead be able to trade a service (something like him destroying the competitions market stall in order to receive a large amount of space tobacco?)
If I hand waved /wrote a prompt for something like this just how much trouble would Adrian be in if detected? And would it be at all possible that he simply wouldn't be detected there would just be a suddenly collapsing and crushed market stall? Or are there eyes everywhere keeping track of their movements?

Trading services for goods is entirely possible. Not all characters have items yet that they would want to trade, or would want to if they did, so trading a service is something they can do (the service they provide is up to the player entirely). As it is a marketplace with visitors from all over, there would be those that accept services in return for goods or other services.
Get your space tobacco, Adrian.
When it comes being detected, that's a little trickier. Since the crew are all gathering much needed supplies, the captains won't want anyone to get into too much trouble, especially if it might impede them doing what they came there for. That being said, it's completely up to you. The marketplace's patrons know that trouble in competitive trade areas is a real threat, so anything Adrian does won't necessarily reflect back on the Moira in this particular instance.
There aren't eyes on them at all times, just a general awareness through their MIDs to tell the ship where they are and their vitals, so they have free reign to go where they want in the marketplace. So he could crush the stall and get his payment undetected, continuing with his duties. Or word can get back that he caused a disturbance, which would result in the captains placing him in the hold for impeding a smooth supply run.
Let us know here what you choose to do so we can approve or give further details.

He's getting an awful lot of it to last until the next market. On account of the fact that he's going to completely obliterate the competition. So I imagine the guy is gonna give him some disgustingly large box of space rolling tobacco and all the necessary components to be able to roll the space equivalent of a cigarette???
He's going to make it look like an accident though because I really don't want him to go into the hold guys... mostly because his gut reaction will be to obliterate the ship, too. And that's just too much obliteration during one's first week.

And maybe I'm missing it, but are jobs and things announced somewhere with the first few days as well? I saw where they're given room assignments etc, but I wasn't sure how soon they'd be expected to show up for work somewhere on the ship. Or if those areas are open yet (because Joker is sure as hell going to head for Navigation as soon as he figures out where it is, job assignment or not). Plus, he doesn't really do many planet exploration trips and I might give him a post controlling the transporters instead, since that's what he's prone to do in canon. Just wondered where/when this might factor into things within the first week or so, or if it wouldn't at all.

When your character signs their contract, it states that they are now part of the crew of the Moira with a specific job. Their duties are listed on the contract, as well as the job title. After their first night in the hall, they are given their rooming assignments and told that main ship locations are all open. This means that any area listed on the locations page that doesn't specifically say locked is now open for use.
Since everyone is new and adjusting to the ship, the captains know not everyone will be working the very first day. Jeff can get into things as soon as you have him ICly do so. If he's quick to find Navigation, then you can have him there and working as soon as you'd like.
The transporters are piloted remotely from Navigation, so if you don't want him to explore the planet, then he can absolutely do that (as that would still have him doing his share of the gathering supplies portion of duties).
I hope this helps.

For the space booze, the components would be mostly unrecognizable, but the makeup would definitely include the basics; water, something fermented, etc. For the food, it's pretty much the same thing. There might be similar components to the food your character is used to, but some would be completely unrecognizable. This means that no matter what planet they obtain their resources from, some will match up to familiar things, others would not. There are no specific guidelines, just have fun with it.
This is a really good question. The hydration kits. If Trip tests them, the results would be as follows:
Re: Questions
2.) I'm considering having Fiona attempt to stow away on a random explorer's ship, in an effort to ditch the Moira and return home. Can you tell me a little more about how this could/would/will go wrong, and the sort of consequences she has to expect for it?

1.) We left this a little bit vague so that players could have fun with what goods they find and obtain. Since it's a marketplace with travelers from everywhere, a character could find almost anything. We leave this up to you to decide what they find; its characteristics, how it's different, etc.
2.) This is a wonderful question, I'm glad you've asked it. Let me explain a bit of this.
The MID devices don't watch the crew, but it does send feedback to the ship as to their vitals and location. If it shows that they are exiting the approved areas, like the transporter landing area, the road to the marketplace, or the marketplace, they will be apprehended and brought back to the ship. The captains will explain to her that since she came in through their Ingress, she has to go back through it, but they don't know how to make that happen yet. They'll reiterate that there is no other way home.
If ICly that's not enough, the captains can be more forceful, or we can find a way OOC to appeal to her to make her want to stay.
I hope this helps!

One follow-up question: What would most likely happen to her after her talk with the captains? Would she be told to resume the planetary mission, or to stay on the ship, or would she (first) be sent to the hold for (??) amount of time?

Also, would it be possible for Tony to patch the comm in his suit to the MID later on? Not immediately, of course. That one's not really an intro log question, but this is easier than harassing you in two different places with my musings.
+1
Thanks Iron Mun

He won't be taking off the MID, he's pretty okay with it. I was. Just considering future things, as if he ever got his suit fully functional. And needed to use it for whatever reason, he could still communicate through the MID to someone while wearing it. Or communicate with FRIDAY through the MID or something. I was just brainstorming. And now I'm rambling, sorry!
Thank you again! Tony appreciates not being naked for his first impressions with the new crew! XD

2. Are there any deficiencies in the weaponry the ship has currently she would know about? And what ARE the weapons they do have, anyway?
3. Meat meat meat-- i mean is there anything worth hunting in the area or should she stick with what the market has?
no subject
2. The state of the Moira's current weaponry system has been mostly inactive, but if any diagnostics are run, they will reveal no deficiencies or disrepair. The ship's main guns are energy-based, which is why the solar sails are so vital to its functions, and are somewhat similar to plasma cannons. In the bow, these guns are smaller and not as efficient as those found in the Main Gunnery. However, it should be noted that the Moira is not designed as a battle ship, so its defenses are somewhat limited and are capable of overheating if not cared for properly.
3. No wildlife will be found in the initial exploration of the planet. She can find some substitute in the market, but unfortunately, the quality of the meat that is for trade might not be of the best considering how long it's been out on display.

He can consume pure liquid energy or recharge from a power source directly through his circuits.
