This is for the following positions: Navigation, the Tower, Medbay, Defense, the Hold, Sanitation, Ingress work, and the Galley/Mess Hall. If you sign up your character to be a head of department, remember that the Captain and First Mate will be looking at their records and history, which will influence their choices. The sign-ups will be open a short time, and then, the chosen character’s comment will be responded to. OOCly, players have until the next log to work with the HR staff and other players, which can be done through handwaving or threading, to help the crew come up with what job they’ll want.
Ploiatos Guard Sign-Ups:

The new "Captain" and "First Mate" appear human, right?
Is there anything that could be learned by listening in on their conversations? Like if Robin used her powers to grow copies of her ears in the rooms they're inside?
Also, worth asking: I assume 'Historian' is not a vital job (although Robin is gonna refuse to do anything but that anyway). Would her books be considered 'frivolous items' and what would happen to them as a result?
With the room inspections and tightening up of how the ship is run, will characters who currently refuse to sleep in their assigned rooms and mostly sleep in the cargo bay be forced to give up their hobo lifestyle?
To what extremes are 'frivolous items' going to be taken away? Would a character be allowed to hang onto, say, a phone that easily fits into a pocket? That also would have access to some minor interdimensional storage if the creator will be able to fix the thing, aha
For job reassignment-- I understand characters can keep their old positions in their free time if they're nonessential. But are all "official" jobs being changed? Or only those that weren't useful to ship function? If a job doesn't fall neatly under one of the new section heads, then what happens to it?
My specific cases would be Rinzler as Transporter Supervisor and the mainframe as Workshift Coordinator. I'm not sure whether the former falls under Navigation or Defense, but either way... it gets reassigned to whoever the new head thinks is best suited? Rinzler gets evaluated and reassigned if he's not efficiently completing it? Or nothing changes because it's still a useful job? The mainframe hasn't actually been on-duty yet, but by the description, he'd be liasoning between different departments rather than working for any one. Who changes up his job, if anyone? Would it need reassigning?
Out of curiosity, would running the ship on low power have any effect on how long it takes for...say a 7 foot robot to charge up from an outlet? It seems subjective to me, but I wanted to be sure before making assumptions! Especially since Mettaton charges multiple times during the day.
Hey! I'm pretty sure that 2 out of J's jobs won't be considered as important ship wide (Makeup artist and bar manager), right?
And question: what if the characters are caught with not following their new routine and rules? Let's say, would get caught with tons of sweet snacks hidden and running a speakeasy?
coming from a post-apoc world where everything seemingly 'frivolous' can be later turned into something useful, furiosa has acquired many things that could be considered junk.
ex. skinned and disassembled furbies, random non-matching utensils, bits of scrap metal (ie she pried off storage container doors the ye old prison colony), rags, bottles of peroxide, and so on.
I imagine that they're going to have a heart attack when they see her stash, y/n.
Also while I'm asking a question-- Morale Officer gonna stick around?
Specific question: will Bruce be able to keep his position as chief science officer and continue to run the science department? or will that be deemed as superfluous and shut down?
I'd like to have Nate argue for education as an essential function (or to put heads together with Agent Tex since she's his superior)—do I need to ICly do this on the network post or can/should it be handwaved/noted here?
I'll happily do it ICly if necessary but he's side-eyeing the network post hard and I'm not sure he'd immediately jump to the defense of Educating Young Minds.
OH SECOND QUESTION. Given the low-power situation, would things like DVD entertainment/movie nights still be possible, if resources aren't abused? What if they were ICly kept on the hush-hush and/or with the understanding that they might get prematurely shut down?
Snake has a collection of cardboard boxes that he keeps in his room. There's about four of them, but the room overall is very neat, they just hang out in the corner. Would they make him dump them or could he hang onto them?
The Girl is going to be very tense with the new changes, and as such I was considering letting her powers come to the forefront during this. Can she wreck/short out some of the lights in one of the hallways? Would her powers be able to effect the cameras in the particular hallway or will they work on a different electrical line? I wanted to clear any property damage before moving forward.
Edited to add: Are the food rations going to be the same across the board or based on individual caloric need? For the latter, will the person had to have been examined and have the need medically approved first?
Because he wouldn't be a Kirk if he weren't trying to get into shit right off, would he?
A n y w a y s. Question is two-fold: Can Jim, Tony, and Daisy hack things so that they can listen in/glean details of what the new Captain Charm and the First Mate Smiles are up to, and what is going on elsewhere on the ship?
And if that is allowed, what information might they glean, or will that be revealed over time?
I keep forgetting to ask because I'm a dingus: Where does Peridot's job running the armory/tech lab fall in terms of A) being essential and, if it is considered essential, B) what category would it fall under exactly?
Vent stalker question - can Than and Curre still be seen regularly around the ship, and if some weirdo was trying to stalk either them or the new Captain/First Mate via the vents, would they observe anything of note?
I'm sorry he's so weird.
ETA: QUESTIONS 2.0, are the ploiatos guards icly aware they've been assigned to be ploiatos guards now, and are they told who they're guarding with in their shift?
