ABOARD THE MOIRA
Whether adjusting to space travel has been difficult or not, there is always something to be done. From working to leisure, the Moira offers a multitude of opportunities to get to know your crewmates a bit better. Exploration of the ship is highly encouraged, but as another planet grows closer to being docked, things start to get a little hectic. You'll notice a slight change in the artificial gravity as the Moira is pulled into a gravitational field; however, more noticeable changes can be found in the overall morale as you prepare to descend.

☄ on your own
There are plenty of other communal areas on the ship to explore! Pick a place, and see where it takes you. ( These scenarios can be used as in-game canon. )

ERIS — 6578

Welcome to one of the sister Eris planets. This one, unlike many of its counterparts, is incredibly high dollar. For visiting individuals, it is mandatory to wear clothes befitting of such a status. For those aboard the Moira, it means discarding work attire for the formal wear they have been provided. Characters will find the temperature moderately cold, a late fall to early winter feel, and their outwear must reflect the prestige Eris—6578 is universally known for. Any sort of trading is strictly done through computers and electronic orders--nothing hands-on as it's considered beneath the inhabitants to indulge in such outdated means of interaction. Unlike most systems, money is needed to purchase things on Eris. The captains have given the crew unlimited credits; with each transaction, simply "pay" with the MID. ( These scenarios can be used as in-game canon. )

☄ lavish living
Fine dining? The movies? Or perhaps gambling? Whatever your tastes, Eris caters to everyone and everything—the more expensive, the better. There is no limit to what can be done when one has the money to spend, and this lifestyle reflects in the people and surroundings. Even sex is a very ornate process held to the highest discretion. Feel free to indulge, but know that it isn't without its consequences.

taken
In its underbelly, Eris—6578's main function is the trade and trafficking of bodies for one of two purposes: to be placed in a situation where you are made to kill for another's enjoyment or are tortured and killed based on the client's personal tastes. Each scenario is designed to fit the paying customer's predilections and is often carried out in places secured and private. Remember, money is no object. Therefore, the extent of what they do or make you do has no boundaries either.

Eris - 6578

[Nevermind the uniforms, Arianna still has one of her gowns, her circlet, and her jewelry. It's almost quaint how obsessed this planet is with appearances - maybe it is similar in other kingdoms, but Arcturus's court is not like this at all.

Still, this is game she can play fairly well enough, and any opportunity to expand her wardrobe beyond those horrible uniforms is one she will take. So here she is, browsing through racks of finery.]

Oh dear.

[She pulls some sort of cloak free. It's heavy embossed velvet with a bejeweled trim - and the dominant colors are red and gold. That may have no meaning here, but she just...can't. Even if it is pretty and looks warm. SO she turns to the closest person:]

You should try this. It certainly looks warmer than those horrid jackets.

B.
[Arianna certainly looks afraid, strapped to this strange upright thing as she is. But the Star is warm against her throat and for a brief moment she has to fight the absurd urge to laugh. These people really don't know what they're dealing with. They shouldn't have left it in her possession, should never have taken their eyes off her.

She glances sideways. There are other things she has no word for with people strapped to them, one untouched and one, well, already worked on. Arianna can't repress a shudder; she's seen worse from the Solari but still...

Have they left them here alone just to make them more afraid? To relish in their fear and powerlessness? She is never going to understand these people but she can take advantage of what she considers their stupidity. The bonds at her wrists flicker like fire and Arianna jerks her hands free, narrowly avoiding the needles and other sharp bits.

Ow, those were tight.]

Psst! You! Are you awake?

[Loki really doesn't do red either, unless he has to. So even if it's both pretty and probably rather impressive, he holds his hands up, looking rueful.]

I don't particularly wear red all that much, alas. It's always been my brother's colour, not mine.

[He shrugs, one arm ending up across his chest, other hand under his chin.]

If it looks warm, why not buy it yourself?

It rather clashes with the colors of my house, I'm afraid. [She's wearing them now: green dress, white chemise, black vest. Add red and someone from Earth would be forgiven for saying she looks like Christmas.

To say nothing of the fact that she's seen this cloak's near-twin on one of her greatest enemies.]

I prefer cloaks in a less limiting color. And not something that commands so much attention. [She puts it back with a sigh - objectively speaking, it is beautiful.] If there was trouble, I would never get anything done in that.
realitywarped: (Neutral - Thinking)

[personal profile] realitywarped 2015-12-07 03:31 am (UTC)(link)
House, hmm?

[He raises an inquisitive eyebrow, although he's suddenly grateful his family doesn't particularly have livery, mostly because he suspects he would have let them down there, too.]

I prefer coats, usually, although mine vanished on the way in here. It was amazingly cool, no matter what some other people might tell you, and very good for getting things done in. Invisibility coats tend to very helpful at not attracting attention, when they're working.

[Although he suddenly looks thoughtful, poking the cloak.]

Theoretically, I could change the colour of it, I suppose, if you wanted it in, say, green. Or black.
enthorned: (smile;)

[personal profile] enthorned 2015-12-07 04:49 am (UTC)(link)
Those exist? [And then she realizes how stupid that sounded; they were kidnapped by a ship that doesn't sail but flies between stars. She shouldn't be surprised at anything anymore.] I suppose it's too much to hope that it vanished itself instead of getting lost.

