ABOARD THE MOIRA
Whether adjusting to space travel has been difficult or not, there is always something to be done. From working to leisure, the Moira offers a multitude of opportunities to get to know your crewmates a bit better. Exploration of the ship is highly encouraged, but as another planet grows closer to being docked, things start to get a little hectic. You'll notice a slight change in the artificial gravity as the Moira is pulled into a gravitational field; however, more noticeable changes can be found in the overall morale as you prepare to descend.

☄ on your own
There are plenty of other communal areas on the ship to explore! Pick a place, and see where it takes you. ( These scenarios can be used as in-game canon. )

ERIS — 6578

Welcome to one of the sister Eris planets. This one, unlike many of its counterparts, is incredibly high dollar. For visiting individuals, it is mandatory to wear clothes befitting of such a status. For those aboard the Moira, it means discarding work attire for the formal wear they have been provided. Characters will find the temperature moderately cold, a late fall to early winter feel, and their outwear must reflect the prestige Eris—6578 is universally known for. Any sort of trading is strictly done through computers and electronic orders--nothing hands-on as it's considered beneath the inhabitants to indulge in such outdated means of interaction. Unlike most systems, money is needed to purchase things on Eris. The captains have given the crew unlimited credits; with each transaction, simply "pay" with the MID. ( These scenarios can be used as in-game canon. )

☄ lavish living
Fine dining? The movies? Or perhaps gambling? Whatever your tastes, Eris caters to everyone and everything—the more expensive, the better. There is no limit to what can be done when one has the money to spend, and this lifestyle reflects in the people and surroundings. Even sex is a very ornate process held to the highest discretion. Feel free to indulge, but know that it isn't without its consequences.

taken
In its underbelly, Eris—6578's main function is the trade and trafficking of bodies for one of two purposes: to be placed in a situation where you are made to kill for another's enjoyment or are tortured and killed based on the client's personal tastes. Each scenario is designed to fit the paying customer's predilections and is often carried out in places secured and private. Remember, money is no object. Therefore, the extent of what they do or make you do has no boundaries either.

Raiden || Metal Gear Solid (CRAU)

[personal profile] cyborged 2015-12-06 08:54 pm (UTC)(link)
[Some info for your perusal.]

The Moira -- Nowhere in particular;
[The thing to do in any new place is to familiarise yourself with as much of it as possible. Get to know the layout, how to move around quickly and efficiently. Figure out how to move without being seen.]

[It's for this reason that people may suddenly be startled by a cyborg who is surprisingly light on his feet seemingly appearing out of nowhere. Stepping out of nooks and crannies, climbing down from vents, etc. Maybe you could even swear that cardboard box moved a little while your back was turned, but that's ridiculous right?]
Eris-6578 -- Taken;
[Honestly, the fact someone even managed to kidnap him is more of a shock than anything.]

[Raiden is enraged - he always swore he'd never let this happen to him again - but it's a cold, calm sort of anger. One that sits under the surface. His weapons are gone and he's been left in this shitty looking room with someone out of it who looks like they've been roughed up pretty bad. They want him to fight - Raiden can feel it without being told what to do. They want a survivor and a loser and they want to see one hell of a fight for it. And he could, he could fight, and he could win.]

[But he won't.]

[Raiden sits patiently on the floor. Waiting.]
Wildcard;
Hit me with your best shot!
bombsheltered: (what?!)

LET ME KNOW IF THIS IS OK!!

[personal profile] bombsheltered 2015-12-07 02:52 am (UTC)(link)
[ okay, this is pretty wild stuff. as both a vigilante and a trailblazer, milly's seen a lot of action, and her fair share of the strange and unexpected -- dinosaur invasion, that whole mutant cyborg thing, even time travel -- but space? space is new. actually, pretty exciting. milly knows teddy's been to space, and frankly, she was always just a bit jealous. so this is pretty exciting, actually. any opportunity to add to her repertoire of superheroic experience, right?

not that she's taking this lightly. this is a pretty big deal, and the people here need her help, she's sure. so many of them seem like civilians, too! no doubt her powers could come in handy here. it's kind of alarming being kidnapped from home, but they're supposed to be working toward getting everyone home...that's a pretty heroic quest, right there.

right now milly is in the observation deck, admiring the captivating view of deep space. it's just so...vast. and so beautiful. milly is enraptured by it, hovering just above the ground and floating just a little closer to the viewport -- and then she hears something behind her, sees a shadow at the corner of her eye, and she pivots immediately midair, tensing. ]

Hello? Who's there?
cyborged: (15941423_026)

it's beautiful!!!

[personal profile] cyborged 2015-12-07 11:12 pm (UTC)(link)
[Well. Being lost in space is no reason to stop Milly's training. If anything, it's all the more reason to continue with it.]

[Raiden stays still when Milly turns, waiting patiently to see how good her instincts are. She has a tendency to go in fists first in his experience, but those situations have always been a little more immediately dangerous too. What will she do with someone sneaking up on her, he wonders?]
bombsheltered: (FIGHT ME)

i fucking love them!!!

[personal profile] bombsheltered 2015-12-07 11:51 pm (UTC)(link)
[ raiden knows milly all too well. she's definitely becoming more attuned to the subtle under raiden's mentorship, but she's always been the "punch first, ask questions later" kind of hero, which is good in some ways -- she's always ready for a fight -- but she tends to jump the gun.

milly goes still when she catches sight of...no one, her brows drawing down and her eyes narrowing slightly. there really aren't a lot of place to hide on the observation deck -- maybe she's just seeing things? no. she didn't get this far by not trusting her senses and her instincts, and the little chill raising hairs along the back of her neck is her gut instinct telling her she's not alone here. her gaze shifts across the room, back and forth. sure is quiet in here. milly turns slowly back toward the view of deep, star-scattered space.

this time, when she senses something behind her, a flicker at the corner of her eye, she does about as expected -- wheeling about with a yell, arms swinging out, except instead of going for a blow, she goes for the grab instead, aiming to snatch and throw her would-be assailant to the ground. ]

they're so gr9 and i missed them so much

[personal profile] cyborged 2015-12-08 12:05 am (UTC)(link)
[At least she didn't go for the punch. Getting your assailant on the ground puts them at a huge disadvantage, it's a much more sensible move than punching the unknown. Even where cyborg-enhanced strength is concerned.]

[Of course, a move like that requires good use of the element of surprise, which is lessened somewhat by the yelling. He knows Milly well enough that he pretty much saw this coming, prepared for the second her arm is close enough to grab and turn her momentum back on her, throwing Milly to the ground instead.]

You're getting better.

[Is that a smirk on his face? It's hard to tell with Raiden.]
bombsheltered: (what?!)

ughhh ME TOO

[personal profile] bombsheltered 2015-12-08 12:25 am (UTC)(link)
[ darn, she missed the grab -- and whoever she was just trying to grapple with is at least as strong as she is. she gets that peculiar flip in her belly that she usually only feels when she's going for a dive bomb as her unseen assailant turns her head over heels to use her own move against her. as she does, she catches a glimpse of his face, and --

and she might have managed a last-minute recovery if she wasn't so stunned by it. her eyes go wide even as she goes down, hitting the deck with a heavy clunk -- but not, thankfully, denting it. if there was any suspicion that her eyes were lying to her, the voice proves it -- it's really him. ]

Raiden? [ the word is out just about as soon as she hits the ground, and she stares up at him in surprise. ] You're here?

[ better brace yourself, raiden, the shock is the only reason she hasn't gone for a hug yet. ]
cyborged: (15941423_031)

[personal profile] cyborged 2015-12-08 12:39 am (UTC)(link)
[It's a relief honestly, to see Milly here. It'd be one thing if he'd been a solitary kidnappee, but the reverse is... Well. After what happened in the future, it doesn't really bear thinking about. Raiden is acutely aware of the lengths he'd go to for Milly's safety. Being able to be here and watch out for her settles an anxiety in him; maybe one day she could go off into space alone and he wouldn't be worried every second he didn't hear from her, but that's not yet.]

[His expression softens as he offers her a hand up, preparing himself for that hug. Milly's a hugger, he's... Getting used to it.]

I'm here.
bombsheltered: (you can call me milly!)

[personal profile] bombsheltered 2015-12-08 12:59 am (UTC)(link)
[ milly's relieved to see raiden here, too, though not so much out of worry. well...okay, maybe a little. she knows raiden can totally take care of himself, at least in some sense, but she wouldn't want him to be dealing with all this stuff alone. and... it is nice to know someone here has her back. she trusts raiden implicitly.

the shock turns to genuine delight as she takes raiden's hand and lets him pull her up and -- yep, right into a tight hug, arms flung around his middle. after a moment she pulls back, looking brightly up at him. ]

Oh, I'm so glad! I thought I was the only one -- I mean, obviously there are lots of people here, but no one else I know... [ she frowns slightly, quizzically. ] I don't really know what's going on -- I keep hearing talk about people from other worlds -- but...well, it doesn't seem so bad so far.
cyborged: (Default)

[personal profile] cyborged 2015-12-08 01:36 am (UTC)(link)
[There's a slight "oof!" from Raiden, courtesy of suddenly being hugged tightly by half a ton of teenage girl, but he hugs her back - he's learning! - and tries to keep some of the concern off his face when he looks down at Milly.]