[Arianna watches with interest. Even the fae can't do something like that.]

Green would be a definite improvement. I don't think someone like me could get away with that cloak in black, though. [She wrinkles her nose.] I'm not that sort of Vard.
realitywarped: (Neutral - Conversational)

[personal profile] realitywarped 2015-12-07 05:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Mine existed, I made it. I was wearing it before being sucked through their star gate, but it wasn't spat out with me and the rest of my possessions.

[And really, finding thread from Svartalfheim had been hard enough when Svartalfheim had been a realm over, rather than apparently an entire universe or three. He's still annoyed by its loss, frankly, but then he always did have trouble letting go of things.

Still, no need to dwell on it now, so after a moment the frustrated pout smooths over into something a little less irritated teenager, a little more intent on his conversational partner.]

Oh, I suspect you could. It might be a little dramatic, but I think you'd pull it off- although I'm not sure what a Vard is or what kind you might be.

[But his hand glows bright green for a moment, and Loki looks entirely innocent as he touches the cloak and the red slowly clears to something a few shades off the magic he just used.]

Still, never let it be said I object to green.
enthorned: (laughter;)

[personal profile] enthorned 2015-12-08 04:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Perhaps it's taken the long way and will turn up eventually? Things like that don't like to stay lost. [Ever the optimist...]

I fear when I think I look dramatic, I must look ridiculous to everyone else. There are others in my family who can clear a room with a stern glance. [She laughs now, but it's easier not to be upset about it when no one's tried to threaten her here.] I don't really have whatever it takes to be properly intimidating, I suppose, cloak or no.

[Arianna watches the magic with interest, and if Loki was looking for a reaction, he certainly gets one. Her face lights up and she can't help but reach for the cloak, turning the fabric over and over in her hands like she doesn't quite believe what she's seeing.]

How did you do that?
realitywarped: (Amused - Wry)

[personal profile] realitywarped 2015-12-09 08:46 pm (UTC)(link)
I certainly hope so, but not to the point of holding my breath waiting for it.

[He's pretty resigned, now.]

It's mostly a state of mind, you know. If you think you can be, you will be. Trust me, I've known very intimidating ladies about this high- [He holds his hand about shoulder height on him-] and far more physically imposing people I'd find it hard to ever be afraid of.

[He holds a hand up in front of him, the same faint green glow blinking into existence around his fingers. For a moment, he lets it play across his hand, before closing his fingers around it, lips curling up in a smile that isn't entirely happy.]

Magic. It's not the easiest to use purely by willing things to happen, but there's little effort in just changing the colour of something.
enthorned: (laughter;)

[personal profile] enthorned 2015-12-11 04:29 am (UTC)(link)
[Shoulder high to a god is probably as good as Arianna is getting - she's fairly short by human standards.]

I'll keep that in mind the next time someone threatens me. Though I do hope I can be convincing enough that I won't have to back it up. [That's the catch, isn't it? Arianna could hurt someone, if she had a mind to, but it's not something she particularly enjoys.]

So it won't change back? [She slips into it and twirls once - any more and the shopkeeper would probably start giving her pointed looks. Such a stuffy planet.] I've never heard of anything quite like that. And you made it look so easy...

[She stops gushing and smiles, unsure what's causing the unease.] I'll have to find some way to thank you.

[ He's worried, uncertain, filled with apprehension and even a small dose of fear as he works to try and free himself. He's at a slight disadvantage without his gun, but he trusts his defensive skills and his ability to fight back when he gets himself loose. And he will. Then, the fury barely contained behind his stoic veneer will make them think twice before trying this again with him or anyone else.

Movement catches his attention and he turns his head at the sound of a voice. ]

Yeah. How'd you get loose?
enthorned: (concern;)

[personal profile] enthorned 2015-12-17 07:07 am (UTC)(link)
Magic.

[She says it so casually as she repeats the spell to free her feet, like such a thing is commonplace. But Arianna is unsteady when she steps free, still dizzy under the influence of whatever drug they've given her.]

I can-- I can get you out of that, too. [She staggers over, leaning heavily on that contraption for balance. Best to wait for the world to stop spinning before playing with fire magic again.]

I don't suppose you've any idea of the way out of here?

[ With everything he's seen so far, he probably shouldn't be surprised by her response. But he is. He's just...not from that kind of world. It's foreign to him still, though it's hard to deny what he's seeing right in front of him. ]

We'll find a way out. [ Which means - no, he doesn't know. Yet. But he's pretty determined to get them both out of here somehow. ] Is that gonna hurt you, getting me out? [ She seems so unsteady from whatever they pumped them with. Does magic make that worse? Hell if he knows. ]

[The figure lurking by the clothing racks seems to share Arianna's distaste for the uniforms. Red-orange lights burn amidst flexible black armor, short dots and dashes leading up to a tetra-amino underneath the program's chin. No face is visible, only a black mask that angles curiously toward the speaker. Arianna might also catch a noise: a constant ticking rumble, like a broken hard drive skipping with each spin.

Shoulds from strange users are becoming irritatingly familiar, but Rinzler examines the clothing item at request. It doesn't take long at all for him to shake his head. Even putting warmth aside entirely, that color assignment wasn't his to take. Red on its own would be acceptable. But there's only one program on the Grid whose circuitry is gold.

Clu's enforcer isn't going to presume to wear his admin's colors.]