Mm. Everyone I've spoken to has been... Nice.

[If he seems sceptical it's only because suddenly being in strange and unfamiliar places has historically lead to being tortured for Raiden. But this kind of thing does happen. He's never experienced it himself, but Raiden's read enough CONDOR reports about time and inter-dimensional displacement to know it's not always malicious.]

[He can't help but wonder what would've happened if he hadn't signed the contract though.]

--So you're okay?
bombsheltered: (EXCUSE me?)

[personal profile] bombsheltered 2015-12-08 01:51 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, everyone seems alright so far. I haven't run into any shady characters yet, at least. The captains were nice enough, although they didn't say much...

[ raiden's pretty good at hiding things from her, but she catches that look and gives him a pout-like frown, a little indignant. ]

I look okay, don't I? I can take care of myself, you know. [ milly gives him a brilliant grin. ] Besides, who's going to mess with the both of us, huh?

[Athena wakes with a jolt and immediately winces in unexpected pain. Her memory is hazy and disjointed; she doesn’t remember how she got here -- just brief flashes of cold eyes and colder smiles, a brief struggle, harsh discipline, scattered talk of money and bets…

Atlas. It had to be Atlas. Her mind seizes onto the answer immediately: the devil you know is better than the one you don’t, after all.

As she pushes herself off the floor into a sitting position, she realizes she’s not alone in the room: she turns to see a strange-looking man sitting across from her, unmoving. She reaches for one of her swords, but it’s not there. What’s worse, she’s not in her armor, but in her Moira uniform. Last time she trusts the captains when they tell her she won’t be in any combat situations.

She remains still and tense, waiting for the man to attack, but he doesn’t. After a moment, she breaks the silence between them.]

What do you want?
cyborged: (15941423_028)

[personal profile] cyborged 2015-12-07 11:19 pm (UTC)(link)
[He looks up at the voice, staying almost unnaturally still as he looks this stranger over. He can't tell anything about her like this though; she's awake and understandably tense, but he won't engage. And if she does, he'll try to subdue her non-lethally. Raiden resolves himself to this before he responds.]

They want us to fight.

[He assumes. Nobody's actually told him anything, but it makes sense.]

To the death, probably.

[She looks him up and down, confusion written in her expression. It isn’t the fighting to the death that confuses her; it’s her opponent. She leans forward, peering at the man’s face as if searching for some echo of familiarity.]

But I don’t even know who you are. If... if this is Atlas... [She shakes her head.]

Why would they want me to kill you?
warandpeace: (Blood red ɴαιlѕ oɴ yoυr ғιɴɢerтιpѕ)

[personal profile] warandpeace 2015-12-07 03:38 am (UTC)(link)
[Cyborg. That's not what he expected to come climbing out of a vent.]

[Of course he's wary, since the hallways are the way that people usually travel unless someone has a particular need for infiltration. So his first impulse is to think that this man is a threat, coming to extricate something from the ship. Or worse.]

[But Kazuhira isn't quite used to the absence of certain crucial body parts yet. It means all he can do is quickly step back with the aid of the crutch as he sees the form appear from the figurative woodwork.]

You. What are you doing here? [A demand, still, if not a shouted one, delivered in an even tone. Actual combat is currently useless for him. He couldn't attack and restrain like he could in his youth if he wanted to. It might not even do any good. Hopefully it wasn't one of Skull Face's dolls that survived their master's demise.]
cyborged: (15941423_036)

[personal profile] cyborged 2015-12-07 11:26 pm (UTC)(link)
[Ah-! This isn't where he thought that vent lead to. Raiden looks up and around, basically ignoring this guy as he commits the route to memory.]

Exploring. [His reply is absent and dismissive, yet somehow manages to be just a little sarcastic too. He has more pressing matters to deal with.] What room is this?
warandpeace: (I ѕeeĸ тo cυre wнαт'ѕ deep ιɴѕιde)

[personal profile] warandpeace 2015-12-08 01:06 am (UTC)(link)
[Exploring? Considering what he's been dealing with, who he's been working for, despite being suspicious at the start that seems like a perfectly reasonable explanation. Not that his guard has dropped much, but it really doesn't seem that unlikely to him that someone would go exploring through the vents.]

The mess hall. [Flatly said, and standing more at ease.]

Find anything interesting?
cyborged: (Default)

[personal profile] cyborged 2015-12-08 02:06 am (UTC)(link)
[Mess hall. Okay. He must've gotten turned around at some point, it's gonna be hard to map this place on his own, evidently.]

Just some guy with a pretty good falsetto.

[Who was understandably more than a little freaked out by a mystery cyborg stepping out of the shadows, but that's neither here nor there, and Raiden shrugs. If there's stuff he's not supposed to see, they're doing a good job of making sure he doesn't see it.]
warandpeace: (My вlood rυɴѕ cold)

[personal profile] warandpeace 2015-12-08 02:40 am (UTC)(link)
[At least the cyborg came with a sense of humor.]

Just food here. Ranging in quality, so I've gathered, depending on what cooks are stationed in here on what days. [He shouldn't deliver the quality of recipes in the mess hall like it was important intelligence. Yet he is.] Depending on your definition of quality, that is. [All-natural ingredients or the proper arrangement of chemical additives.]

[His gaze, barely visible from behind the aviator shades, trail down to Raiden's stomach, then up to his face. He doesn't ask if he actually needs to eat. It probably doesn't matter that much. It's more important that he can concoct responses that aren't just a filthy parasite soldier lunging at him.]

The name's Miller. Kazuhira.
soldiergenes: (and you've got no strength to move on)

!!! HI THERE

[personal profile] soldiergenes 2015-12-07 09:49 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Thus far, Snake's work shift in the cargo bay has been dull. Understandably so, given that they haven't docked at any planets yet, though he's been told that will come eventually. Snake has no idea what to expect from an alien planet, but at this point he would welcome the chance to walk around on some solid ground and stretch his legs.

That's a way's off, though, and so for now he's stuck to kitchen duty and killing time in the cargo bay. At least there are some menial tasks at hand to keep him busy, and it's as he's rearranging some boxes that he realizes that something's not right.

It isn't something that he can put into words, exactly, but his instincts as an infiltrator tell him that something is off in the otherwise vacant room. There's a presence here, even if he doesn't know exactly where. Snake slips into sneaking mode like he's pulled on an old, comfortable shirt, and then begins stalking through the area. He stops in his tracks when he catches one of the cardboard boxes shifting just a fraction of an inch.

Who else would use that trick? ]
cyborged: (15941423_026)

!! HELLO!!!

[personal profile] cyborged 2015-12-07 11:31 pm (UTC)(link)
[Oh-- Oh no.]

[This is definitely not the situation he wants to meet Snake again in. (Can't lend any credence to his cardboard box nonsense for one thing.) He'd very much like to be cool and maybe even a little heroic, that's the way you wanna meet a guy you look up to again.]

[Raiden tries to sneak away when he sees Snake switch modes, but then he stops and Raiden knows he's been made. Maybe if he stays perfectly still, Snake'll assume it was nothing and just wander off. Dream big, little cyborg.]
soldiergenes: (with my worn out shoes)

[personal profile] soldiergenes 2015-12-10 09:03 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Most other people probably would have done exactly that: assumed it was a trick of the eye, shrugged, and moved on. The idea of a person hiding in a cardboard box is just too ridiculous to even entertain, but that's the beauty of the trick.

Snake has watched enough guards fall for that trick that he isn't going to do the same thing now. It might be a strange coincidence, that someone else on the Moira would have the same proclivities that he does, but Snake won't take any chances.

So he takes another step toward the box, reaches down, and starts to lift it up... ]

[Arid sits on the other side of the arena. The screen on her combat suit's helmet flickers on as her systems reboot, pulling her from 'unconsciousness'. The helmet is cracked, and the rest of the suit's armor fairly roughed up.

Arid plays back the last time she had visual feed. She recalls kidnappers catching her off guard, taking her weapon, beating her down. She recalls they had tried to remove her from her suit - only to discover, of course, that there was nothing inside. She is the suit.

Now she's here, with all manner of people shouting around a ring. Arid raises her head slowly, locking her gaze onto the cyborg sitting across from her, then robotically turning her head around the entire room, taking in all of her surroundings. The AI couldn't grasp the intentions.]
